View Full Version : Guild Renown decay not using modified guild size

It appears that guild renown decay is currently not being based on modified guild size.
Our small guild had just hit level 49. I was on the guild tab of the social panel when our daily decay happened to hit, knocking us back to level 48. Since I was specifically looking at the renown at that point, I was able to see we took a hit of 1764 renown.
Our guild has 10 accounts, three of which are inactive (and yes, this is directly from the guild panel and not an assumption I am making), so our "Modified Account Size" is listed at 7.
Doing the math from the wiki:
(Modified Size+10) * Level Multiplier
gives:
(7+10) * 88.23675 = 1500 expected decay
Running the numbers for a ten account guild:
(10+10) * 88.23675 = 1764 expected delay - the actual amount I observed
Am I doing something wrong, or is decay currently bugged?

Modified guild size includes recent departures and inactive accounts,so your guilds modified size is 10 not 7.

Modified guild size includes recent departures and inactive accounts,so your guilds modified size is 10 not 7.
You realize what you just said makes the whole point of a /modified/ guild size redundant, right? The MGS does not include inactive accounts, only recent departures. If their MGS is listed at 7 then it is 7. The question to be asking now is whether or not the wiki is in fact a reliable source for this data, as last I heard it wasn't very accurate at all for renown.

I just want to clarify here, do you mean that when you mouseover your guild level in the social panel, does it says "Modified Account Size: 10" or "Modified Account Size: 7"?
The renown decay (as well small/medium guild renown bonus, if any) last I checked uses that number in its calculations. You do not need to subtract off inactive accounts, it already does that for you.
Another way to check what guild size it's using is to paste the output when you get renown, since you can calculate the guild size based on that.

When moused over, it says: "Modified Account Size: 7 (10 Active Accounts - 3 Inactive Accounts + 0 Recent Departures)"
I reconifirmed again today, we're losing renown as if we had a modified account size of 10.
The odd part is that I ran a few quests, and in random drops, chests, and end rewards, we get the 285% bonus that seven account guilds are supposed to get.

This would not surprise me. I haven't managed to be logged on to catch our renown decay, but it definitely seems like we're losing more renown than we should be.
