View Full Version : Favored Soul 34pt FvS Advice (TR Cleric) - TR'ing Today!

So, finally TR'ing my first 28pt toon into a Evoker FvS. Here is my plan - please let me know if I've missed anything crucial. My plan is to maximize offensive casting along with raid-ready healing. No melee past the 1st couple of levels, until offensive casting becomes viable. I have Conc Opp goggles and misc named items, but no epic gear - will get it on next life. TR'ing later today, so ASAP advice is appreciated.

dont see any major flaws, just some food for thought:

BUILD: Id drop 1 cha and put 1 into int, eat a +1 int tome and youll get the extra skillpoint earlier. Even if that ends up as getting you a -1 to the charisma modifier in comparison, thats 29 SP at cap and nothing else - big whoop this is (around 1% of the total SP when youre fully geared at cap).

FEATS: Ive never tried the Silver flame path, Id need to know how long the cooldown is on the searing light capstone. I love the free CLW provided by Sovereign host ;) I also am a huge fan of spell penetration, which I would rather take than spell focuses (and to be a true FvS heretic, Id rather take necro than evo - I dont heighten BBs, I deal with evasion mobs in different ways, and implosion is fun, but the impossibility to target makes it not worth 2 feats IMHO - it also is affected by SR, so spell pen will help it as well). Empower healing, well... I dont feel the need for more powerful (mass) heals myself. There are options Id take before that - a spell pen feat, shield mastery... I would take heighten earlier too.

ENHANCEMENTS: Again, I love spell pen, so Id try to fit in 2 of the line, and I would also rather invest more into the prayer of smiting/life lines than incredible ones (maximize the chance of a crit rather than the crit modifier). What you can definitely sacrifice is the second (even first if you need the APs elsewhere) tier of healing amp and probably the versatility too.

SPELLS: Id swap out firestorm for a mass cure critical, swap out mass cure serious (you will not need both, really) for either greater resto or resurrection (both can be scrolled and should not be needed regularly - personally I keep greater resto, because Im often tank healing so my scrolls are on almost constant cooldown and there are times when I need to remove neg levels quickly, raising can usually wait or be handled by someone else). You will also be able to swap out mass cure light, possibly for dismissal or break enchantment, true seeing, stalwart pact... Something that you will at least situationally use, which mass CLW at high levels/cap is not.
