Greetings all.

I've been playing for about a year now, trying this and that. I've now settled into playing two different classes. A Pale Master Wizard, and a War Chanter Bard (THF). Both are now level 13. (the bard being 12 bard 1 fighter)

I'm now trying to get them geared appropriately. I've found numerous items I would like to get via questing, loot runs. But every day I'm finding something else I want. My question is, could anyone give me some advice on some must have items these two characters would need?

Thanks for the help.

For your PM, I'd greatly recommend a greater necromancy focus item. This is relatively easy with Cannith crafting, you need to be Divine level 52 to craft it with 100% success iirc, and it's a ML 11 recipe. Other than that, until you get to 20, the usual +6 con items, greater false life items, and as much bonus spell point items are pretty handy. When you get to do shrouds, look at making a conc opp hp or sp item (I prefer the conc opp/hp combo myself, but there's plenty of reasons to go the other way too) and, until you get your ToD rings, a shroud +3 exceptional int item is also very useful to boost your DC's.

As for named items, the Napkin from Reaver's Fate is always nice. The new Belashyrra's Scepters are useful for consolidating your lore and spell damage items (Major Ice Lore+Superior Glaciation 8, Major Fire Lore+Superior Combustion 8, Greater Necro Focus + Major Void Lore), for the times when you can't instakill (bosses) or need something to kill a lot of mobs before you get Wail of the Banshee.

This is all from a pre lvl20 standpoint; obviously you'll want epic items (or close to it) by then, but in the meantime, those can serve you well.

Depends also on what packs you have. One thing available to everyone is the wrath of Sora Kell set, available from the (F2P) lordsmarch plaza chain. It's useful for anyone who both casts spells and has their hands full with wepons, so your warchanter should like it. If you also have the Attack on stormreach chain, the sora kell set can be upgraded to provide +6 to stats, instead of just +5, which means you can keep it around for some time, if you can't find anything better.

For your wizard, a stormreaver's napkin from the Reaver's Fate raid (ruin of gianthold pack) would probably be useful.

If you don't have heavy fortification items already, go to the 'relic of a sovereign past' quest (f2p) and get yourself a nightforge gorget. Now that you can have multiple nightforge items, some of the other stuff may be worth getting, if you have nothing better already (it offers +5 adamantine armor, improved false life + heroism bracers, and maybe a few other sorta useful things).

Your wizard will probably also want a potency item, to increase spell damage. Not sure if you are high enough level to use the Sup. potency VI random drop weapons, but they should be available for relatively cheap in the AH.

Assuming your warchanter uses two handed weapons, a bloody cleaver or blade of fury (also from the f2p part of the lordsmarch plaza chain) are both ok if you don't have something better already. Both can be upgraded in the p2p part of the chain, just like the sora kell set.

---------------

Your next stop after that is getting both your characters flagged for the shroud raid (vale of twilight pack), so you can begin to get greensteel materials. Your wizard will probably want a concordant opposition item. Assume your warchanter will want at +HP item, if nothing else. Not sure what the recommended slots for greensteel items is these days, used to be goggles for casters, but addition of house cannith set items may have changed things.

-------------

Flagging for shroud should get you at least lvl 16, so you can start thinking about stuff from house C and/or Shavarath
