People may or may not have noticed, but difficulties above Normal do not, ever drop components for Tier 1 Alchemical upgrades (tier 1 spirits or tier 1 binding shard fragments).
Can I suggest that Hard and Elite both get a slim chance to drop the Tier 1 components, so people that feel they have Normal mastered (and would rather run higher difficulties) aren't required to keep running it?

aren't they changing loot to scale more with hard and elite on crafting material quests come 12? I know they're making the 3 or 4 raids more worthwhile to do on hard or elite then normal. Shrouds got a self choice thing coming I think.

If it means that the % chance of getting the usual loot remains unchanged, sure.
If it means that because there is now a chance of getting t1 mats, the chance of t2/3 mats are less? Not so good.

I would have no problem at all introducing a chance for a chest on higher difficulties in level-appropriate quests to produce higher than tier 1 alchemical crafting ingrediants so long as this does not replace current loot possibilities. If it means that the chance to drop tier 2 alchemical crafting ingrediants replaces the chance to loot, say, tier 2 greensteel crafting ingrediants, I'd say "no, thank you"- but if there was a chance to loot the tier 2 alchemical crafting ingrediants [/i]in addition to[/i] existing tier 2 greensteel ingrediants, fine by me.

i'd rather they fixed it so that EVERYONE gets SOMETHING in the end chest like shroud...........
my guild finally finished LOB forthe first time a few days ago, and ALL of us were ****ED OFF when only 2 spirits, and NO cells dropped.
please make it so that you are gauranteed a spirit each run. otherwise *** is the point?

It should look like this:
Normal: current loot
Hard: Normal loot + 1 chest for Hard loot
Elite: Normal & Hard chests + 1 chest for elite loot
This way no matter the difficulty you still get mats for the tier of difficulty appropriate, and you also get lesser mats as well. Not only does this resolve the issue at hand, but it also offers incentive to run harder than Normal if your group has the capability because you'll be able to craft faster.

I agree with Sirg on the fact that normal spirits should drop on higher difficulties, but I don't understand why everyone calls for another shroud-like loot system.
The drop rates for spirits on normal are usually, at least 4 per run. Also, lotb on normal isn't all that difficult, and I usually only run it on my FvS.
Edit: I was also curious about the drop rates on greater cells. It seems to be even lower than that of martial/mystical cells.
