oozes & augment summoning

quick question, can anyone confirm whether or not augment summoning works on oozes? i think it should, but would like to be certain before making my arty an ooze repeater for giggles

Doesn't augment summoning augment(improve) your personal summons, including hirelings? Unless there's something about Arti I don't know, which is highly likely, then I would have to say the answer is no, since you don't summon the oozes. Making an ooze repeater may sound like fun, but towards midgame, when the oozes split when you hit them with piercing/slashing weapons, it's really not all that fun, depending on your gear. It's pretty easy, for example, to get 10 or so puddings out of the black puddings in the red fens adventure area, not to mention all the nice oozey surprises in the first part of Korromar.

you've clearly misunderstood the question.

the OP is asking about making a greensteel repeater with the sundering ooze ability. which does, in fact, summon oozes.

@OP: from what i've heard, it works. i have not personally tested that, however.

on a side note, once you get improved precise shot the splitting ooze problem is largely resolved by the fact that you can hit them all at the same time anyways ;)

It does work on ooze from greensteel

Yep definitively 100% yes.

An Ooze repeater with augment summoning on an Arti is very enjoyable. The augmented puddings can even take a small pummelling in epic!

Yay, I learned something new.

Side note to the side note: Yeah, gotta love that. But it can still be one heck of a lot of oozes when it's all over, and no matter how many you end up with, they only seem to count as one. Of course, if Many Shot is up, it's ooze stew. Bleh...

I have a dragontouched docent with sundering ooze guard banked by my main character, which I'm planning to use on the dog on his eventual artificer life, but I don't know if it will work like I hope.

I need you to explain your question better.. How would your pet summon an ooze? I don't know of any Docents or un-named handwraps (To be made into Modules) that have sundering ooze guard.. Can you get ooze guard as a Cannith crafting shard? idr seeing it. To be honest on reflection, even if there was an item you could put on your puppy, unless your puppy had the Feat: Augment Summoning (Which isn't an option), I would have to say no. Hmm.. Maybe you could put it on a Dragontouched docent thinking about it, but still, your pet doesn't have AS feat, so still no. So sorry.. :(

As I wrote in the post directly above yours, which you quoted, I have a dragontouched docent with sundering ooze guard on it.

My question is whether anyone has tried using one on an artificer pet to see whether the generated oozes benefit from the artificer's augment summoning. I wouldn't be surprised either way. Augment summoning does affect HoX puppies, even though they're not technically summoned, so I think it may work by just affecting all allied non-player creatures -- in which case I'm pretty sure oozes created by a pet with ooze guard would benefit from it.

yes, your pet can make augmented oozes. Mine currently spawns them as it was the best ability I could crunch out from the runes I had in my baggy.
