New u12 caster items

id like to propose a double fix to u12. the frozen tunic is great and all, cept unlike the other elemental items, its armor. this excludes wf(pretty common caster race). the other 3 are all accessories. and simply put, with exception of fleshie ice savant(or earth/air who want a nastier niacs), no one will wear it, since wf cant, and wizards have better things to wear. another is the slightly disappointing new elite vod loot. my proposition is to upgrade the gloves of the glacier to have the tunics ice powers(would fit for sure) and make the gloves elite only loot, making elite worth going for. also turns the ice item to accessory, so u can put it with the rest, and not need armor slot. though i having 1 of 4 items come from vod and rest from challenges would be slightly unfair, so get glove base item(as is) and need to upgrade it with challenge ingredients. thoughts welcome

I wouldn't mind switching the Ice Savant item over to another slot and giving sorcerers a decent end game robe to aspire for. As it stands now, there are far too few robes/outfits for sorcerers. The Regalia is far too specific and the rest don't really have all that much going for them. I would like an epic robe/outfit that all Savants can effectively use.

The Glacier set bonus could definitely stand to be improved.

Maybe Greater/Superior Glaciation VIII for the 2-piece, and Superior/Epic Glaciation VIII for 3-piece?

I'd agree to this if the items got a ML boost to something like 18-20.

However, as a TR, you can use the 3 piece set as soon as you hit the level for DT armor.

The set bonus as it is currently is almost useless as a 2-piece set, and not much better as a 3-piece. What level do Superior Freeze VIII clickies start showing up? Or Greater ones for that matter?

If you're a fleshy caster, the Levik's Bracers are likely better for you for the healing amp (there may be others worth wearing as well that I'm not familiar with), and if you're a PM you probably want to be wearing the Demon's Consorts. As for gloves, they're currently the second best spot to stick a GS item on a caster, after goggles, so the gloves are competing with those, potentially as well, especially on a TR who probably will be wearing Minos in the other most likely slot for a GS item.

On a PM you want to be wearing the Shroud of the Abbot, while the blue dragonscale robes still pose serious competition for DT armor, and acquiring a specific Sovereign rune is not all that easy in the first place.

And it's not like the set bonus is having an effect on a lot of spells. At +50% it would be useful for a total of one spell: Polar Ray. Oooh! Ahh! It's good, yeah, but not gamebreaking or anything at level 16. If it were 60%, it would be a 3-piece set, taking up other valuable slots levels earlier than the really excellent slot consolidators (epics) become available for a 10% boost to your Ice Storm, Niac's, Cone and Otiluke's. Good, sure, but again, not game altering.
