View Full Version : Chest Reassignment Alerts

I would like to see an alert appear at the top of the screen when someone re-assigns some of their chest loot to you. There would be a simple check/uncheck box for this in UI Options so that if for whatever reason you want this turned off (similar to any other alert) you can do so.

Rallying around chests or swaping loot in chests would be twice as fast and it would prevent the need for much dialogue. If you don't want that scroll or ring or whatever, assign it to someone else. If they don't want it... no harm done, but they immediately know its there for them if they do want it.

I have seen people assign items to others only to see them recall out of the quest leaving loot to rot do to miscomunication more than once.

There are lots of problems or inconvieniences this would solve with very little implimentation and virtually no gameplay changes.

This could be coded in two seconds and tossed into the next update very easily.

I love it when people say stuff like this. :D

Aside from the absurdity of that particular statement, I think it's a good idea.

You're right... lol
I just mean its not a major game overhaul or anything, just a simple helpful fix. Thats all.

Never. I sometimes randomly assign randomly sized shards of power to people who looted first. This warning would defeat the purpose (of making chaos).

I regularly go back to chests a second and even a 3rd time {can never remenber if I've actually looted em or not} so I'd be happy to have you in the party.

While this is a good idea also helps to ask if any one has certain items they are looking for Voice chat helps a great deal.. But yes I do think the idea could be a help to many...

Sleeps :D :) :D

Uh, no, it's not broken, and the less they touch it, the less chance of another catastrophic failure.

Not to mention, the scenarios where this feature would be beneficial seem to be limited to extreme cases of lack of communication, and I don't particularly think it's worth the effort to support that particular angle.

And even if it was, it'd hardly fix the issue, because if someone insisted on assigning stuff to random people hoping the message pop up would incite them to take care of the hot potato, there'd still be people who recalled, d/c ed or missed the pop up. Then you'd need bunch of other features to fix the issue that wouldn't exist in the first place if you managed to just say "So, anyone want these madstone shoes?".

...

Sorry, OP, but while I would have loved it if they released the game with this feature back in '06, at this point of the game such a trivial (yet helpful) change would only serve to raise my ire at the other things that should have been "fixed" but weren't.

At this point, I'd love for a release to be nothing but bug fixes and the fulfillment of years-old-promises, rather than even more new stuff riddled with problems.
