Please please please improve the process for getting to the entrance of the Twilight Forge quest! Yes, I know there are ways to get there involving meeting a party in another raid site and taking a D-door from there. But that is awkward and on more than one occasion thwarted me from participating in the quest. I can't imaging that it would be difficult to add the entrance to the quest to the list of places that a guild ship navigator can transport you. That way, getting to the quest would be no more difficult than getting to the Shroud.

That would be a Greater Teleport not a D-Door.
Anyone with a greater teleport spell/UMD scroll can get you there, or even the DDO store sells wands of Greater teleport.
Although a quick transport link from resless Isles would be nice.

The game mechanics already exist: Just give the npc at the quest entrance a dialog option like in tod, and if it's activated once, let the questgiver port you there.

First, yes, a better trasport option would be nice.
second, why not learn the run? it's straight forward (take first left, and go straight till you get there), and takes about 10 min at lvl, 3-4 min for a capped toon.
I am not saying it's fun or anything, just saying it's doable. don't be that guy that when everyone is at mindflayer saying he is still waiting for a GT to the forge... (true story. the guy linked his boots and ring to show he knows the raid 10 minutes earlier...)

I would be happy to do that IF I could enter the Restless Isles wilderness area after being accepted into the raid group. Once you are part of a raid group, you are refused entrance into any quest or wilderness area that is not for a raid group. The only way that method would work is to drop group and ask them not to accept anybody else while I am on my way through the wilderness area and then have them re-invite me one I arrive at the quest entrance. Workable, but unnecessarily awkward.
