Is this a known issue? Since U12 I can see a mob but cannot target them most times unless they turn aggro on me. If someone aoes or I do then I can target them (the mobs are acting like the mobs in Mabar and the Rest (cove outside area)).

I asked in the game since U12 hit and most say this is a known bug but I did not see it listed.

I've noticed that some mobs can not be targeted via <tab> or ~, but can be targeted with a left click. The targeting circle also doesn't appear under them even after they're hard targeted and taking damage.

Makes it harder, with multiple targets in view, to know which is active.

I think this is the invisible/stealthed mobs being visible (due to a bug), but not activated yet.

Yes, same with me and I forgot about the reticle under the mobs that are targeted missing. I have to tab a lot and look in the image window to see if the named (for instance) is the one I am targeting.

sigh. :(

Its not a targeting bug, it is a graphical stealthed mob bug. The targeting problem is a side-affect or symptom of the graphic bug.

You can see a thread all about it here (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=349755). It even has a dev quote :)

Basically the mob you aren't able to target from a distance because they haven't 'activated' yet are still stealthed and your spot is to low to detect them. Unforntunately this is causing confusion because you can actually see the mobs completely and are no longer able to discern the difference between a mob and a stealthed mob at a glance as it were. That is unless you have run the quest / zone / area before and know that the mob is actually stealthed.

No matter what is actually causing it, it is annoying :(

Alright, this *IS* exactly what is happening because I ran to Ataraxia and freely spotted all of the Hyenas in that first 3 Hyena cluster and my spot is -1ish.

Thanks everyone for the help as it was driving me insane. :)

I agree with the above posters. Cast aoe spells for no effect as nothing as it turns out was targeted. It seems one cannot target a enemy until its very close. This is different and I dont think it needs to be stated thats its borked. Coincendence maybe but blocking is also requiring me to switch items/weapons to deactivate blocking mode and while in that mode my rig cannot interact with an item or valve whatever. Its been a while since ive played a caster and while i remember this issue before but it seemed more intermittent and now its everytime.

** thx for posting the link to mem's thread.
