so now it seems that Righteousness is no longer applying the +2 to hit/damage against evil monsters

at least not with the Epic Antique Greataxe, as that is what i tested it with.

took 1 swing at the Dummy (TN mob) with it, got an attack bonus of 40

took a swing at a kobold in KA (evil mob) and got the same attack bonus, 40

righteousness SHOULD have added +2 against the kobold, but it did not.

would post SS if i could figure out how.............

I think it's only +2 against very evil mobs. IE evil outsiders and evil divine casters and evil undead.
Haven't tested it myself, though, and this information may be mistaken.

I'm pretty sure evil is evil is evil. Were you getting any stray bonuses somewhere around the guild dummy, say a paladin? And you might want to check your base bonuses, I've seen my Attack bonus plummet when I step into a quest for no discernible reason that I could figure.

I can't find it just now, but there was a thread, fairly recently, wherein someone did say that righteousness was bugged and not working properly.

Yeah, there was a Thread which already "reported" that Righteoussnes is bugged (still counts as a good-aligned Weapon though). Oh and yes, evil is evil. Theres no Difference in evil and very evil. That was confirmed by a Dev quite some Time ago, but dont ask me where that Post is.

someone posted the fact it is not working in another thread i started, which is what prompted the testing above

Meh... At least it still provides the "good aligned" enhancement.

this has been an issue for years, folks just stop complaining about it since it is apparent it will never be fixed.

Went and tested as well.

Yes, seems like it is not applying at all.

Used my Paladin, who has eAGA. Weapons of Good confirmed that they were indeed of an "Evil" alignment. Righteousness to-hit was not applied.

Could it be applying it some other way? Like reducing the AC that you need to hit by 2 or some silly mechanic like that?

Because i cant exactly and specifically remember me doing a propper test in the past, verifying, that righteousness does indeed add +2 tohit and damage as well, to normal evil creatures (which are the vast majority in ddo and especially at low level almost evrything is), i cant say for sure, that it was actually working.
Beside that, im pretty sure (as far as i can....), that it was working, and that it was simply adding +2 damage and tohit against evil creatures (and not a lower ac or whatever). If not, i wouldnt had started a (big) collection of low level twink weapons of <flaming/acid/shock> of righteousness with risia frost (i consider that better than carnifex, and not cos carnifax has lower damage output on avg).

And thats exactly my point. There are bugs arround, that long, ppl dont even remember exactly how it was originally and intentionally working. Bugs that were propperly reported (and yes, i DID report it twice after u9, with ingame tool) and never a response/acknowledgement came from turbine.
As far as i can tell, the bug was introduced with th change to "right.", when they added the good aligned damage part to it with u9.
My original hunch was, that they wanted to change how it was working (adding another way of getting good aligned damage - neutral chars), cos it is indeed at low level with twink weapons and risa the best option and very/too powerfull (again, i know carnifex has the higher output - burst - if i kill though mobs on avg with 2-3 hits, instead of 3-4 with the occasional 1-hit-kill - burst - i prefer the first). You cant notice it from casually gaming, you have to pay attention to your tohit/damage/combat-log to notice its working or not. after some time they couldve just changed the description, short uproar, some - it never worked, lag blabla whatever - and good.

Whatever, as long as turbine is making cash, there will be no change for the better. And Maj doesnt matter at all there, he can try his hardest, if he doesnt get the support from those in power.
