I know this sword mostly sucks because it dispels the dots freindly players put on enemies, but I am wondering if it can dispel the trueseeing on bosses. If it does the resultant defensive bonus from displacment/blur effects could make the sword have it's uses. Could anyone find out for me?

What sword is this that you speak of?

Forget the name but it drops in VoD elite, for anyone but a paladin it is just a plain old +5 cold iron longsword, but when a paladin uses it it gets lots stuff... one effect is a greater dispell magic proc.

Divine Vengeance is the name.

Coulda sworn I saw this linked by a pally on live and it DID NOT have the greater dispelling effect. On lammania, yes, that was the sword.

nope, the true seeing they have is innate, such as drow SR or inherited immunity to poison.
so to your question, a big fat no
however the sword is not ONLY usefull to paladins, its very useful to lawful good alignd toons, but only paladins get the greater dispell proc
to be clear:
lawful toons get the lawful damage
good toons get the good damage
im pretty sure if ur a lawful neutral charcter then the sword wont do good alignd damage
just dont take me up on that, i dont have it, its just how i understood it :)
edit: besides, its pretty good as an off-hander for TWF just for 35 SR (highest in game as far as i know) and its dmg is nice
too bad it doesnt have silver, would make sense dropping from a pit fiend's chest....

It says "stripping away protecting spells". If that sword dispells Eladaar's electric surge or that ice dot or divine punishment, it's bugged.

It is bugged, was noted to do that on lamma, and tested again on live iirc.

That's what I was figuring, but was hoping it would anyway since the true seeing often appears under active effects if you examine the creatures even when it is an innate ability iirc, unlike drow SR or any racial immunities. Thats why I am requesting a test. Have you tested or are you just telling me what it "should" do?
