The level CAP is being raised to 25. This is being done to allow for the late in year introduction of the Druid.

Also, the spell list will be raised to level 10. This will only be accessible when you are at Level 25. These are inate spell throwing type abilities which are incarnate and not of any school of learning. At the begining there will only be three per caster type. They cannot be learned from a scroll or applied/infused to any item, so not craftable.

Crafting will expand to level 200 at level 200 crafting you will be able to craft living spells and place them into power cells and gems

My prediction of the reaction of your prediction of the level cap being raised to 25... Lots of mad TR's...Sure.. There's a benifit of having five more levels, especially for casters... But at what cost? I mean.. how much more time would it take, how would the XP work? Would it be some different kind of system adding the five levels? Not to mention the ability to make over powered toons... Reminds me of the conversations that I had with a couple of friends, add epic levels.. probably five. gain something like... more AP that you can spend... SomethingJust my thoughts.. There's gotta be more to it than just raising the cap...Also.. Unicorns = Good idea.. can I ride them? :P

You forgot to mention the unicorns.

Unicorns would be way too OP and ruin the game. Nerf the unicorns or see the masses leaving the game.

Also, it should be unlockable with favor, not just from the store.
/sup canceled till this is addressed!
==========================
To the OP - Nice ideas, but I just don't see it. What quests would be grind to get to level 25? All epics?

I could see epic levels somehow, but not leveling to 25.

I can say one thing, i bet whatever we get will be fun!

I predict that Turbine will put it's first employees on the moon in 2012.

From there Turbine developers having little else to do will have increased productivity and output leading to a golden age of gaming, but only on the moon where the new servers are located.

This will all be pushed based upon the marketing department's analysis of future new markets and the opportunity to dominate a new market from the start being more important then keeping the existing player base.

The only wway to raise the cap is to keep TR's/Epics available at Lvl 20

However, those DDO players on the International Space Station will be able to play on the moon servers but unfortunately there will be issues with lag spikes and coronal discharges from the Sun. But they are working on this and it will be dealt with "soon"

My Predictions The plane of Dol'urhh will become coterminus with all of Eberron, causing a permanent Doom effect to all characters. XP debt will be reinstated, curses, blindness, disease, negative levels and all other debuffs will be permanent until cured. Players will no longer be healed after exiting quests and will be lying in the street, stuck at -9hp, unable to die and revive thanks to the effects of Dol'Urhh.

Khopesh will finally get nerfed, they will nerf Disruption/Smiting/Banishing weaps, and Vorpal again.

Finally the servers will be summarily shut down and all data wiped on December 21, 2012 to coincide with the end of Mayan Calendar.

Thanks for playing!

Maybe they already did this. Servers on the moon might explain some the lag people see... :)

I think we will see something like the level cap being raised to 25 and epic levels and spells in the coming year. There has been very little added to the character development aspects of DDO since true reincarnation was added. We just got a few prestige enhancements and that was about it. You can tell that the overall traffic in the class/race forums is down and I think the primary reason for this is nothing new has really been added to character development in a while. We are due..

Assuming you are serious...

What does level cap have to do with druids?

Kruz, our go-to man...orc...for True Reincarnation is plainly a druid, and he's been feeding his tree with the ashes of burnt level-20 characters. When the tree finally bears fruit, adventurers may consume it to raise their potential to epic levels...or something.

Duh, Druids will be SO OP, everyone else in the party will have to be 5 levels higher just to compare.

Thought only virgins could capture a unicorn? Would anyone who is want to capture one and parade it around Stormreach, only to be mocked and ridiculed by the other players?

Actualy because DDO wants to differentiate itself from PnP all Druids will have to be True Neutral and Virgins, therefore they can easily capture any unicorn up to and including the umberhulk unicorn "Jingletoes the beastly".

Noone will mock them because it will be a class requirement. :D

I foresee many things. Plans within plans.

I foresee the Devs will release many updates in 2012.
I foresee some people complaining.

During 2012 there will be a larger than normal update. This will create much fervor.

There will be much speculation within the playerbase. Some will claim to know the Devs secrets.

These things I have see in my infinite wisdom. Yet, despite my unerring gaze into the beyond I have faith. Faith that the Devs will continue to make many creative and fun additions to the game as they have done. And faith they will not be seduced into wasting time on pathetic gnomes. After all, the only reason gnomes exist in the world is to give Halflings someone to make size-ist jokes about.

My prediction:

Turbine devs will encounter a point at which they will have to choose between continuing to produce this game and all it entails(FIX IT),

Or simply letting it die and finding jobs at warner bros making Bugs Bunny grey again instead of purple.(only those with kids or still watching cartoons will understand):D:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Finally, I hope the devs listen to this awesome idea. We should aslo be able to dress them in pirate gear. My tricorned unicorn will be the envy of Stormreach.

I concur 100%. Classify any additional levels as epic levels (I'm assuming this will be done anyway to be consistent with PnP) and keep TR and Epics available to players at level 20. Raising the level cap required to TR to 25 and continuing to scale the exp as is done now would probably prevent LOTS of people from using TR.

I know several players who are really on the fence about a TR or two now, without the several million additional exp that would be required with such a change.

If the world is going to end in 2012 and I have to cap all my toons to level 25 before then, I demand that DDO add Druids to the game so they may capture unicorns for all my toons to ride into battle.

That is a basic human right.

All toons (and players) of non-human races will have to fend for themselves as best they can :D

I don't think we should ever see actual level cap increases and simply allow for more AP by letting capped characters earn XP and AP ranks to purchase epic enhancements. More levels has too much negative impact on TR'ing.

Diyon
12-16-2011, 02:11 PM
The problem I have with a level cap increase is this: Unless they release a whole **** load of new content at that lvl, what we have for end game now will be annihilated. If they can avoid this problem somehow, awesome then.

Druids and shifters would make me very happy.

Thanks but I think there is a great big update of mammoth proportions coming. Proportions which we can't grasp nor describe accurately.

However once implemented most will enjouy and a very few will post angry pedantic tiresome anal retentive laser like focus on ........

True Reincarnation has killed any chance of a level cap increase, unless TR mechanics are totally overhauled.

'Totally Overhauled' means changed to no XP penalties that scale with level. Either a flat XP penalty, or treating TRs the same way as first lifers for XP.

Sadly they already told us "No Mounts"

I, for one am glad about this point. I wouldn't throw a fit and leave the game if mounts ever did become available, but I don't think they would work in DDO.
