View Full Version : The Korthos walk of shame

How many of you TRers make a point of not rebinding anywhere as an incentive to not die?

How painful is it to do, as friend Cloey put it, 'the Korthos walk of shame'?

I dare you TRs: don't bind :P

I encourage you non TRs wandering around Korthos, if you see one of the curly labeled ones, check their level, and if higher than say 5, make sure you wish them a cheery 'hello :D '. No need to ask them how they died... just the fact that anyone noticed them before they managed to sneak out of there is enough :P

(my sense of humour is going to get me into big trouble one day...)

I generally end up dying in Greymoon/co6 somewhere, so that's where I usually end up binding first. (After making my initial walk of shame) :p

Do TR's respawn at Korthos Island when they die?

I know my first lifer that hasn't bound anywhere, still had the Shore quest active gets dropped at the IQ gates in the Harbor.

I admit it. I have done the walk. It's pain. :D
1) Long walk to a decent bar
2) Long walk to a guild ship
3) Double long walk to any decent quest

I never bind unless im running a wiz life, and then i bind in the portable hole at lvl 1 while scribing all spells.

It used to actually drop you in Shripwreck Shore (the starter quest) if you didn't bind and had skipped it, but I take it they fixed that at some point. Been a long time since I've forgotten to bind.

I never bind anywhere when I TR
And believe me, dying at level 18 in the refuge or IQ, ending up there is SO FREAKING SHAMEFULL :(
Had it happen already multiple times to me, being level 18 over in Korthos *cry*

It is not that I make a rule out of it, it is just that I TR so fast that I always just forget to bind and then when a wipe happens you suddenly go: 'Oh, hello Korthos, I guess" *shamefully starts looking for the tele scrolls before anyone sees me*

If someone says 'hello', you can always say 'just cleaning up favor'.

The way I run stuff, if somebody says "hello", I usually reply with /squelch (although most of the times I seem to forget to place the /r first somehow lol) :D

Yeah, Korthos is the point where I have returned already twice this life on my main serial-TR:er and he is only level 13.. Not going well this life.. :(

It's a deal.

(I got an email about the character transfer today so should be done sometime today or tomorrow. We'll get you those gloves next run, I promise).

I haven't bound a character, except for meridia for non teleporting characters, since gianthold was released. With the addition of airships, I now don't even bind there.

I had actually planned this (intentionally) this lifetime. Last lifetime, I bound twice (before 20, anyway), once in the Lobster (at like, level 2, before trying Kobold's New Ringleader), then once in CC. This time, I'll be making the walk of shame (not that it bothers me, but I can see how it would bother others) probably quite a few times until I TR again...

I like the soulstone screenshot of shame better. Nothing beats a dead TR in "Heyton's Rest"

I do this too. I switch to the 12 when I am going to step into the Vale for the 1st time. And any rumors that I have been seen on this walk often are grossly exaggerated. Furthermore the previous sentence is grossly misrepresentative.

Not going to take the dare.

Shame does not bother me. Annoyance to get back to the quest does.

Not really TR or Walk of Shame related, but my regular groups always screenshot the shame of anyone level 20 who dies in VoN5 normal.

Hehehe this!

My favourite has to be the 230hp capped rogue who died trying to disable the blade traps on normal. He didn't do much better in eVoN 6 afterwards, but at least he got a scale that he might be able to trade for a +6 con item :P

:)

There are those moments when the most uber players you know die in the lamest way possible. Linking in channel is as about as far as we bother. But hey, if we could, we would link that soulstone in an lfm panel. :D Just keeping the egos in check :) :D

Oh, and I should point out here that while I am crediting Cloey having first heard this phrase from her, that in no way should it necessarily be said that this phrase has applied to her, but may have well applied to people she has played with.

(It was late, it was dark, and I had invis on.....)

Maybe they could rig it so TR's res in the middle of the korthos village, horns sound, some gates pop up with Walk of Shame on them and you exit them through the mist!

Come on Devs, forget about lag. ;-)

Hahaha, I need to run with you ;) I'd end up in a screenshot because I'm reckless in that. I usually end up in the lava at some point. :P

I haven't ended up dying at cap in a VoN5 normal yet, but they did snapshot my shame at rolling two 1's in a row from a Hound's Phantasmal Killer on my bard in Cas. ADQ1. I didn't have my Silver Flame necklace on.

I do the Crystal Cove Jig Of Happiness by staying bound in the Crystal Cove inn. That way I get to listen to the pirate music.

Yeah, I was disappointed when they 'fixed' that. Was the only way to get the water breathing ring and other eternal wands after a veteran start.

No, but a screenshot of the successful assassin is obligatory. :D
