Just approved "Vaults of the Artificers" a few minutes ago. Expect release notes sometime next week, and we expect to have the release up on 11/9/11. Not a bad year, Crystal Cove, Update 9, 10, 11, 12...crafting, crazy beholders, a new class, rabid hirelings, and now challenges.
I like this one a ton, as I said last week. I see real potential to expand on DDO in some interesting ways, and even expand what people expect from a MMO gaming experience.This system has the ability to expand the team's creativity, which is always a good thing. Here's hoping for some more crazy in the future.

Mournlands: 404 is looking for more people. Apply! He will have a big post coming up real soon!

Community Bugs:The tool is mostly working. If you get a timeout or connectivity error, hit the house icon and it resets.

I'd also like to thank everyone for some of their input on the challenges, and their opinions of what Epic should be.

So let me ask you guys some questions..

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Well, I'm keeping it short again this week.Go Bruins (we got a win yay!)
Go Pats! Giants...Grrr...only one thing to say there...XLII...

Grats on finalizing the release, Maj.

I would like to see all potions usable when madstoned, just not the guild pots. I know this is a small issue, but it doesn't make sense to me.

i'd like targeting issues fixed wands missfire and random angle, spells random angle or too far away, cleric bursts,warforged casting reconstruct and having a fleshie in orb should heal themselves the ability to shut off lay on hands so they don't hit undead if i don't want them to.

If "fix" means correction to things that are bugged,

Prestige enhancements
Racial abilities
then handwraps :)

If "fix" has a broader scope,

Fix the way character growth slows so much when you hit 20th level

I want the "Death Penalty" renamed "Hordo Effect"...wait, you were serious?

Honestly, the one thing that I'd like most to see fixed/added to the game is Guild Ranks.

I loved that we could have more than a member/officer designation. It was perfect...except that it renamed everyone in the area! LOL

Spellsong Vigor not applying to Warforged

Would love to see Cleric Domains

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I'd like to see more benefits to live account from using Lamannia. As much as I like to see what's coming up, I don't really use Lamannia, because I get no lasting return on logging into it, stuff I do on live progresses my characters, gets loot, earns favor, etc. The recent Lamannia contest for turbine points is a great step in that direction. On a similar note, it'd be awesome if lamannia could be optionally hooked up to the main client and launcher, my computer is tight on space.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

Lag/whatever other things that people like to call lag but isn't technically lag per se.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Druids, druids, druids. U13? Please? :D

This makes me sad... This means its going to be awhile before all the bugs are squashed...

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?
Would you be mad if I said 'I would like to see working handwraps added to the game' :)

On a serious note I would like to see the PrE's finished

I would like to see the Uber gloves of rogueishness that were spoken of in the original ten ton hammer review of cannith crafting link (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=313478)

And finally I would love NOT seeing more crafting / barterbox / collectable / ingredients added to the game... we have enough of them...

Lamannia: I would like to see it opened all the time even after updates and have possibility to wipe your characters and add them back with character copy.

Probably spell targeting, for instance casting Fireball and mob dies before it's cast.
Poof fireball isnt cast.

One thing I'd like to see added to the game: DRUIDs. (would've said PrE's but thats multiple things).

What would i like fixed?

I would like to see the ladder bug fixed, and please dont ask me to tell you which ones, as they have asked in the past. It is all the ladders.

What would i like added to the game?

Finish all the Pre's. When you come out with a class, please finish it and all the Pre's that go with it. More races.

Favorite U12 change desert raid scroll commoditization.. even though I still have 6 or 7 raid scrolls. Then if they'd just bump the shard drop rate in EADQ.

Fix the lag spike that occurs every time a UMD-affecting item gets swapped.

The "big fix" on a macro level would be "remove wail of the banshee and implosion from the spell list"

The thing I'd like added to the game is the old Epic Ward that made epic quests interesting inseatd of boring. Keep the lower HP.

Right now, I'm having tons of more fun doing elite quests at level than on epics.

Quoted from OP:

So let me ask you guys some questions..

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I think Lammania should serve as the testing house where new concepts that the devs are excited about go to either die or be refined to greatness. It is painfully obvious that the developers need tons of player feedback early on in the process when it comes to new ideas. Polls should be common on those forums and should be heeded by development. If players are screaming that this new idea is horrible then it should be scraped and Lammania is a great place to preview those ideas without the risk of hurting the live environment. If players see something like challenges which are intriguing, but would have been a complete failure upon release in their original form on Lammania then the devs need to hear from the masses about what needs to be added to make them worth running.

The couple week preview of new updates...yeah I do not care much about those. If QA, ML, and the internal test servers are not catching the issues the pressure is already so high to get it out the door that whatever is on Lammania only gets tweaked around the edges anyways.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Hand wraps are NOT A MICRO ISSUE. They are a major issue that demonstrates what happens when you code something in a certain manner. Clearly the developers are having issues expanding the game as time goes on due to so many things being speciality cases in coding. QA is unlikely to directly fix that so I will address what QA does have more say over...

So the top priority to me for QA to fix is the release process. Something is broken in it. Far too much gets through that specifically is stated to have been fixed or that are fairly obvious potential consequences from known changes. The same bug should not pop up over and over again. Something that is stated as fixed should actually be fixed. This is a macro issue...something is broken in how things go through the release process and it needs to be fixed.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

I would like to see a customer feedback form as part of the standard process of interacting with Turbine 'customer service'. When stuff that is broken makes it live the GMs are the last people most can turn to correct things or at least make them a little less painful for the players. Quality of this service has went from fairly respectful and helpful when the game released to down right rude and pointless to even contact (speaking from the averages here as of course during the good times their might be a rare bad day case and now you might get the one or two GMs who actually still care). Basically a simple form. Were you satisfied with the service Y/N? Was your problem fixed Y/N? Was the service prompt and professional Y/N? And a little box to add your own notes.

This is of particular concern because when the BIG BAD THINGS happen to you do to a game bug it needs to standard for Turbine to help you. Right now that depends mostly upon luck and your persistence. On the smaller side everytime someone encounters a broken quest mechanic it is also a matter of luck about if you are SOL or if the GM is one of the few helpful ones who will respond quickly and fix the issue for you in less then a minute (really that is what good GM service IS like in this game from past experience and very rare experiences more recently).

Good GMs with lots of power to help the customers make everything that the developers mess up on and QA misses (or ignores and lets into the release) less devastating to the players and less likely to cause them to leave. Good GMs also provide back valuable information to the developers and QAs as to potential bugs and how they can fix them, because not everyone bug reports things.

I'd love to see Amrath expanded upon to include quests against the demons (Hey, that new Pally sword would get used!:) ) and then with quests in the Archon area. Amrath has all kinds of juicy plot hooks that looked really cool, but weren't pursued. There have been several threads on this in the past (including a fairly large one), but it could revolve around the Mad Archon, The mysterious being being held in the enforcers prison, etc.

Other than that- Extend the level cap to 25 and redo Epic!

The thing I would most like to see fixed is what I would broadly call "stability issues". They include:

1) Lag, in all of its variations

2) Crashing when loading into a zone. My client crashs about 95% of the time when stepping into the Sands wilderness area. Only time I seem to be OK is when the client has just been restarted. Have a similiar problem in House K.

3) Client memory bloat. Looks like DDO has some serious memory leak issues.

I really have no interest in even more content until what we have works to a level of quality that most people expect. I understand that you are not crafting a control system for a nuclear reactor, but at some point quality matters even for a game, and DDO is well past that point.

Update 11 was the perfect example of how NOT to do business.

The one thing that I'd like fixed is lag... >.> Maybe balancing in some of the spells like Fire Trap.

1. More Prestige Classes
2. Druids! (( Not because they're OP but because they're a core class.
3. Another WF-type race that can be repaired.

Broken Thing : First hit swing issues. ( I don't really have a huge list here)

Addition : I would like to see some love given to character management from a more macro level. As in... the ability to see certain information from the character login screen and maybe even do something about it. Some examples would be :
- inventory management,
- mail notices/management
- see the LFM panel
- access guild chat and /tell.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I think you're already really working on this now but a reason to play there beyond getting to see something early. The events that have already happened are a great step and it sounds like you have some further plans in that regard.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

On a full-game scope for something outside of your area I'd have to say the GM experience. It's inconsistent, unclear what tools GM's have available to them, and generally unsatisfactory by most reports I've seen. I don't have answers here and as you've posted in some other threads some of the more out of the box ideas (community involvement) has run into legal issues in the last few years but that would be my #1 macro issue.

Within your scope some more clarity on how certain issues are supposed to work. There's definitely some items that fall into the 'taken on faith' part when it comes to operation within game. Any time there's debate on whether something in game is WAI or not that's an issue. While a game shouldn't tell you how to win it you should at least be able to know the rules of the game without guessing and I feel like there are times this isn't the case in certain situations with a variety of feats, enhancements, abilities.

Finally, I can't help but bring up my pet project on the micro level. Please, please, please work out the various issues with the bard songs Sustaining Song and Spellsong Vigor. My main one finally made the known issues recently: "The Bard prestige enhancement abilities Spellsong Vigor and Sustaining Song do not affect Warforged." There are others as well but just seeing that fixed would have me buying a heart to LR immediately.

I have a theory too about why this happens. I don't know for sure of course as I don't know the internal workings of the code but when the problem first came out there were mentions that the audio that goes with the food/drink in the taverns was also being used for the songs. I'm wondering if it uses the same audio, maybe it uses the same underlying code as well? If that was the case it would simply be a matter of coding the right 'food/drink' by race when the song plays. Again, just a theory that I've brought up in bug reports in the past but figured might get some more light here. :)

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

More bard spells. Legitimate reasons to play a bard as an offensive spellcaster or at least to use the blue bar to add dps with offensive spells. I know people rankle a bit when you start saying, "x class has this, y class has it too" but bards could really use an effective DoT, an effective persistent aoe, and more efficient instant aoe's/single target spells. Right now there's little reason not to dump-stat cha and go max strength on a bard - even a healing bard. CC is iffy as justification given the spell selection. I'd just love to see a situation where you're forced to make a choice like what faces FvS's right now. Both dump wis and bump wis are effective for FvS.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I think Lam as a test area for new content as being great - but it would be nice if XP progress could be brought back over. It's fun to see new things and debug etc, but makes almost all that time a waste.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

LAG - it's getting tiring - getting random lag spikes in TOD when you're beating on Suulo and all of a sudden everyone is dead. It's time consuming (especially after the Mabar lag fiasco where I was getting extremely irritated by hit and miss lag fails in dragon instances) and the fact that completions hinge on the Lagmonster rearing it's ugly head and not the skill of the players involved is just frustrating.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Finish the Bard PrEs and add damage spells. I LOVE playing my bard - but other than CC I am absolutely useless other than with greater shout (the screaming kind of gets to me after a while) The fact that there are no spells above lvl 6 and that to be effective in cc you have to pretty much dump everything else is painful.

on a macro level - Epic Gianthold.

on a Micro level - monk handwraps... :)

Also,.

Earth elemental earthgrab range limitation.
Skeleton Archer range limitation.

Decent named Dwarven Axe's including a version of Krozeks cruelty.

Epic worthy upgradeable weapon for Paladins ( not just that sad looking longsword i saw)

release the rest of the PRE's and related gear.

Revamp of the crafting system to dump shards/seals/scrolls for fragments (more like the events) to upgrade items from each of the area's

Change the Shroud crafting alters to the vender style crafting. ( I use a decent 3rd party app.. but why should players need to go outside DDO to figure out crafting).

Retooling of epic gear in DQ and VON, like a really cool set bonus for the Kundarek gear.

Release the other 2 parts of the Amarath series (you know..the other two teleport destinations that are not active)

and finally.... A real fix to the server lag....

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Lamannia: Correctly clear and upload characters. And that's it.

Fix: Dungeons Alert on quests with respawning mobs like Coalescence Chamber. The bats spawn out of control and out of reach and contribute to aggroed mobs even when miles away.

Add: If it's ONE thing, I can't say just PrE, right?
Then I will put a list in order of importance to me. If any of it fits into a larger list you happen to have, consider it my top.
1 - Start missing PrEs (even if it's up to Tier 2 to start with)
2 - Finish PrEs
3 - Druid class to add to the healer(?) archetype, so absent and needed serverwide (but make it balanced)
4 - Kobold race and plushies?

Good job you guys!
Looking at it from the long run, it's a lot of work done over a year!
Some side effects were nasty, but were issued and solved mostly.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

More Dev interaction - you've got it but I've missed every one. So maybe more advanced notice? More weird times?
Also - character tools - persistence (don't wipe) and branching. Maybe a pin and rollback feature. Let me experiment with different choices.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Just one? Hard call, but I guess lag is the biggest killer for me, but hireling AI is a very close second.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Stability.

I'd be thrilled if you announced update 13 was no new features, just a code review and rewrite to make the game more efficient and maintainable. Eliminate your global variables and pass everything explicitly through your function calls. Comment everything. Put in local error checking with true catch and throw. Did I mention comment everything? Check for re-entrant code and remove side-effects. Document variable scope (and maybe even use a naming convention that includes scope).

If you stop to catch your breath, then you'll break this cycle of rushed release and panicked patches. Invest in making it more maintainable and you can tackle bigger projects and have fewer bugs to clean up. You guys work so hard and then have to endure the wrath of players when it breaks on some weird interaction with other systems.

And add debug code so users can capture and report state when things go pear shaped.

And for the love of all that's holy, put all equipment transactions in a log file with a 2 week rolling history so if somebody tells you a rollback killed their One Ring you can search the logs, see it came out of the bank, see it wasn't sold, and see it is no longer on their character. This hasn't happened to me, but fear of it, even with my paltry gear, inspires me to quit DDO and play something else whenever the bank even hiccups.

OK, so I can't count to 1, but on a macro level these are really all one thing and I'm just describing it from different angles.

Oh, and Maj, thanks for asking!

Rydlic

On the Macro Level: I'm guessing you mean on an over all issue.

Renown during events: Over the last nearly 2 month, we have had a constant event going, and not very much any Renown. Now some don't care but having a majority of my guild off doing the event make me irritated that I'm irritated. Cove you could at least get a once in a while pop in the chest in the are, but Mabar is a foobar on this.

Would it be so hard to allow some kind of renown drop during events, and make sure these Challenges also have Renown outside of killing.

I don't think it is realized how much renown comes from end rewards, and when you take that away.. well it makes it hard to climb.

edit:
Added to the game: Darkness
Allow Everbright weapons/armor/shields to cast a light in dark dungeons,
I love Rainbow for the reason so many hate it, it's dark. I get so tired of every quest being bright and shiny and allowing you to see every detail. Make more dark quests. Please.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I really like the idea of using it as a community driven bug-testing server, which would allow for the same 'preview' experience we currently receive from the server. Adding in the 'bug' finding element as one of the core values on Lamannia would serve be great, because:
-There would be fewer bugs and Malphunktions (no offense) making it to the live servers, so there would be fewer hiccups in the playing experience for most players (It's a real buzz-kill when you get a really cool idea for something in game, and go to try it out, only to find that the mechanism is broken).
-More Player-Dev interaction. We really do enjoy working with you guys, and feeling like we're part of making the game happen (Don't you guys love it when one of the projects or ideas you worked on comes to fruition and is enjoyed by the players?). That sort of thing gives a very friendly feel to the game that only makes it more attractive.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

I'd like to say lag, though I've heard it's hard or impossible to remove. That one can really screw up every aspect of the gaming experience. One thing that's related that I assume is fixable is the 'memory leak' that the client experiences. The more you switch between toons, the more lag you experience, I've been told because of some memory leak in the program. Having to do a client restart to clear things up is annoying.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

I would really like to see full prestige lines for all of the classes. Right now, the character developing process can be fun, but there is a bit of a limit to what we have to work with. It's disappointing when you run a class, and find out that there's only two tiers of the prestige to benefit from, when that prestige really fits your play-style, or the concept you want to run with on that toon. There's also the issue of 'cookie cutter' commonness. More variety is always fun. It's really disappointing to find out, for example that there's only one prestige choice for Cleric. That means that if you want to run a pure cleric, you only have one powerful choice for how to build them (in terms of class or prestige benefits at least). I think that having multiple (three seems to be the standard max), 3-tiered prestige lines for each class (and some for races when applicable) would really be an exciting breath of fresh air for the DDO experience.

I'm sorry but the only bug in game that affects my fun is bugged handwarps.

But if I had to choose somthing else it would have to be floating scenery (buildings in the Marketplace, rocks and even grass in some areas) it just bugs the hell out of me. If you need and will help you I will spend my time taking screen shots and coordinates\location name of every bit of scenery floating in the game as long as you can guarantee me they will get fixed.;)

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

New weapons (spears, slings, Trident etc) or New monsters (Any would do just not more reskined trolls *cough* RedFens *cough*) or even quest that use light (like rainbow in the dark but looking a bit more natural), would love to see torches in the game.

Though you may consider this a "micro" issue, from my own perspective as a Cleric, I personally would like to see a fix to items such as the Sacred Band and some of the Amrath sets - items which give you extra Turn Undeads or Action Boosts. The problem, which has been reported many, many times, by many, many players is that when you remove these items, you instantly lose 2 Turn Undeads/Action Boosts, regardless of how many you have left. So, using the Sacred Band as an example:

1. Start with 5 Turn Undeads
2. Equip the Sacred Band, rest at shrine. After resting, you have 7 Turn Undeads.
3. Use 2 Turn Undeads. You now have 5 Turn Undeads left.
4. Remove the Sacred Band. You instantly lose 2 more Turn Undeads, leaving you with 3.
5. Re-equip the Sacred Band, then immediately remove it. You instantly lose 2 more Turn Undeads, leaving you with 1.
6. Repeat step 5. You will have 0 Turn Undeads left. Note that in this entire process, you actually only used 2 Turn Undeads, and should have the same number left that you started with - 5.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.
Not for it to ask me to keep reading and re-agreeing to the EULA every time I swap to/from Lamannia, I find that rather annoying.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :( The Lack of the Iconic Eberron stuff, Kalashtar, Shifters, Changelings, Sharn, Eldeen reaches, Darguun, the Demon Wastes, the Lightning Rail. Make the world seem bigger instead of trying to cram everything into/around Stormreach.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?
Psionics this is Eberron, where are all the Psions, Pscyhic Warriors, Soul knives and Wilders (and maybe an Erudite or two throne in for good measure)?

The only thing I can think of that would improve Lamannia as a preview server would be a more streamlined bug-reporting system. I have no ideas on how to bring that about, however.

Spell targeting errors, but good job with Horrid Wilting!

Customizable ranger animal companions and arcane familiars using the artificer humonculous system or something similar. The primary reason I was excited about Artificers was the implications for other classes that I drew up from the iron dog.

I'd like to see Lamannia more volatile. Because the characters there are scrapped on a regular basis, I think Turbine could afford to play with things a bit more boldly. At the moment it seems like Lama is only here for "We're rolling this out unless something seriously crashes and burns". I'd like to see more of the evolution of the game's features as you tweak and balance the new stuff.

One single thing I'd like fixed.... Plat sinks. We need more of them. Plat exists for a reason, as player currency. When players put things up for trade but say "No plat, please" I get flashbacks to Diablo 2 and the high rune currency. I'm not saying you guys haven't been addressing it; I'd just like to see more.

The number one thing I'd like to see added to the game.... Psionics. You just released a class though, so I'm not expecting them soon. I've always loved Psi in 3.5. My favourite chains are IQ and Dreaming Dark. So anything with psionics. As a second if that's not an option.... Prestiges. Release new ones, expand others that go to only 12 or 6, or just tweak underused ones, I'll be happy either way.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I would like to see a mechanic for Lamania implemented in a similar fashion to the Chono raid. Where as Lamania instead of being on a different client/server is quest based as a glimpse into the future instead of the past. I'm thinking along the lines of a Planescaller type teleporting me into the future of Stormreach. I think this would result in Lamania getting more use from the DDO community. It would also be awesome if using Lamania helped us out at much as it helps you. Take away the Character copy and allow us to use it in the same way we use the character planner with one button level ups so new content can be tested with characters of appropriate level and we could use it for path finding new builds. As soon as you log out/recall character goes back to whatever current build you have on live present day Stormreach.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.
I am not sure what I would like to see from Lamania but I can tell you why I dont like to go there. I dont have a lot of time to dedicate to DDO in a day. It has been nearly 2 years and I am just now getting a character near cap. I hate the idea that
#1 I will put time and energy into Lamania and all I get out of it is ... nothing. My REAL characters see no benefit, and anything I earn on Lamania gets deleted eventually.
#2 I am looking at spoilers. Even the great Doctor dosent like spoilers (though I cant blame him for liking Alex Kingston). I am not the kind of person who reads the end of a book first.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(
Hireling Functionality. Does that count as "broken?" They could be so much more than they are. I mean, what kind of wizard has three spells? What kind of cleric or FvS has no access to any Rez spells? Why would a bard fight with nothing in the off hand, not even a simple shield? I am thinking of making a list of suggested improvements for each hireling (having played with every single one of them) but you will have to wait until I unlock FvS. I am planning to get it done for my 2 year anniversary in December. :D

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?
Everyone is going to say Druid. Personally I want something more Eberron. I love Eberron. I like Shifters. Fleshed out/improved PRE's would be nice, but I think DDO is missing Shifters.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.
I just go there to check out new things that might affect my characters on live servers. The contests for points was interesting but I do not really need points. Unique in game items (not necessarily powerful) awarded to a live server character would be more appealing to me and more likely to get me more involved.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :( Bard song bugs.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

I cannot limit myself to one.

1) Improvements to several combat feats.
2) More bard songs
3) Gnomes, Druids, Shifters, Kalashtar (IE some basic characters options that are overdue.)
4) More spells for all casters. Our schools are too limited and (back to bards) some classes are missing major areas from the core game, such as illusions.
5) Finish of the PRE's. It's been a long time and really should be a high focus.
6) Cleric domains. Another core options that would be nice to see.

Those all add up to more basic character design options. It's a broad one thing but that would be one thing. ;)

Well, I'm keeping it short again this week.Go Bruins (we got a win yay!) Good team.

Prestige Classes are top of mind.

I suggest the following benefits of a sharper focus on PrC's:

More character options
Benefits new and old players alike
Enriched experience for players as they try different options
More variance of builds; less cookie cutter (I guess-timate 99% of barbs are Frenzied Berzerker)
Improved satisfaction and retention
More $ spent in store, albiet indirectly

Lama:
- For content that isn't endgame, a chance for players to review XP, items, optionals, and the general feel of each quest, while significant changes can still be made. For example, if Coalessence Chamber was a brand new quest, I'd give the feedback that its XP is OK, it could do with a Cannith Propulsion Boots style item and some optionals, and the backtracking mechanic and 'must kill every random mob' ambush are frustrating and should go.
- For endgame content, keep doing what you did with Lord of Blades. That raid changed quite a bit from Lama to Live as you fixed a series of issues with it. But instead of giving out crafting mats to everyone so we can complete and test items, just set all raid chests to generate 10 times the loot on Lama. Let us see what we can expect from 10 runs of a new raid.

Highest priority fix:
- On the big level: Memory leaks when swapping characters, and the extraordinarily long loadscreens that go with them.
- On the small level: Make the Master Artificer optional chest drop, so we can actually upgrade Toven's Hammer. (I assume that non-functioning chest is where the Cerebral Distillation Unit is supposed to drop).

One thing added to the game:
- On the big level: An idea for a raid I posted a long time ago, still would like to see something like it. More dragon fights! http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=274081
- On the smaller level: More Desert-difficulty epic-ification of existing quests. Especially Gianthold Tor, Litany of the Dead and Tempest's Spine.

I think lag has been covered, so how about the Sub T in general? Not really a bug fix, just a "make it better" fix. Only two reasons to ever go there (the raids), and no one explores. Maybe needs a revisit.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

I would love to see more animal types added. As a ranger, it's a little boring charming/summoning the same dog/wolf or large cat everywhere. Surely we could get a bear or something in the mix. Or a badger!

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.
A true test server. Not just for new content, but a consequence free place where we can try out changes to our characters or maybe even store items to see if they warrant a purchase. Character transfers should be automated and relatively unlimited so if we do something we find we don't like we can delete the character, reimport, and try something else.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(
Most bugs I encounter aren't gamebreaking and can be easily worked around. Those that aren't are fixed...eventually. I don't freak out over bugs, even handwraps. The biggest one that effects me regularly though would probably be the SS Vigor song not restoring SP to WF.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?
More named/high level niche items. Where are the epic Dwarven Axes, the named shuriken, named crossbows >lvl 5, the high level handwraps (unstables and the tharaaks especially are a good start there at least). Basically I hate getting to a level and finding lootgen or crafted items are really my only realistic choice for certain weapon types.

-What do I want from Lamannia?
Nothing really, as I don't think there is anything to be gained from me being there. Having stuff granted to your live characters for quests and things you do there seems wrong to me somehow, considering that you can have unlimited mana via store pots, unlimited plat and items via the dev team spawning piles of treasure and unlimited XP (whether that comes via the 1000% xp bonus or the simple *POOF* you're level 20 advancement given by the devs). I am happy with reading the forums and seeing what other players think of what they see there.

-What is the one singular [macro] thing I would like fixed?
The memory leak. I've taken to restarting my client instead of using the /logout function to switch characters. Quite annoying when you're switching between multiple characters in a short span of time, but ultimately worth it in the long wrong to keep your system from bogging down and affecting even the simplest actions in game (such as opening the bank).

Secondary [micro] would be to fix hand wraps. I realize you said not to say that, but the simple fact that you did say that makes me want it even more. I don't play my monk hardly at all anymore. Maybe because of the hand wrap issue, maybe because I just don't enjoy playing him anymore. Maybe I don't enjoy playing him anymore because of the hand wrap issue. Hard for me to nail down for myself.

-What one thing would I like to see added to the game?
All the Prestige Enhancements that we were told were "in progress" 2 years ago.

Maybe druids. But please don't make them a silly unlock like Artificer was. Make them 3500 favor. Then I can play one right out of the gate ;)

things i would like to see:
1 fix the min level problem on cannith crafted gear, somewhat detailed post here http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=331464
2 fix targeting issue for cleric rad servant burst, it centers on the cleric, why does it even check to see what is targeted?
3 finish existing pre's and add in the missing ones.
4 show some love for clerics, recent packs and events had nice gear for most classes but clerics. the major exception is the alchemical set from U11 but that is a rather lackluster set at best. make some items for the caster and battle clerics please. also add in some spells. i find it very funny that a pure cleric has 5 level 9 spell slots and exactly 5 spells to put in them. Storm of Vengeance looks like it has potential and would give clerics and FvS a second DoT http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/stormOfVengeance.htm
5 rework the lamania client to include data logging on the client side. with that, when i find a bug i can upload the log to help you find and fix the problem. also include a way to turn off the logging so those with slower machines don't get bogged down and therefore not want to log into lamania.
6 if lamania starts gets used more as a bug hunting tool, let us be able to go to a trainer and level up to any level we want and to also delevel. while some may use that just to test out builds, a lot of people would spend more time there and more bugs may get found.

Lamania:
An official lamania-only found bug checklist. Ie. Players report bugs on lamania and at least there a list developes such that players can see what bugs have already been found and are maybe being looked into for that update.

You see this sometimes created by players and posted to the forums but I'd like an official one that i knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the devs were looking at and were aware of our issues. Seen/heard too many never head of this "generic bug" from devs when the players know they've reported it, maybe multiple ppl reported it, and players have been discussing whatever the generic bug is on one or more threads.

Fix:
For the luv of all that is D&D you guys are driving me up a wall with all of your various crafting systems and ingredients/collectibles that must be held onto and kept in either my character inventory or character bank. Seriously lets take a gander at that shall we ....we have Risia, Mabar, Cove, greensteel, cannith, dragontouched, trapmaking, alchemical, in addition there's the item upgrade altars in sentinels, and reign of madness, the cauldron marks, don't forget scrolls, seals and shards for epic. You're headed in the right direction making some of this weightless... but it really all needs to be weightless because you've surpassed the threshold at which I as a player even want to continue playing with all the inventory maintenance and stuff i have to keep up with rather than quest. And please, please, please don't give us anything meant for crafting or turning in - in mass quantities that doesn't go inside a bag.

Added:
Finish the PrE's already. That holiday bonus list was posted december of 2008. This reflects poorly on DDO. I want to brag about my favorite game to friends... I don't want to explain about so many very rough and unfinished things.

Just approved "Vaults of the Artificers"

grats! glad you were able to meet the 'proposed' date, and avoid a PR hassle from Fernando's 'official/unofficial' release to ZAM.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I'd like to build a character at any level, gear it with anything in the game, and then play any quest. I'll tell you why: It's one thing to plan a character on paper, but it's another to actually travel into the character's future and see how it will perform, and if you plan pan's out in reality.
I'd also really like to see a 'Testing Compendium' which, like our Adventure Compendium lists available quests, but the list would be comprised of content the dev or QA team would like us to try and check out. Maybe the 'favor' earned in these quests could equate to a reward of some kind. This would encourage more folks to play the stuff you want 'tested'... maybe.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

One Singular? Tough question. But since I mostly play my Ranger, I'll have to say 'Rangers'. And under that heading, I'd prioritize: 1)Ranged combat 2)Ranger Spell list 3)Summons 4)PrEs (TempIII, DwS)

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Pandas. Okay, seriously though I don't really know what you'd want to add. Druids of course, but I like the game plenty lots as it is. I guess if I was to bluesky, I'd say Random Map Gen. Dungeons that are different every time you enter add replayability and fun.

Thanks again for sticking with us on the forums Maj, despite our NRGGedness. ;)

I want the Pre's FINISHED! That includes existing and promised, racial and class!

For Lammania---

I think the Developers should spend more time running content with groups and guilds so that they can see what might be broken and get instant feedback from all involved. Also a system that lets you instant respec all levels and try out new classes without having to spend time leveling. Things like this might have allowed people to catch the artificer dog bug and maybe even the multiple past life issue.

Macro Issues----

First off we need to finish off all the pres for all classes who are still stuck at tier 2. That alone could add more diversity among all classes ( Henshyn mystic?).

Also I would like to have bards looked at because all the spell changes affected bards particularly hard. Those who specced for crowd control could do a great job at it with the spells at hand now that job has fallen back onto casters. New spells are needed to help diversify the class so they can be more than a glorified buff bot. I would even like to see spells like hypno made extendable or add pk to their repertoire so we can make good casting bards.
New bard song audio files would be appreciated or the ability to add our own sound files.

New areas to explore that use the planescaller in the twelve.. Those options have been there forever and it would be nice to visit a new city perhaps only for high level characters. The area could could be tied to accommodate an Epic level increase to say 25 that requires you to run Epic content to level to 25 and includes Epic feats or simply new feats like monkey grip. Simply put I think the high level players need a new city hub to quest from.

Stuff that should be worked on in regards to Guilds......We have large ships with a bunch of shrines but other than that it seems like a colossal waste of space. I want Guild trophies that are obtained from actually defeating raid bosses. Maybe collect fragments every victory but the ultimate goal would be trophies in the game room, or trophies that could ultimately change the exterior look of the ship. You could tie the trophy fragments to challenging optionals like marking the LoB . I kind of want a dead Marilith on the front of my boat.

A place I would like the challenges to go is having two separate parties competing to get to and end objective but every minor objective could slow down the opposing team. The first group to the end gets the best reward.

I would also like to see skills play larger roles in quests and a good example of that is party crashers in House Phiarlan. While the dialogue shouldn't end the quests it should make other battles more or less challenging or open up completely new sections of maps that would be inaccessible otherwise. This could add variety to quests and ultimately add longevity to them.

I'd like it to be a place of 'public sign off', as the final stakeholder in the QA process. By which I mean when the player base which takes part in lammania, and those that just comment in the threads, is clearly of a majority view that something is bad, the QA process should take a more public stock of that (I'm sure it does take stock, but it needs to be more 2 way. This is web 2.0 you know...). Surveys, polls, something. They don't have to be binding or anything silly like that, but people need to feel more listened to than they do now. They're plenty involved, they just feel like their contribution won't change anything meaningful.

Devs do contribute a lot publically during the lam process, but there's still too much 'company policy this that and the other' or 'read by a dev' and not enough explanation for decisions. Its great that we get what we do get. But more elaboration would be better. Are we owed that? No, of course not. Will it make folk feel more enfranchised? You betcha.

OK.. sliding while supposedly interrupted and immobilised. I think this qualifies as macro, since it happens under so many conditions: hold (y'know, I can't say I've seen it happen with Mass Hold. hmm), paralyze, trip, stun, etc.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

For the love of god, upgrade the UI. I dont' mean the look and feel. I mean the engine behind it. Its time. Port over the LOTRO engine, put the nice DDOstore-lite look and feel and lets work from there. IMHO it's missing/lacking in these respects:

UI sliding for individual components.
Snap to grid option for UI components moving around
No mouseover functions (e.g. mouseover partymember, see the examine window as a tooltip, or mouseover soft targetting facilities)
Unreliable tooltips (in that some times they won't pop up and you have to find the item in your inventory to examine it)
inconsistent vendor and barter windows
inconsistent and rather primitive inventory sorting/searching across the board (my inventory has an alternative view with categories of items. The bank however has no such view. Bank and inventory are 4x5 grid shaped storage. The shared bank is more like a vendor window. etc etc).

There's probably more.

LOTRO, on the other hand, has a fantastic, intuitive, unbeleivably customisable UI, and allows player custom skins to boot! I don't want the game to look like LOTRO, but DDO could learn an awful lot from the design of the UI.

I can't knock Dev interaction too much when it comes to Lammania. However, as someone pointed out, sometimes players just get the "what" and not the "why" when it comes to certain decisions that don't make much sense. Maybe expanding on the "why" more often.

The surveys for the Lammania seem a bit too focused to me. I guess you could claim that's what the forums are for. I guess I'd add two things to the surveys anyway. One, a question that is somethig like "Is [insert here] progressing DDO in the right direction?" Two, a section where the player must explain why he thinks it is good or bad for DDO. Granted, this will be the opinions of primarily the most avid fans, but it might give early signals on the acceptance of the product.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

I hope you're still working on the lag. Or at least making the less lag friend quests/raids less wipe worthy.

The biggest macro fix has to be all the incomplete Prestige Classes followed by the never completed Prestige Classes. Why do I consider this something that needs to be fixed? Because you keep balancing the game around the most powerful Prestige class of a given class. How can a Tier 2 Prestige compete with a Tier 3 Prestige on a pure class?

Also, it's really disappointing when we've had multiple releases with no Prestige classes added.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

I'll take your word that Druid is in the works for next year (although I'd probably never play the class).

I think the addition of Domains of Clerics wouldn't be out of line now.

More quests level 14+ please.

A single new quest with Epic difficulty with Epic items added to packs (especially low selling/run ones) with chain quests, such as Threnal (fix flagging please), Sorrowdusk, STK, Deleras.

Oh, in case you missed it already, release Prestige Classes!

What i'd like too see from Lamania is the option of creating whatever level toon you wanted and a special vendor that hands out stat items, such as +6 con items etc or level 13's and +4 for 7's etc.

That way if a new pack is targeted for say level 14's one could log in and create a level 14 cleric, or bard or fvs etc at start up.

Along with that a vendor that sells appropriate gear for that level, not raid loot just your normal stat items, heavy fort etc as not everyone has a toon at every level and every class/race.

Would probably be a pain to impliment though, but would help testing new packs and content.

Oh yeah, and make halflings 1 inch taller.

Please fix ----
Event based lag (particularly Mabar) The spawning of dragon instances can't be handled by the servers as currently implemented
For an in game issue - please fix monk splash AC bonus. It is silly and skews the AC in silly ways

Please add----
More character information. Why can't I see -
My doublestrike % chance?
My threat modifier?
My spell crit chance?
My spell damage multiplier?
Anything else that I should be able to know about my character?

From a gamplay side I will say add prestiges. MOAR options is MOAR better.

Sorry for two of everything.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

Personally, my time for DDO/video games is limited. I doubt there's anything lamania could offer that would entice me to play it over regular DDO.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Spellpass was awesome. How about Featpass? More useful feats would enable us to be even more creative with our builds. I don't have any hard numbers, but I seriously doubt ANYONE has ever taken the Acrobatic feat (+2 to jump and tumble).

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

A new quest where the mobs are patriots players and the boss is Tom Brady. I don't know what it says about me, but I'd take alot of joy out of kicking his butt. Over and over again. Yeah, I'd be ransacking that end chest...

Oh yeah, on 20th completion you get a Gisele Bundchen poster!

I would like to see the playtime invested there to somehow carry over to the live servers. Be that as Turbine Points, a special item now and then or even a special skin for a weapon/armor or whatever granted to those investing their time there.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

Please start with "LAG" (or whatever you want to call it) issues in the game. A good example is Shadow Crypt which has unbearable LAG issues for ages now without a fix. After that please work on the official and unofficial known issues lists from top to bottom until all issues are resolved.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

All Tiers of all the Prestige Enhancements. After that the obvious answer would be druids.

As it is now, but with the builds getting out sooner than they do now. More specifically, getting it out sooner to allow more time for the community to find issues, so they can be fixed before the build hits the live server.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(
Fixing Lag and creating a defrag tool would be my 2 top requests, but I'm assuming the lag issues will be worked on regardless, and the defrag tool might be a whole other team.

So other than those, I'd like the classes to be more properly balanced, and for it to be done without unnecessary nerfs of other classes. Well...all other classes except Artificers. Please feel free to nerf Artificers as much as possible, to even things out, with all the previous nerfs you've done to other classes.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?
Druids, and as a F2P class (free because of the amount of time we've been waiting and for how long we've been told that it would be released "in the next year or 2").

Lamannia: I want Lamannia to be the proof reading server. Let the weighty problems go live and fix them when you can give them the time and resourses they deserve, but kill all the reported typos before they leave Lamannia.

One macro fix: Social systems such as LFM social panel, sharing quests, flagging and quest timers. These systems are intended to 1) help players group together and 2) encourage players to play alternate characters when they're on timer for a raid.

The Looking for More social panel (LFM) should correctly indicate which quests are available to the player's characters, including all of the characters on the player's account.

New players will benefit by being sheparded into the enjoyable quests for which DDO is renowned. Veteran players will benefit by not having to babysit new players. Forum viewers will enjoy the serenity that ends a half decade of "Share pleez!" jokes. Alt-aholics will benefit most of all because they'll be able to tell at a glance which of their many characters is off timer and eligible to run a raid.

A helpful LFM social panel is an improvement over the current implimentation which only informs players that they're not able to play the advertised quest when they're standing at the door. Existing bugs in the LFM that advertise quests as part of the wrong Adventure Pack (Weapons shipment for example) should be squashed durring this upgrade. Additionaly quests that are cannot be completed when shared (Baudry's and Delerea's Tomb for example) should be fixed as well.

I for one would play more alts and be tempted to pay for VIP if these changes were made. I'd also be able to get my friends to try DDO again.

One new addition: A quest where you fight a Green dragon guarding a named Dwarf Axe.
But only because you already added my real favorites: Crystal Cove like dungeons, and named loot that's available only on Elite. Seriously good decisions. Someone should totaly get promoted and fed whichever god devours the really really good kobolds.

Communicated intent. Makes it a whole lot easier to tell if something is at least in the ballpark for real usability vs the the theoretical utility we've seen so very much of.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Toss up between real AC fixes to make a range of melee defenses as viable as burning everything to the ground without requiring an extreme investment in feats and gear, and ranged tweaks to bring the low end up enough so we can start seeing more varied quest encounters (After all, it's not like you can make flying mobs and the like standard so long as the low end is so pathetic folks not explicitly specced for it would take 5 hours to complete.)

Racial PREs. Pick one. Don't even care which anymore, just so long as there's some added flexibility.

One thing I would love for Lamannia: More character transfers from live. In the larger updates, there's usually multiple things I want to test in game mechanics, but only 5 transfers makes that difficult. Either that, or a much more automated way of getting xp and loot for a freshly rolled character.

The one singular thing I would fix right now: The memory leak in the DDO client. Leaving the game running for a few hours, or switching characters several times can quickly make the client just eat up system memory. That might be too broad of a problem though.

The thing I'd most like added to DDO: Druids. :)

I've always been interested in Mournlands. I've applied a couple times. But I'm content previewing things solely on Lamannia.

Hello All,

I applaud you for continuing your weekly dialogue with us. This continues to be a great game and the hard work put into it is enjoyed by all of us.

1. Lamania? It is displeasing to lose what you get at every re-set, and we all understand that it's a preview server, however, it would be less frustrating if we could take something back to the live servers sometime. Maybe an item or even just a title. Just something to ease the pain of knowing that it's all going to be lost.

2. Bug? Artificer Pets need some serious fixing. They bug out so much. They are completely useless maybe 50% of the time unless you log out and in and re-summon them. Mine likes to fly a lot and hover above whatever us trying to kill me. If only I could get her to attack from above......

3. Fix? Tons of character builds have been broken over the past few years and many of us have paid money to LR/GR them, however wouldn't it be great if you gave EVERY character in game a free LR/GR +20 token. That would be a phenominal seven year anniversary present. It would also make many of us lose a lot of frustrations and anguish

4. Desire? No way I can limit this to one, but I will prioritize them. 1st) Three PRE's to tier three for every class and one for every race. 2nd) a new race or class every six months with an advertizing/marketing promotion to keep the player base expanding. 3) New weapons (anything would be nice, but I would like to see some kind of spear for 2HF Puncturing.

I can't wait to see your response.

Thanks Battlehawke

Ps. New content obviously has to always be added, but I can honestly say that after almost six years of playing, I have NOT done 100% of the content.

The biggest concern I'd like to see addressed is lag. Mabar was just a small ( but good ) example.
Another is tonight, a three person team in hard Rainbow. Lag got so bad we couldn't switch weapons. All three of us checked out latency with nothing out of the ordinary. FPS rate was in the normal range for all three of us.
The most interesting thing is that in the General chat other ppl were addressing the lag. This suggests that it was server wide. Or perhaps central to the Vale?

Another would be targeting of spells. ( Comet Fall comes to mind ) The out of range msg is annoying, especially when the target is right in front of you.

Radiant Servant Burst: not being able to burst if another party member, or enemy is selected should be changed.

Another cleric prestige would be sweet, as well as the FvS melee prestige.
( as a matter of fact, finishing the existing Pretiges would be just ducky )

ToD sets for FvS added to the loot tables.

On another note: Mjr., I am glad you are continuing to communicate with the community, we all appreciate it! :)

Handwr.... oh sorry. Ok well this is more or less a fix, but I'd love to see more epic items (I mean the seal/shard/scroll ones) aimed for monks. I mean there's at least an epic two-handed weapon, one handed-weapon, most type of armor or docent, robe for caster in every adventure pack, but no epic wraps or outfits. The reason I differentiate this from festival items, is that for typical epic items, you grind up for a long time, months sometimes, but festival is a day at most.

I want something to strive for as a monk in end-game, right now, there's epic jidz ... and generic melee items. Why is it so hard to design an outfit aimed for monks, or any other non-armored melee for that matter? There's about 8 epic robes in the game, all aimed for casters, and zero robe/outfits for melee. (Except maybe epic redscale, but that's aimed at everybody.) Same with u12, there's finally one epic outfit, and it's again full of casters mods on it.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Hands down: PrEs.

It feels like the release of PrE is getting slower and slower over time, with so many left unfinished. I wish there was more choices for a rogue at end-game that assassin or gimp. I wish there was diversity in barbs, the class is already so mind-bogglingly single-tracked as it is. I wish bards could do more than sing then poorly DPS/cast/heal. I wish there was more to artificers than buff and pew pew pew. Diversity and character customization is one of the strong suit of this game, shame when so many of these choices are "bad choices" because it's still unfinished and non-competitive with the others.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

Well to be honest, just that when the majority of us, that takes time to log into Lammaland, say something has to be canned ( good examples : stupid UI change, bad cooldown change ) it gets canned before hitting live.

From my point of view, Lammania is what I would call a pre-production system, that is it's like live, but it doesn't carry the load of live. It's a place where it's possible to see things that cannot be seen in the previous stages, and at the same time it's a place where it's possible to get a feel on the community reaction over a change.

It's also a place where last minutes tweaking can be determined, defined and put in place before hitting the masses.

( sorry it's my telco support/integration engineer side that comes in front :D )

"

Fix being unable to hit things that are running away while using handwraps (try it sometime if you dont think this is a problem) or if that is too hard, at least make stun stop them from running away. Unhittable, stun me and I still run casters are very frustrating for a monk.

If monk melee is completely off limits, then fix the fact that glitterdust and sleet storm blind the player instead of the character. If listen actually let you find the mobs when under the effects of those spells then more people might use it.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.
I'd like more incentives on Live to devote some time to playing around with things on Lam. With things like renown decay and raid timers on Live, the only time I see myself risking those to play around on Lam is when there's something that could potentially greatly impact one of my builds, be it new loot or class/PrE changes.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(
Ranged. While it shouldn't be the most uber DPS due to its relative safety (compared to full melee), it should be viable to more than just Arcane Archers and Artificers in more content than a brief part of a single raid.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?
Epic Titan - or at least an Elite loot pass like HoX and VoD just got, or even make the loot upgradable like Abbot and Reaver. Give the vets who know the raid inside and out and have all the loot already a reason to want to run it again. Sad thing is, VoD and HoX really didn't need the love - people are always running it for a shot at a +3 tome.

Also, finish the existing class and racial PrEs that were planned. I want Warpriest already. :(

I really have no comment here as you've already stated we won't get a test server out of it and it will remain a "Preview" server, whatever that means.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Honestly, if only one thing were to get fixed, the one singular thing I would like to see fixed in this game is the issue where a lagging/dcing member of a raid or group can wipe an entire raid/mission just due to area spells cast with them as one of the targets (such as mass heal) disappearing into the ether for everyone since they do for that one person.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

As convenient as it might sound to let people instantly build new lvl 20 characters and gear them out to test new build concepts, I think this direction would be bad for the game overall because people would end up spending more time on Lamannia than they do on the live servers. I take the view that experimenting with builds is a large part of the game and that should mean actually levelling up and playing those builds live. However, players do need some sort of incentive to actually try out the preview content on Lamannia so that the server can achieve its intended purpose. I think competitions with real TP rewards as was done recently are a perfect way of doing this.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

Not wanting to jump on the lagwagon, but yeah... lag. All other additions are meaningless if the game is unplayable because it lags so bad. There seems to have been a huge amount of serious lag of late (in quests and even public areas, not just live events) which affects the whole party at the same time, so is definitely not related to individual client/user setup. I'm sure you're on the case already, and there are many other smaller bugs and annoyances I could list instead, but for the aforementioned reason lag definitely has to be my answer to the top thing I would want fixed.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Far greater immersiveness! Having played DDO for a couple of years now there's a lot that I've come to love about the game, but if I were to pick one thing that needs major improvement, it's that compared to most RPGs I've played, DDO's game world just feels... claustrophobic some how.

I think it's a combination of the fact that practically everything is centred around a single hub area (the marketplace), and that pretty much all areas where you can actually "do stuff" (i.e. fight, cast damaging spells, kill stuff, etc.) are private instances. People play RPGs to escape, to feel they are absorbed and immersed in a totally different world, and I don't really get that feeling with DDO. To be honest, with the vast amount of incredible content that DDO already has, I don't think the game would need a ton more content to achieve this - just adding a network of public roads/public wilderness style areas between Stormreach's areas/enclaves/wilderness areas, with some quest entrances and other features on them, would help hugely. To make these really interesting they could perhaps be done "Delera's graveyard during Mabar" style, with spawning monsters that can be sought out and killed (with some incentive to do so such as getting loot from their corpses) - pathways to harder quests could even have aggro bandits and other monsters that attack unsuspecting adventurers - there could be hidden caves and other areas with bosses in that require passers-by to work together, miniquests, and "outer quest areas" leading to quests (a bit like Jungle of Khyber has) but which are public and need to be battled or stealthed through to get to the quest proper, hidden NPCs that give rewards for carrying out certain tasks for them, and so on. Of course, the teleporter network (which, incidentally, I feel should attract a teleportation fee of a few plat so that new players actually explore the world), and now Airships, would prevent travel from becoming tedious, but this would make playing DDO feel much more like being in a true fantasy world rather than a game where you pretty much just log on, select and adventure and play it.

Oh and I know this has been talked about before but getting rid of the loading screens when you move from one public area to another (maybe in conjunction with the above, say by loading a nearby public instance while you are on the road to it) would help too :)

"-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps"

Very difficult to answer, there are quite a number of bugging issues, still the most annoying is the "loadingscreen monster". This creature catches us frequently on the route/gate between areas. Market to Harbor is still the most reliable place meet the encounter. I would assume that server overload has something to do with this. (Market and Harbor are very often the 2 most populated public areas)

Sorry, i know you asked for one!, but i cannot not mention the "all dreaded lag-monster". If this guy isnt kept in bay, that makes for very unfriendly people at high levels. People already alienated from certain groups/guilds. Lag makes us really sad. :(

"-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?"

High level elemental spells, doesnt have to be direct damage, in fact some really good utility or cc spell would be equally ( if not more) appreciated. Elemental spells that scale up to epics would be great. Some alternatives to the "necro ruledom" would be highly appreciated.

Macro:
Lag in all it's forms, from rubberbanding and not landing spells, to "the Ladder bug" (not just with ladders, but all uccurencies when you're suddenly "teleported" a bit to the side. It sometimes is visible by simply jumping around).

Messo:
DDO memory leak.
DDO data defragment tool.
Thousands of words have been said about these two. No need to add any more.

Micro:
Moving mobs that are paralyzed or knocked down is not right.
Update the functionality of the LFM and Auction House UIs.
Make the health bars of Pale Masters turn purple when they are in undead form.
Make the Radiant Servant Burst work. Now it won't work if you have targetted an enemy or ally. Making you target youself every time to use it. That makes it using in combat unneccesarily complicated.

Things to be added:
Lots of important thigs have already been mentioned by others. If has to be more quests than definitely more Amrath! That place has too much potential.

Somehow my computer decided to 'drop the connection' on the fourms when I attempted to post here, so I'll give you the short version since all my hard work was deleted:

When it comes to Lamannia, I need incentive to actually beta test there, not just a sneak peak. If I wanna know what's upcoming in the next update, I'll look at the release notes, not beta test, as characters get wiped, and theres really not much to carry over on live. Prize drawings for people who test the adventure pack, DDO-store items or TP, and even early access or some other perk for non-vips who test the for next adventure/content pack would be great.
One big thing I want to see fixed, besides handwraps(If I said handwraps anyways, would you still fix it?) would be the lag. Oh god, the lag is horrible, and its actually one of the reasons I stopped playing(Another reason is the huge power creep in the game). Frankly, I would just say, "Get a new game engine!" but I understand that it will probably not happen not only because of how expensive and time consuming it would be, but also because the world ends on December 21, 2012(Yeah, its highly unlikely to happen, but I still like to joke with it.) Still, I would much rather play a 'more stable' version of the game than to play a 'unstable version with druids in it b-slapping people with sticks and doing stuff that tosses clerics down the stairwell and takes their lunch money' version of the game.
New content? Forget it, I would much rather focus on actually being able to 'play the game' than to see new stuff in it. When you make the game more stable to play, or when the world ends and we're all in the afterlife, I'll see if I can dig up new content ideas.

Lammania - I am not to concerned with, it seems to do what I think it should

Fixed - Lag =P

1 New Thing - I'd like to see the base weapons/armors get updated. New weapon types like the Scythe, Halberd, Spear, Glaive, Guisarme, Trident, Flail, Heavy Flail and to see them added correctly, such as a Scythe being 2d4 damage, x4 crit Pierce and Slash. Armor I just want to see updated. It just really sucks that nobody on earth uses Half Plate, Splint, Hide armors, etc etc. The whole AC and Dex bonus needs to be reworked a bit away from PnP. examples would be.... Leather is +2 AC +12 Dex bonus.... Full plate should be +12 ac +1 dex bonus, and the bonuses should be spread fairly even between the rest of the armor... Half plate +10ac +3 dex bonus, Studded +3ac +10 dex bonus, etc etc etc.

Fix:
- Add Prestige Classes especially to classes that miss tier 3 or only have one option
- Add Racial Prestiges... Dwarven Defender would be quiet easy, just slap the fighter one on them and you would have made an old race quiet more attractive
- If it is not down, yet. Finally fix the Greater Dragonmark of Storm clicky "Lightning Storm" to not loose damage when you are an Air Savant as sorc prestige. It's a **** prequisite option so make it worthwhile.
- Give monks the option to use their ki moves with bows if they have zen archery and to produce ki while hitting with a bow
- Ki weapons in P&P allow the use of things like Stunning Fist, Touch of Death and Quivering Palm. So let me use those with a weapon finally. Or add some "Ki" magical prefix that allows it. There are really enough awesome and comparable handwraps out there that those light monks won't loose out if you allow my dark monk to finally use these moves with his shortswords... guys... to use them is his prestige power but I'm down to handwraps if you want to stun or touch of death anything... purely sucks

Lamannia :

I want a test server. A preview of stuff which cannot be changed, fixed, or stopped before the train wreck hits live seems absolutely pointless to me. Even if you only want feedback, there needs to be time to make changes based on feedback before going to live, otherwise why not just toss it on live, and get feedback there? Anyways, I'd like Lamannia to be about shaking out bugs (and the bugs from the fixes for those bugs) before inflicting the update on Live.

To Fix:

I'd like to see the bug report tool fixed... Seriously, the in game version is a nightmare to use, and the forum version not much better. The feedback from the system after you submit a bug doesn't exactly inspire confidence either... I find it extremely frustrating to go to all the trouble of fighting with the interface to get everything set properly in the form only to receive a message thanking you for your bug report on "latency" when the report had absolutely nothing what so ever to do with lag.

To add:

Finish the PREs, I know this doesn't make mountains of microtransaction money, but it would be really nice to see every class have at least have two finished PRE options. It would be nice if both were also viable choices, but lets start with existing.

Fixed: lag & targeting issues which are probably related to lag
Added: pre's & druids
Lam: have things available to review earlier in the process so feedback can be used

Misc other stuff I'd love to see gotten to:
Renown decay review
TR1/2 xp exponential curve changed to be more linear
Bump of quest xp given for some quests at higher levels that give almost no xp
Feat review
Past life passive/purchase feat review (help some of the worthless ones)
Finish the spell pass / enhancement review on the divine side

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

1. Prevent ML testers from playing live.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

2. Upgrade XP in non-run quests and add Huge XP Bonuses for Optional and Chain End Rewards (DnD is not supposed to be Zerg ENNNNNNNNH).

Example: Threnal: 5K for each mini-chain and 30K at end
Example: Blown to Bits: 5K for Disabling All Guns

We used to need 440K to cap, now it can be 5.5M, Adding XP as additional carrot for playing PnP again rather than farming would be great.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

3. Complete and add new PrEs and More Quest Chains/Raids (at all levels)

Well, I'm keeping it short again this week.Go Bruins (we got a win yay!)

Giants Suck !!!!!!!!! Go Pats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To fix: Revamp Restless Isles; I don't want to go there. Sweep the Orc mages and put in kobolds so we can get more grief when CC comes back. You rarely see a LFG to do anything related to it.
Fix the RuneArms end quest drop PLZ; if an Artificer finishes a story arc quest, golly he would be thrilled if a shiny new RuneArm showed up in the rewards list. I mean, that's what he always equips.
To add: More emotes! Like the ones in LOTRO, and they have a lot over there.
How about a quest pack centered around Celimas the hot cleric? But this time we rescue her! We see the other dudes in Ataraxia lounging, she deserves a dip in the pool too!

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

Lamannia needs to be a proper testbed server, not a preview of whats going to be wrong with live in a couple of weeks. Also, add NPC(s) that give out XP, Money, and Ingredients for the various crafting systems so that players can experiment with them FREELY and give appropriate feedback. As it is now you have players basing their opinions of system based solely on what other have said about it, because they lack the time and/or appropriate level character to test it. (and NO waiting on "Dev Events" for such things is NOT the same)

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Crafting System/Item Turn in bloat. Seriously, at some point in time some of you dev's had to have thought "Enough is Enough". I would LOVE to see ALL the different crafting systems/junk item turnins consolidated into ONE all encompassing crafting system with ONE universal "Currency". Seriously, give us a "New" type of currency that gives us SMALL amounts for COMPLETING quests (completion being the key word there) like SoS, Shroud, etc that gets "Pooled" and used as the ONLY ingredient for crafting + money. (then proceed to do away with all those 1000's of different types of crafting mats). Yes, this would require a complete rework of a LOT of systems, but you said "Macro" level so that what you got. (as a side bonus you could then "re-use" all of those icon art assets on other things and not be accused of re-using the same asset too much)

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

At this point I'm not so much interested in "Additions" to the game as I am in fixing and optimizing what we already have. I would love to see a years worth of updates that are nothing but bug fixes, recodes, balances, etc. Barring that add SOMETHING to all the Three Barrel Cove quests to make them worthwhile, seriously, at this point I think 5k XP added to every quest out there across the board STILL WOULDN'T BE ENOUGH to drive people to do them.

ALSO, Fix these forums, I'm tired of typing out posts only to have them lost to void because I got "Logged out" before I finished. I just had to retyped this entire post 2x because of that...

I'd like to see ranged be more effective for causal players. In any other MMO a ranged person can feel like a hero, taking on insurmountable odds. In DDO. Ranged is playing Sir. Robin. Bravely run away. This is an issue I'd like to see fixed. In my opinion, this is a case of saying "Devs deal. You have next to no fluff in this game to keep average/casual people around. people hae to stick around in order to buy stuff from the store such that Turbine can make profits. Increase the rate of fire."
Fluff being cosmetic control, hobbies for emotes/abilities that do not effect PvP or PvE but more RP, housing that we the players decorate, etc.

One thing I'd like to see added is actual cosmetic control like lotro has. By this I do not mean different dyes for outfits. I am asking for, wear one thing, show another for weapons, shields, bows, cross bows, helmets, and goggles.

Would like to see more incentives put in place to get players to get on there and run as well as report any bugs. Saw you guys gave away some point cards this time for winning some challenges or something that might be a step in the right direction.

Lord of Blades has a tendency to go invisible when you are marking him for the optional at the end. He will leap up in the air and if you happen to take him down as he is about to jump he will come back invis and can wreck havoc on the party. Seems he unglitches himself maybe the next time he does a superman.

What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Hard to choose just one thing. If I was going to I'd like to see the following post come to fruition:

We've got the Elemental Savants in Update 9, a couple of minor tweaks to a few others, and the next ones on the list I plan on after that are the Divine Avenger, Deepwood Sniper II, and Ninja Spy III.

That was made what 9 months ago and still nothing on that front? Heck Divine Avenger was supposed to have the first tier in update 9.

We were trying to see if we could get the first tier of the Divine Avenger into Update 9 along with the first two tiers of the Angel of Vengeance to make everyone happy, but deadlines combined with other events have crushified those hopes and dreams. The Divine Avenger hit some snags, and isn't going to be able to make it into the next release. Sorry about that.

Any idea when we will see some of these things go live? I'd be extremely disappointed if at least one of them wasn't in update 13. I'm glad there is some new content, especially the raids but I would like to see the PrEs released. Especially for classes that don't have finished ones or that are lacking.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.
Right now it is a generally held belief that "If it's on Llama, that's how it will go Live". And with a very few exceptions, this is true. And, people kinda hate that. There are problems that pop up in Llama all the time - things that should be fixed before an update hits the servers. And usually, they don't get fixed and the problems that were brought up well in advance on the Llama forums linger on for a month or more waiting for a patch.

This discourages people from participating on Llama. I know it's why I don't bother with it anymore. Why have an early glimpse if when a problem is found we know nothing will get done to fix it?

The Preview needs to be modified a bit, and change focus for Llama to be more of a public testing server as well as a preview server. If this means things need to hit Llama earlier in order for bug fixes to be granted time to be done - then so be it.

But, Llama has failed DDO in my opinion. It is nothing but a fluff server now, and one that serves next to no purpose.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps
The ladder bug. Please fix the ladder bug.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?
All the PrEs, for every class, and every race.
At the rate y'all are dolling them out - my kids will be done through college before we see tier three on every class, and my oldest is still in High School.

That's my Challenge Quest for the Devs... finish the PrEs.

I've already posted my thoughts, but I have an addition: Paths.

Most new players, and most players in general, don't come the forums, or use the wiki or the compendium. It seems to me that a new player will often choose a Path from the character creation stage, only to find out much later that their character is gimped. I think fixing or updating the premade Paths would go a long way to helping out and keeping new players in the game. Of course, this may depend greatly on completing PrEs, so perhaps those two issues should be grouped together. There was a thread in the suggestions forum not too long ago talking about importing builds from Ron's planner, or making them shareable in-game, or having a dropdown omni of the dozens of the more popular builds. Anyways, some love for paths is probably in order.

What I want from Lammania:

Less Finality on the builds there. Bug forums with confirmation or rejection of bugs/intended behavior etc. I don't think it would be that tough to have a single forum dedicated to players posting what they see/perceive that a dev can use as a one stop shop to confirm a bug or let the public know it's wai.

What I would like to see fixed: essences in epic quests. Are they supposed to drop there and if so why aren't they and when can we expect a fix.

What I would like to see added to the game: all the prestiges

What I would like to see added to the forums: a workable knowledgeable regularly updated known issues list complete with expected fix dates.

There are so many, it is hard to decide but I think it is one of the several "Have to click way too many times to do a simple things" type of things. Today my choise is the way too many steps needed to apply a guild augment chrystal to a worn item.

Current steps:
Buy chrystal/take it from your bag if you bought many earlier
Wait for previous guild chrystal to time out(watch a movie or something while the character is logged in so time advances)
goto altar
open altar
unequip item
unlock item
add item and chrystal to altar
click the use
wait for the long animation to complete
lock item
equip item
close altar

Steps as it used to be before it was broken in later updates:
Buy chrystal/take it from your bag if you bought many earlier
Wait for previous guild chrystal to time out(watch a movie or something while the character is logged in so time advances)
goto altar
open altar
add item and chrystal to altar
click the use
wait for the long animation to complete
close altar

Fixed steps:
Buy chrystal/take it from your bag if you bought many earlier
goto altar
open altar
add item and chrystal to altar
click the use

(Last week it would have been some other click 100 times like sundering essences or turning in mabar ritual items one by one)

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Item management: Ability to look at/Search through all the items all your characters have and manage them without having to log in each character in turn.

How about:

Click on power gem. It becomes a buff "in space" on your bar, or where ever storage goes to.

Click on item.

Confirm Item is the one intended/reject the choice/item self rejection.

Now you have the gem in the item.

Get rid of the altars entirely. 3 steps. For the Guild buffs.

OR-

Leave it as is- Take a stack of Gems, have the hours total up (Say, Max 60 hours) and reduce the number of times you have to go back to it.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? A Lamania cosmetic armor or Item for use on Live would be fun. A shield, armor, or hat with no bonuses but looked cool you could wear on live would get more people to attend events.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. The bug that makes players unable to move for a moment when hit by Disjunction in quests or when swapping an item that affects UMD, like a Good Luck item. In Epic ADQ this bug is so bad that when hit by a disjunction trap the player is usually stuck in place for 10 seconds unable to move while every item rolls a save and skills especially UMD is recalculated. The UMD item swap bug is especially bad if you relog to another toon instead of restarting the client.

** In order of importance to me**
1. THREE 3-tiered PrEs for each class. Starting with Clerics.
2. Cleric Domains
3. +2 Wis race
4. Druids. Not because I care, but because others do so much.
5. GS Deconstruction.
6. More class specific/PrE specific gearsets
7. Changing epic crafting to be more like Cove (i.e. no seal, scroll, shard deal)

I have no interest in Lamannia. I've visited it a few times, but trying to get my characters on there is always a pain, additionally it is a complete waste of my time.
1. Anything that makes it to Lamannia will make it to live, so there is no reason to ferret out bugs there.
2. Everything I do on Lamannia has zero impact on my character.
3. I can wait a month or so to see the new content and new bugs.

This is a hard one, there are two things which I think desperately need to be fixed to make DDO a game I will want to play past the release of say, Guild Wars 2, or Diablo III...
1. A complete reworking of Armor Class, which has ripples which reach out into many aspects of the game. I believe that D&D is a game unlike other MMOs, and it does not have to be built to be a ****** pleaser. Forgive the wording, but the idea that when players occasionally miss their targets it's bad, therefore we should change the game fundamentally so that players do, or believe that they hit with almost every swing... Nonsense. This is Dungeons and Dragons, not World of Warcraft, not Everquest, not any of those other games. Armor Class needs to be reworked, and you can see it every update. With a scale of 1-20 to work with, low AC characters types should never be more than 19 points of AC below the highest AC character types (of the same level). This goes for NPCs as well. Additionally, attack ranges should be in the 1-20 range of the AC of the opponent. So, a mid range BAB character (BAB 15 @ 20) should hit half the time, while a high range BAB character should hit almost all of the time. A low range BAB should hit almost never. The high BAB's have steady continuous hits, which is why Fighters are generally recommended to new players... not very complex, and it appeases the low intellect requirements of people who want to always feel like they are hitting. Meanwhile the medium BAB characters hit occasionally for large amounts of damage, a la the Rogue's Sneak Attack... (and when properly set up can hit just as often as a fighter, thus being great damage dealers). The low BAB'ers tend to have things like spells, which circumvent Armor Class. For an excellent example of how balanced Armor Class works in a D&D game, look at Neverwinter Nights servers specifically designed for PVP. Each style of AC (Dodge, Deflection, etc) goes to a certain maximum (usually +10) and the Dexterity classes get some help via the Tumble skill (+1 Dodge AC per 5 ranks). In the end it works out beautifully. With AC in line, NPC enemies will not need outrageously puffed up hit points and Constitution scores, spells will not need to do outrageous amounts of damage, Fortification, one of the ugliest things ever added to the game can be mostly ignored, and you might even get a decent PVP scene which some, not all, players would enjoy.

2. This one is of a similar importance to me, but that's simply because of my play style. I've seen a shift in how this game is played recently, and it's not something the players are doing, it's something the designers are doing. Yes, you control how we play the game (not talking to QA of course, but devs). Take a look at the solo only quests, which were meant to be a basic introduction into what a player might expect from the game. They are as old as the game is, and they speak volumes about what we were to expect. However, this is not what is to be found in the game. We need more than just quests where we run around fighting groups of enemies in various ways. This game aspired to be more than a combat game. But the changes made to stealth, the inclusion of Dungeon Alert, and the style of almost every quest in the game forces us to walk from room to room killing the next 1,000 orcs. I want a return to the original ideal. A game with quests catering to all sorts of playstyles. Fix stealth, let us jump and tumble while stealthed, to even some degree... let us use stealth tactics again without having overlooked abilities that still allow for it (Assassinating barrels for distraction)... Give us objectives that aren't kill everything in sight... and please, for the love of all that is wonderful, recreate Threnal so that it doesn't give me a migraine to blow through it on casual at level 20, let alone run it on Normal-Elite at level (Chains of Flame is another one of those Migraine inducing quests... ever wonder why no one ran much Demon Queen raids before the flagging change? That's the reason.)

Now then, the last bit, what do I want to see added to the game...

This one is pretty tough, because there is so much I can see wrong with this game that I can't really imagine a brighter future for it than getting rid of things like Dungeon Alert... and replacing it with something like, AI that doesn't destroy the framework of virtual D&D reality when it gets riled up.

Alright, alright, this is going to sound silly, but here goes. Mounts. I don't mean magical mounts that spontaneously materialize out of your rear to run you from one place to another, and once you get there disappear back from whence they came... but things similar to the Iron Defender pets that you can ride into combat. Maybe even some flying ones. Just throw one of those magical red barriers you folks are so fond of on top of the Crucible Maze so we can't fly too high, you know. The Fly spell, Levitate, an invisibility spell that actually works... you know, standard D&D stuff.

Although honestly I'm really quite sick of the whole D&D game as it is, and trust me it's not your fault, it's just that I've been designing my own game, and the standard D&D game just has so many shortcomings... like, the ability to have a chase scene in an adventure... total garbage set of rules really. But hey, you folks have to work with what you've got. So how about it? Flying? Invisibility? Mounts (and Mounted Combat)? ...and hey, maybe we would even get some Lances, Spears and what not... (oh, and piercing on the Morning Star, otherwise why not just call it a funny looking mace?)

Edit: Oh, and I know this is asking too much (sad), but it would be nice to have total transparency from the developers on what is changed in every update. The DDO release notes are a joke, written likely by someone who hardly has any idea just what all has been changed. If you change something, write it down. Pass it along, and someone can compile a proper list, and then you can give us real release notes. Enough with the cheeky language in the release notes too, just the facts please. It would be nice.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

It's such a huge download that it's just not feasible for me to get on it. I miss the discovery of new items, working out raid tactics, and seeing the new quests on live. Kill it. Kill it dead. Do what QA you can internally and on Mournlands then release it. I'd rather the bugs and can wait for a hotfix.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

More feat freedom; there's virtually prescribed requisites for near-every type of build. Tanks, repeater rogues, Arcane Archers, Sorcs... it's all done. Pick required feats 1 through 7/8 or be gimp.

Sid Meier once described good games as a 'series of interesting decisions'. While I agree choosing what to sacrifice is vaguely interesting where you don't have quite enough feats, it's more interesting and fun to choose say 3 discretionary feats. I have never had the freedom to take Sap, e.g. but I want to!

Maybe have PREs give functional equivalents of combat feats so you can swap PREs about too. e.g. Assassin gives TWF equivalencies, and Mechanic Ranged equivalencies, and Acrobat THF equivalencies.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

More monster types! Too many hobgoblins and drow. Not enough umberhulks and umplebys. The game's fun, but monster diversity in real D&D was a huge drawcard. Xig-ya and Xig-yis are crazy cool, and difficult. Some of the epic monsters I've only read about online on that DandD20 or whatever site sound awesome.

Carrion crawlers, non-soaring Otyughs... all of that. Ideally I'd like more genuinely new art, but re-use and adapt some artwork Vine Stalker style if need be; diversity of their attacks and play is the really fun part.

Well, I guess I'd say I'd like to see it used more effectively and meaningfully for test purposes and because you guys will need more consistant play from all of us there I'd like to see a real reason to do so. As it stands, it obviously takes away from a players live play and initiates guild renown decay(which I don't care for either), without any meaningful recompense.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Yeah, signed to all that. Well said Lucid and +1 once I get done with this post. I really think this would allow you guys to get your garbage collection in hand for once and my guess is that with memory leak fixed that might provide for significant lag abatement for many users. Besides that, I just think that the game would run much more smoothly and efficiently and we'd all be much happier. :D

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

I'd like to see AC be meaningful. That would be so cool, especially if PREs were finished too. (Did you see how I snuck that in so I could get a twofer? My druidic upbringing taught me how to do that. :P)

#1: On lamannia, I would like you to leave our toons alone when you re-release stuff, IE I capped an artie like three times for preview u11, go back to preview u12, and hes gone, along with everyone else i transferred or played. keep them, at least those native to lamannia ON lamannia, no mass deletions.

#2: What to fix...goes into the category of what lots have already said, ladder bug, and dont release something before its totally complete, stop being lazy and money hungry.

also please please please fix the quicken bug!!(micro issue until you experience it in an epic raid)

#3 I would definately like to see some sort of character based way of earning an income ingame other than the ludicrous auctionhouse,and smashing mobs to dust.( crafting does sort of, but need a way to incorporate armorers, potionmakers, smugglers, crafters, and general business types, would fit like a tight fitting tee for some of those role playing peeps.Would also allow the non power-gamer types to have something to do other than wish they were power gamers, and a way for them to gain gear and experience, and, that could, if planned right be used to help train/educate, or introduce an overall balancing effect to the server economy, that seems be much needed.

Lama - Some way to encourage more participation. Particularly the impact on Guild Renown.. if I am on Lama, I am not contributing to the renown for the guild and we loose ground.

Fix:
The Spellsong/Vigor not working on Warforged

Add:
Greensteel deconstruct.

As has been stated several times, I would like to see a major update dedicated solely to bug fixing, with no new added content. How many of the 'known issues' have been there more than a year? More than two?

Thanks for asking for the input!

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

Add an item that can be won on Lamania for your live account. However do not just have the 1 where a powergamer group will run through and win in between their raid schedule, add different ones for different ability levels for skill tests and other rewards for helping with the technical/bug side of the release as well. my reasoning behind this is when you log back on live the first thing your going to do is link your new shiny thing that no-one else has to your guild/friends. Then of course next time around those guys will all log on and check it out see if they can win something, at which point you can change it back to turbine points or something. The basis of the idea is that your giving something tangible that other players can 'want'. I think it could work. (of course I could be totally wrong as i have no experience/evidence to back up my idea.)

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(
You said one but I could not limit myself to one.

- Spell targeting - A fundamental issue with certain spells, in short they are not doing what they are supposed to.

- Ladder bug - Need I say more :).

- Bard songs not working on WF - I assume this is complicated as I cannot even see a reason why this would happen in the first place but would be very nice to be fixed.

- Bard songs not stacking from different prestiges - For example sustaining song over-riding spell song vigor. (just give them different bonuses so they stack? like insight morale on spellsong and natural morale for sustaining, we dont need to see it but i assume it would work just like natural armor bonuses do).

- Re-work old feats - What you did with improved sunder was brilliant, it brought a previously mostly un-used feat to the forefront of choices without being a necessity for builds. other feats doing the same and different things would be brilliant.
A few ideas; Improved Feint giving you a personal buff of bypassing a % of fort (key note personal buff like intimi gives a buff to hate as opposed to a de-buff on the boss)
Skill feats such as 'Nimble Fingers' and 'Athletic' give a second skill check per round if you were to fail the first one, ie, fail your balance check, make another. fail to disable trap? roll again.
Combat casting halfs/removes(?) the cost of having the quicken feat active (not sure if this would be a tad powerful)

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Once again you said one thing but I read 5 :).

- Prestiges - These seem to be the popular and logical choice for something to be added to the game. I agree in part while I personally rate it as less of an issue I recognise it is a huge part of the game missing.

- New Public Areas - I would LOVE to see places like Sharn and Darcat, i know adding a huge new area in one go is not practical but do it like you did House Cannith, add the first bit with a 'backdrop' area that does not do much but fill space until you have content to fill it.

- Epic Gianthold - The elephant in the corner of suggestions :) This is my personal favourite to be added, I really enjoy Tor and would love to try it epic, (make the dragon fights difficult :))

- New weapons - While rather low down on my list the rush for everyone to get a force Rahl's Might when it first came out just because it looked cool shows people would respond to new weapons, especially if they not only looked cool but were useful as well.

- More spells - Elemental spells seem to be lacking, currently I struggle to decide which level 6 spells to carry. I would love to be able to struggle to decide between spells on all spell levels, ok so I am ice specialised for the moment, I will carry polar ray or ok I am electric specialised for the moment I will carry <high level electric spell> for now.

-------------

And thus are my opinions.

Yep. Something already in the works.

IMHO, you just need to finish prestiges, revise a few feats and test gameplay. Make one update with that only. Now, there's plenty of content. And make sure paths are viable.
If you go taking a character planner and importing builds, that's pretty lame because it's advanced stuff.
First make sure that all prestiges are there and that they're gameplay viable. I don't think you need much art - except a few icons - and loads of number crunching to do that.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

Something that actually helps me on live. But not TP. I don't play this game to make fake money that can only be spent on this game. I play to have fun (which, for me, often means optimizing my toons while hanging with friends), so if my efforts on lama could somehow transfer to live in some manner, that would be cool.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Hand--oooh. Um...macro...not sure if this is what you meant, but: I'd like to see the end game get fixed for melees. Currently, it's a caster's world. I'd like to see melees get some love so they can be cool, too.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

PrEs. Finish the unfinished ones. Give us new ones. Hell, I don't even care if you charge us for the new ones (don't charge us for finishing the ones already started, and keep the currently free ones free). A couple hundred TP for a new PrE? Seems fair, and I'd be happy to pay if it meant they actually got done.

To answer one question, the biggest thing that I would like fixed is the client's memory management. The client gets more sluggish and choppy the longer it's running and gets much worse if you switch characters multiple times. It's impossible for me to play for a significant amount of time without restarting the client. Watching the size of the client in the task manager it seems that as it exceeds one and a quarter gigabytes is when the game really gets choppy and I have to restart in order to play. My machine is a bit older but still has 4 gigs of RAM. I hear the complaint often enough that it can't be just my machine.

Fix:
Consolidate buffs.
There are too many stacking buffs, which often makes the variation between max (the 1%) and "achievable" (the 99%) so much that "achievable" becomes effectively worthless. As someone has mentioned previously, AC is a prime example: Armour, natural armor, shield, deflection, dodge (x5), dex, monk wis, etc. bonuses, all stacking.
IMO, which buffs you use should be a tactical/flavour decision, and not based on how much stuff you've managed to accumulate on one character (though more stuff should provide you more tactical options).

Add:
Somewhat out of left-field: A public zone with passively spawning mobs (ala CC and Mabar), so one can test out new weapons/spells against level-appropriate enemies, in a somewhat more relaxed environment. A shooting range, I guess. :D
Might also help with debugging/fixing of the somewhat... quirky... spawn/despawn logic that such areas have...

Agreed. I really want these to be fixed as a top priority.

2nd to that i would like finished PrE for all existing classes and races. I couldn't care less about new quests/races/classes for the moment.

With lam

I would like it to be a preview playground of sorts, I think the 1000% xp boost should be a full time deal there just like sir pointsalot and ddostore candy (cakes n mnemonicpop) as a way for curious gamers to test builds in 3-4 days time without having to wait for an insta20 event (maybe an npc that hands it out for a duration 1-6 hours persistant thru death/rests)

I think it would encourage population of lam and thusly give people a purpose to do something other than copy 5 20's over with most of the epic items already geared out and ready to go.

As for lam being more of a public bug test place *shrug* some stuff that qa missed is found on lam but not much, more bugs are found on live and mourn and even more found by the qa team before that.

Or at least that's how I see it and I've been on lam since the sorc pre's not long but long enough to realise that what I'm looking at for the first time has been looked at by at least 30 people that are tasked with paying more attention than me to the way things work/don't work.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I'd like to see it as what's advertised- a feedback mechanism and a place to work the bugs out. Not a last minute preview to drum up interest when it's far too late to consider player advice.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

WHY DO YOU HATE MONKS?
*ahem*
Hirelings. Rebuild them from the ground up if you have to, just make them usable.

Oh, and Maj, thanks for asking!

Also, this. I can't seem to count to 1 either =)

I honestly can't say what I'd like from Lammania (Lamannia? Whatever) as I never use it. It just doesn't seem to be worth my time. Anything I do there won't translate to the live servers, and judging from what I read in the forums anything that's bugged there will still be bugged on the live servers, so there isn't even the feeling of accomplishment from helping to fix the game. Make it worth my while, even if it's only something vaguely worthless (The ability to change skins, the ability to put on some snazzy display that doesn't actually DO anything except look snazzy, a special emote, a special symbol by your name like TRs). Make it so that problems found can actually be fixed.

What would I like fixed? Handw... er, wait. Um. Rainbow in the Dark's light thingie, maybe. Had a friend soloing that on a monk, and she was finding it extremely difficult to effectively fight, because it's not a ki weapon. So, she could either carry it and see what she was doing, or go blind. It should either be changed to a quarterstaff (which everyone can use, AND is a ki weapon for monks) or a selection of items. Not dwarven axes or khopeshes or anything like that, but a choice, maybe with different effects. Club/scepter, dagger, quarterstaff, kama (for those monks. Hey, it has the same stats as a club, just slashing instead of bludgeoning), heck make a light shield/buckler option.

Barring this... hirelings that aren't dumber than summoned monsters that have been stunned...

What would I like added? Ranger companions. Clearly, the tech exists with arti robo-dogs! Let my ranger have a wolf or a tiger or something! (And no, Summon Nature's Ally doesn't count. Maybe if the CRs were at least vaguely equivalent to the regular Summon Monster spells... but summoning a CR 4 'pet' at L14 is just absolutely pointless. Bards (the slowest of the other summoning classes) can get CR4 summons at L7. At 14 they can get CR 8, which can at least survive for more than 2 hits (my Virtuoso's Bearded Devil usually lasts the full 10 minutes, thanks to Sustaining Song). At 14, clerics and FvSs are getting CR 12. Summon Nature's Ally is *useless*... but an actual pet that grows in level with the ranger? That'd be useful. Especially if the pet grows in level with the CHARACTER, and not the RANGER (for that ranger 14-15/rogue 5-6 that I'm currently contemplating).

What would I like fixed? AC in general and AC in epics in particular. Shields being relevant again = good. LOB not being AC tankable over normal difficulty = stupid.

Added to the game? mobs having access to dungeon magic items/special attacks at spawn.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I think it would be helpful to work on ways to improve the server population. Incentives that can be used on live, for example. Interesting to hear in another thread that Risia offered those. It would be great if the client could be packaged up in some ways with the main client but I guess that's probably asking for an impossibility. I enjoy playing around on Lama and I know several people who I think would too, but they get very put off by the large additional downloads.

I think the events are a good idea. I'm not in the core timezone but it's usually very quiet and so most of my exploration is only the soloable stuff. Anything that can improve grouping opportunities I think would be helpful.

(BTW, it's good to get the responses to bug reports - I know I appreciate those, so thanks to the QA team folk who do this probably quite thankless task)

edit: I like the idea of keeping the XP bonus there. that may well encourage more people over to play through concepts and get a bit more variety, rather than having just rolled characters waiting for the character transfer and level 20s.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

For me, the quicken bug on healing. That's hugely annoying. On a more macro level please kill the dreaded lag monster.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

I think it would be great to get the PREs done for the classes, so they feel complete. I'm curious about Druids but to me it makes more sense to finish up the other classes first.

"Fix" is hard. "Fix" implies broken, not simply unbalanced (AC) or unimplemented (PREs).

There are some things I want "fixed" and others I want "changed" that you could call a fix as they are likely coding / code re-use complexities.

FIXED
- Ladders
- The remove/re-equip drain-your-boosts/turns/whatever nonsense
- Gear swap UMD-related lag
- The 17-20 hireling vendor in the market that requires you to click him twice before he'll give you the dialog
- The way resistances stack or not (which really are resistance, which are coded wrong as enhancements, etc.
- Mouseover values
- Equip/unequip bugs where abilities don't activate

CHANGE-FIX
- FOM and Earthgrab. It should protect - it's part of its purpose. WF should absolutely not be immune, but FOM should prevent it.
- Ability for the stone of change/altars to accept more than a stack of 1
- Descriptions that match the true implementation - Deception, for instance, notes it is an enhancement bonus to bluff ... and it clearly isn't. The way resistances stack. Either change it, or change the description.
- Broken PRE abilities
- Ranged aggro, or at least explain it to me

If I was writing the checks though, I'd probably also want to know how big the breadbox to fix or change some of those are. If fixing ladders meant no new quests for 2 quarters ... I'll deal with the ladder glitch.

Fix: MyDDO so that it updates properly :) currently 1 out of my 10 toons is working.

add: ability to buy epic scrolls with dungeon tokens. I'd be willing to pay upwards of 20-30 tokens for a single scroll if it was an option. I *hate* scroll farming but I don't mind running the epic content for my epic gear.

other thoughts: having quite a bit of targeting issues while casting spells. it seems if I am not facing a mob 100% linearly (even if I am facing it and strafe, still facing it but not directly line of sight) it gives me a 'not facing' error. very, very annoying to deal with.

Thats an issue with the server and your client not being in sync as to where you or the mob actually is.

But since lag doesnt exist in ddo, this cannot possibly be happening to you ;)

You know what, actually I don't care what you do with the game anymore. I am done. Gone. Leaving for Skyrim (just ordered it), Dark Souls, Diablo III, and Guild Wars 2.

This game is just too broken, and too unprofessional. New classes should come with all Prestige Enhancements already created. All classes should already have all prestige classes with all tiers. I could go on and on and on. This game is just a hodge-podge mess, and I am fed up with it.

Jahwny is getting my stuff, so don't ask.

Lamannia: As said by N forumites, let Lama do something for the player on their home server. An aestethic armor skin, some free potions/boosters, a stack of guild renown for their guild, whatever. As it is now, Lama is just something to look is you are curious. And for many people, curiosity isn't worthy the lenghty download.

Bug fix: All issues with bard songs and WF/undead forms. I would say lag, but that is an eternal struggle.

To the next update: Prestiges. All completes at tier 3, and racial prestiges not counting as class prestiges. It's already hard enough to fit 2/3 prestiges on the 80 AP pool. I don't see why a ranger couldn't be a Deepwood Sniper from class, and arcane archer from race. The investiment pay for itself.

Would be good to revalue all paladin enhancements, and add to divines the same spell enhancements lines arcanes got on U9 (frontloaded 1 AP lines), and a good batch of new divine spells, and a big bunch of feat changes, like you did to Mobility.

Fix: loss of turns (eg barb rages on death or pos bursts for cleric on gear swap) is one of my biggest bugbears.

Want: gender change and a decently lit character creation screen so you can see what your character looks like better - I would think neither of these things would be hard to implement.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

AUDIO!
This may be outside your purview, but I want to audio options for DDO completely revamped!

I'm tired of never being able to listen to the in-game music, sound effects, UI or GM narration because I can't hear anyone speaking over them, even when their settings are at 1 or 2%.
I'm tired of having one person coming through my speakers so loud that I wake my dad 2 rooms away, with doors closed.
I'm tired of having to choose between getting that guy's voice low enough that I don't wake the neighborhood and hearing everyone else in the party, who are coming through with about as much volume and force as a mouse squeaking into a tin can.

I'm tired of listening to the annoying "squish" sound that comes with ticks of Death Aura when I'm soloing (the only time I can turn all the other game sounds on instead of essentially playing on MUTE), because I can't choose to turn off the sounds for ongoing actions or specific effects.

Give us individual volume sliders for each member of our party, expansive sound options to allow us to tune down or up the sounds we do want to hear, and those we don't (footsteps don't need to be louder than almost everything else in the game). Work in some options for something like game sounds being automatically turned down/off when a party member (not yourself) is speaking over voice.

The audio has been a problem since Day 1, and is the single most infuriating portion of the game, including bugs, grind and lag. If I hadn't been playing in the same room as my friends when I first started with DDO, I probably would have been done with the game at the end of that 10 day free trial almost 4 years ago. I sit and which TV, or listen to Winamp when I play, because those at least, I can just mute with one click when I can't hear anyone I'm grouped with.

What I would like to see from Lammania?

It should be a permanent public test server. It's happening anyway: Every time Lammania's up, it's forums are full of the community's findings and yet unless it's massively game breaking or massively unpopular, they tend to be ignored. It sends a bad message: *We know it's not working right, but we really don't care*. Not saying this is the way you guys really feel, it just leaves a bad taste.

What one thing would I like fixed?

Artificer dogs/hireling AI. So annoying to have my stupid dog decide to go on strike instead of murdering mobs. The hirelings are just as annoying.

Audio. Please, for the love of all that's unholy, can we get adjustable settings for the whole party? Do you know how frustrating it is to hear everyone sounding like they are mumbling EXCEPT for the 12 year old who's droning on at length about how uber he is in a voice that sounds like nails on a chalkboard?

What one thing would I like to see added?

PRE's. Seriously, d'you know how long it's been since they were announced? This thread (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=166967) will be 3 years old next month and only something like half of the announced PRE's have been implemented. I'd like to see all missing PRE's implemented up to Tier2 at least and no new race/classes should be introduced without Tier1 of ALL of their PRE's. Artificer came out with 1 Tier1. There's no racial PRE's. It's ridiculous that at this point time we don' have more options out. Please, can we make PRE's a priority and get them done already?

What I would like from Lamannia, is a better plan to preview things and to make improvements based upon feed back before they go live rather than an upcoming patch at some date in the future. I don't need to see all the new content the day Lammania goes live I am more concerned about changes to systems.

I would like to see more character build styles be useful in the game than the current system.

I would like to see the doors ripped off public instances and entrances to adventure areas using Dynamic layers. There is no reason for us to see soo mannnnnyyyy loading screens when you already have the tools to fix this.

It hasn't worked well in so long it's nto worth my time or frustration to bother till something so important actually works, and that reports ahve even a reasoanble chance of being read and utilized. Either it's been bugged or the vast majority of actual bugs reported are ignored.

-[QUOTE]What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

While you all have gone miles to interact more on the Lama forums. I would like to see more work done on the vast amount of player reported issues while the build is on Lama. I kwow there's time constraints.. But still there's far too many VERY large bugs, ones that are important to the PLAYERS, reported by the players and left to go live, to MAYBE be taken care of in a patch, or left on the very long lsit of *soon.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

I would like to see work done ont he massive memory leaks that come about after having played for more than an hour or so, as well as when a player changes toons. It seems to have to do with how graphics for areas are cached as well as how specific character information. This has been a problem that's been around around for at least 3 years. I( always go back to quests, feats, spells, fancy weapons.. All great but whne players ahve to constantly reboot every couple of hours or after a few toons switches.. Well all those other things don't matter much .

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Finish existing PREs.... Have at least 2-3 lines for each CURRENT class starting with the ORIGINAL game classes. Oh and 1 more thing.. An enhancement line for clerics/FvS.. So they can have 1k blade barriers like Artificers... I know I know you need to make them overpoewered so the people will pay $$$$ for Artificers.. But still...

And one last thing.. PLEASE HAVE THEM WORK ONT HE FORUMS.. This cookie expiring so fast as well as the time out set to whatever short time it is set for sucks ;)

What I would like to see added to the game, on a macro level, is a change to item rewards.

We've started to see this now, with Runearms, but I believe that a better option than, say, current alchemical weapons, would be to place named "semi-blanks" in the game that have certain properties of their own but also can be customized via Cannith crafting.

For example, instead of that absurd divine avenger sword from elite VoD, place a +5, Cold Iron, Holy Burst longsword to which you can add a prefix and a suffix totalling no more than +7.

ADD : a new race with a +2 wisdom, because it's missing. (and not gnomes^^)

Shifters are a +Wis race, IIRC.

I'd like more opportunities to participate. I love the events but I usually miss them because I work weekends. More events at different days/times would be nice, if it looks like there would be enough attendance to justify the effort, of course.

I don't know if player participation is meeting what you guys want on Lamannia, but I spoke to some folks who never go to Lama-land. Main thing I hear (and am reading here) is that they don't want to spend limited free time there that they could be spending on live when nothing carries over. Obviously nothing major should carry over, but perhaps more TP contests, a Lamannia-themed cosmetic item or party favors along the lines of the swag bags could provide more incentive to get more players over there.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

The pre-made paths is a good one. Glad to hear those are being worked on. It would be a lot easier to convince some of my friends to try out DDO if I didn't have to overwhelm them with so much character creation advice/resources right off the bat (okay, maybe I'm a little overly-enthusiastic about character customization:p). Paths let them ease into it. Even though you're already on it, thought I'd throw in a thumbs up on it being an excellent fix to help draw/retain new players.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

In addition to the great ideas already mentioned, something a little lower priority that I often find myself thinking on is the expansion of the cosmetic section of the store. I know it's fluff but, after account options, that's one of the main things the store should be for in my opinion. Some starter thoughts:

-Custom armor appearance utilizing the already existing art from random armor. Could be skins or even Cannith craftable blanks.
-More hairstyle/color options (mainly I'd like a purple hair dye that wasn't so pink or how about real mohawks for females?)
-Option to redo a character's appearance without an LR (call it a morphology spell?)
-Guild ship furniture/decor sets, perhaps inspired by the different houses.
-Guildship tapestries/trophies, unlockable when a guild member has completed certain content.

Again, obviously not high priority stuff, but I for one would spend plenty on things like these.

Thanks for asking, and for continuing these communications Maj!

Lamannia:

I'd like to see clear communication about what it's meant to be. If it's a preview server and nothing can be changed, then make it clear.

More events at more times. It's fun to see the big bosses wipe out everyone in the enclave.

Add to the game on a macro level:

Feedback. Communication with the player base. Acknowledgement that you heard us. Reasons why things can't/won't be done. Include us on the plans.

I'm not sure what the management thinks that being secretive does for the game. It sure does not build suspense or excitement- it's resentment, distrust and disappointment.

Maybe there are other MMO's out there going to scoop your ideas and steal your players... but I doubt it. Even if they are, you need to decide who is more important... your customers or your competition?

I'm not saying we have to know every little detail or vague future plan, but once it's firmly on the drawing board and being developed, let us know it's coming at some point. No dates, because then people think that's a "promise" but a clear definition that things are being developed and then give us updates on the progress.

Maj

A little feedback since you're requested it....

What would I like from Lamannia? to be honest, I recall having difficulty logging in with the regular game after installing the Lamannia server.... so I don't trust it, and don't use it. I like to hear about what's coming up in the next patches, but that's about it.

The one singular thing to fix: I have 3, but they are all pretty good.

Dungeon Alert. It's just not quite right. I'm sure it helps lag, but I hate it. You should be able to use tactics, such as split the party and go in different directions... like a tactical assault... I think if dungeon alert was limited to line of sight or radius, it would be more productive. Also, with so many quests in explorer areas that don't have shrines at the doorway, I want to enter a quest with as many resources as possible... giving me a reason to run there, over fighting my way. If the mechanic of entering a quest worked the same as leaving a quest (full mana/health bars), I'd be more inclined to kill along the way. When I eventually leave DDO, Dungeon Alert will be the second reason I give for quitting. (I don't have a first reason, so I'm still here). I think if you ask around, Dungeon Alert is the most infuriating mechanic in the game.

Crafting. There are up to 20 different crafting mechanics in the game. It's like someone decided we needed crafting, then someone else had a better idea, then someone else had a different idea.... etc. There's no continuity. Even with the addition of the barter box, it still seems haphazard. Everything is segmented by it's update pack. I think much fewer ingredients, with cross functions (funery tokens work in the Orchard, Mabar, the Desert, and most other Undead locations... but trading 3 intact fingerbones to a vendor will give you a funery token, OR maybe going as far as Festivult Twigs are used in EVERY wand recipe, but there's also a way to take a Splintered Wood and X to make a substitute). Gives it a sense of continuity.

Ledge Grabbing Consistency. Sometimes when my character is falling, he grabs a ledge, but it isn't conisistent. I'm sure it's disabled in Coalesence Chamber to add to the difficulty... but it really shouldn't be. There are places all over the game where you'd expect to grab a ledge and climb up... only to find yourself bouncing off the ledge...

Bonus thing to fix. Bouncing off angled surfaces. There's just no reason hitting an angled slope should send you uncontrollably soaring off in 1 direction. Esp with Feather-Fall, Slowfall, etc. active. For example.... If I were to Featherfall off the Hancock Building, and bounce off a window washing platform, I shouldn't end up in Quincy Market!

What would I like to see added to the game? What happened to +Sir Lawrence!!??? Also, Guild Capes!

Yep. Something already in the works.

Honestly?

It ties in with this:

WE WANT PRE'S (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=349081)

Finish the dang PRE's and then make all paths corrospond to their PREs. Solution implemented.

We want PREs done. This would also be a paths solution.

The audio could use some work, especially being able to selectively choose the volume for certain people... But maybe you need some headphones, or a better sound card or something... I have zero problems hearing people over the game sounds (which are excellent) by putting the game sounds very low, and voice chat very high.

I'm sorry you've missed out on all the good DM voices, and sound effects over these years.

PrE's completed.

For those of us that have been around a while, these not being completed are starting to become a running joke :D

What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

In the old days, accounts were capped at much much lower number of character slots. That left many of us who wanted more characters to create (and pay full price for) additional accounts. For years we continued to pay for these because it continued to feel "worth it".

With the addition of BTA gear, the desire to maintain multiple accounts has been diminishing leaving many accounts unattended and in many cases scrapped all together. Don't get me wrong, I really love the idea and think it was a great addition to the game.

The one thing I would absolutely love would be to allow us to merge characters from multiple accounts into a single account. Even if this means paying on a per character basis, at least give us the option to move them.

Secondary, I think guild augment slots should get some love. The ability to at least extend an existing augment without having to let it expire first. Entering into a raid with only 10 minutes left on the augment slot can get annoying sometimes. I could go on here with loads of idea's on how these could be "fixed", but I'm sure there would be great feedback from the community should you ask for it.

Add to the game on a macro level:

2 fixes I'd like most to see:
poor performance (most call it "lag" regardless of the more precise term)
Crashes on entering zones (often referred to as "memorey leaks")

Continued development:
Prestige enhancements.
Races and classes

btw, still lovin' this game! Great work Maj + crew!

Lammania should be a server in the normal list, not a separaet client. When you log in you choos a toon frm one of the other servers to play.

Lammania should be the level 2 server over Mournlands ( server level 1, the concepts server, all kinds of dev ideas out here), Prod servers would be level 3. If some concept is OK'd on Mournlands (server 1) it bunle of code is moved to lammania (servwer 2), as the bugs get worked out of that code bundle, the bundle gets added to the Prod (server/s 3) deployment that would deploy on a set date. If the change is not woking as intended , that code bundle dosent get deployed to the Pord server/s until it works correctly. You package the entire "UPDATE" deploymet too early, you get stuck deploying defective code because of this. Package the Update after you get to Lammania, let us look at and test the code BEFORE you decide what goes in on the UPDATE launch date, only deploy what works. If someting has to wait for the next deployment, it waits. Fix it first, deploy a QUALITY product the first time around. It works, thats how we do it and it WORKS, it can be done it just takes a few extra steps.

Finish the base game, I could name a hundred 'promises' but how about...

PRE's fro ALL classes, up to LEVEL 3. If you don't know what you want? Start a threat we will tell you what we expect)
Cleric Domains - Common +3 sheld bashes.; -10 SP! ;() It isn't over powering, but it is a bit of flavoring
Druid (this horrible horrible class, but you already started it so finish it and I can stop listining to the pouting)
Update the Enhacements/feats to be a part of today's level 20 game as necessary you fixed a couple weak ones, do a good one over on all of them
Fix the minor bugs, wrong item names, bad descriptions and little things you know about, I am sure you have a LOT. Have a dev contest who can fix the most is 1 day...
You started shavrath you have other desitnations in the teleporter, wher'd those plans go? LM Plaza and House C definetly are not what we were expecting.... All they gave us was more crappy crafting junk.
More new monster flavors... Displacer Beasts, Owl Bears and Planars...

A simplified UNIVERSAL crafting system, what Cannith Crafting SHOULD have been...
But the number freekin one (#1) thing I want to see fixed is your memory leak that crashes me out of the game when I enter GH or the Desert after being on for a while switching betwen toons. GOD that is annoying having to relog.

Fix? Roll back weapon changes.

As for the events, you people are going to lose more established players with the advent of challenges & not more end game content.

The new challenges are fun, don't get me wrong, you all did a bang-up job on them, kudos, gratz... but in the end, they are not the "hand-crafted" quests Turbine is known for.

Ive read all the interviews, played the events for one day (thats enough for me to make my decision), and the idea that these event will give you more creative flexibility might be true, but we the players don't need or want more events!
Haven't you all been reading all the neg posts about them?

I'll stay away from another grind/ crafting/ store debacle thanks.

I love this game, but these cutesy little events are going to kill DDO and what it is known for, the best combat system in any mmo.

Try balancing the game first, amend Pre's, get a new server lease & fix the bandwidth issue, etc, etc...

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

1. Leave the server up all the time. EVE Online leaves their test server running all the time, but resets it every few weeks. This is a great service to players who, by using the test server, also help the company. In return the players can check out interesting stuff, try new ideas etc, without using too many resources. But it is important to reset it regularly to avoid it just becoming a new 'live' server.

2. A trader who hands out all raid or rare loot. Again, useful for testing etc.

3. More flexibility in delaying releases. We have seen to really very good responses this year, in terms of actually responding to changes that were not so successful on Lamannia. Releasing stuff there and saying "it's too late to change" really reduces any sense of teamwork that might be fostered.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Reduce grind:

- 20th raids should drop all named items
- 20th quests should drop all named quest-specific items.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

(edit: added second thing)

Two things:

1. Tome portability across TRs.

2. Set a cap on SP Pot consumption per quest/time.

What woould you like to be added to the game -

I would like a drop down menu/instant teleport that allows you to move to any place in the game that you have visited.

Now the games so large there's a lot of time wasted porting through many instances to get to a quest and I can imagine it places unnecessary strain on the server not to mention cutting into our gaming time.

Keep up the good work Turbine Team

If you're tired of people complaining about handwraps, then fix them. Seriously.

I can't speak to Lammania, as I've not understood the draw to go there other than curiosity...i.e., i think you're right - no incentive to participate, really.

I would like to see one thing added - take the list of known issues and bugs - How many pages of known issues are there? How many confirmed bugs are in your bugtracker? ...and fix them.

Not to sound too too Six Sigma-y; but the problem with DDO (after update 11 patch 1) are not hugenormous game-stopping bugs, but the sheer volume of defects. It's the little nit-noid bugs or signs of un-finished-ness we see/experience every single time we turn around. Maybe not game-breaking, but it begins to build up.

fco-karatekid
11-07-2011, 08:22 PM
More Dev interaction - you've got it but I've missed every one. So maybe more advanced notice? More weird times?
Also - character tools - persistence (don't wipe) and branching. Maybe a pin and rollback feature. Let me experiment with different choices.

Just one? Hard call, but I guess lag is the biggest killer for me, but hireling AI is a very close second.

I just realized I didn't thank maj, so YES! Thanks for asking!!

And this post is one of the most insightful I think I've seen... +1

I would like for the Devs to pay more attention to the big threads caused by very BAD ideas. I'm looking at you, Dungeon Alert.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

Handwraps. Ok, ranged alacrity is broken, ranged with haste/haste boost is broken. It has been calculated many, many times they only provide, at most, 50% of the intended speed boost. If you would just fix these a "ranged pass" would not be necessary.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

The ability to get every bit of information possible about all my characters and everything in their bank slots and the shared bank through a public API. You guys really don't seem to understand the possibilities this would open up.

Partydeluxe

an alter to deconstruct greensteel and stone of change recipes and to 'clear' tod rings would be nice.

oh you said fix.... My vote would be a complete pass on all the broken/useless feats in the game.

/signed both of those

Even if it just returned only half of your ingreds or none even, I would definately use it.
Having useless ToD rings in your bank while grinding for those exact same rings -again- but without the filled slot = no fun at all.

Fixing?
Lag, Bugs, Handwraps (which could be considered bugged), Pres.

Lam?
Some value for the time to Alpha test the next release. If I take my level 8 character there and go up a level, I want to get something back on the live level. Otherwise, it's 5 minutes to see the new and then out.
Also - how about freeing up the boat to allow characters advance to any level. If you give us level 15 content and I don't have a level 15 bard to try it, it's not worth the time to build/advance one. For Artis testing, you gave bonus experience. But I don't have weeks to get a character to that level. It's a test server with no connection back to the main server, so why worry. Unless you are going to allow an experience back to main server option.

Thanks,
James

The one thing I wanna see fixed is the Memory Leaks the game has in abundance. This is a problem that's only getting worse with each new release. In my eyes it should not exist in a game that is as established as DDO. I understand it can be for any number of reasons, I imagine it is down to the lack of portability from the original source to the current incarnation of what DDO is today, either way I really don't care what the reasons are, I just wanna see it fixed and I wanna see it fixed soon please.

I've played the game across a veriety of operating systems and hardware configurations and it's always the same places and same events that cause crashes.

What would *you* like from Lamannia?
Almost exactly what it is already. A way to test the content before release (maybe add in some bug fixes, I mean new ones with the update not old ones) and be able to try and produce the feedback required for balancing. Also be able to test the new items out (higher drop rate for example or every completion counts as a 20th) as that is a major part of the new content's replayability.

What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro.
Memory leaks for switching characters etc, sporadic lag. Maybe it isn't healthy to run for 4 hours straight but having to relog all the time is tedious.
AI across the board. Including pathing and aggro. I honestly believe that aggro should include proximity as well as damage. Having monsters run off past you (unless they raging I guess) doesn't make to much sense.

Fixed:
Radiant Server aura and all other "Target not in range" on 'self' spells. Also sometimes get that spell on AOE's when targeting with the retical instead of having a hard target. Please, please fix.

Added:
I would really like to see an 'endless' random dungeon somewhere, like the old telengard. Basically it would 'fetch' a randomized area that was randomly populated with level-appropriate stuff, various random options set within the area, and the exits would link to random other areas. If there were sufficient random options it would not be 'memorizable'.

1. QA Events. Llama is great for previews and feedback and I hate to suggest anything that adds more to QA's department, but QA Events. Bug hunts for "x" days/weeks. Make a contest out of it so TP can be awarded in game. With a 'reward' people would be motivated to help track down ladder bugs and such...

1 - I've honestly just started participating in Lama so maybe I've missed this but I'd love to see Devs spending time actually joining parties with groups to experience new content and classes,etc. I'm no expert but I think first hand experience like that would really asist you guys.

2 - Hmmm...macro...Ok I'd say merge all crafting into Cannith Crafting we have over 10 crafting systems now (Not including event crafting) its getting a little crazy also make it so you can to put any appicable effect (ie. putting flaming on a non-weapon makes no sense so its not applicable) on any equipment to make it unqiue compared to other loot.

3 -If I had to choose one thing for you guys to do for the entirety of 2012 it would be to finish current PrEs than add the remaining ones both racial and class-wise...I don't mean all of them (although that would be nice) just a fair chunk...also fix up some of the clearly inferior PrEs

I remember Feb. 26, 1981 like it was yesterday. (Any good Bruin Fan know what I am talking about.)

Lammania if fine as it us IMO.

For fixes, most stuff I can think of is micro; one thing off the top of my head is the Ravager's set preventing assassinations on a mob that isn't aggroed on anything. Macro would probably be upgrades to sand/VoN epic items. Some of them are just pathetically weak.

Additions? Acolyte of Skin Sorcerer PrE, Barbarian Ravager PrE, TierIII bard PrE's... mostly just PrE's, but those especially. I'd also like to see more of the Shavarath story.

Even though I don't have space on my computer to down load and play lamania to preview content. I do read the forums alot about new updates and see the discussions that go on so i am going to comment on what I think need to happen in lamaland.

Lamania shoudl be a preview/test server. Bring items out on Lamania as a preview for the community. But then actually listen to the community about how it feels about the things in the preview.

Prime example the recent issues with the UI. there were numerous discussions on Lama about the problems with the UI starting about the time the preview started on Lama. The preview on Lama ran for 3 weeks during which time there was plenty of time for the dev's to listen to the community that was using Lama and fix the UI issues before it ever hit the live servers.

Use Lama as a final testing ground. QA only has so many hours in the day to test things, and some things that the devs feel are good changes the rest of the community may disagree with. Use LAMA to expand the QA department for finding problems and testing major system changes for feed back prior to release.

and LISTEN to the feed back you receive there.

I think PRE's is a big one, for sure, but I would like to see polls put in place for player feedback on some of the things we would like to see in those PrE's. More interactive discussion on a wide scale instead of complaints after we see what we get.

The new owners might prefer to keep a lid on it but I would prefer some push back for more player input.

Major fix would/should be targeting to get rid of the "You are not facing X" for casters and lost shots for ranged chars.

This issue was one of the reasons why FW was such a popular spell since back pedaling and shooting would empty sp without effect.

The spell pass changing emphasis to ray spells brought the issue out into the limelight. It has been there for ranged as well, but since ranged doesn't throw up the telltale message, the lack of effect is harumphed and dropped since the ranged char has larger issues than 1 or more lost shots.

Ranged Monsters already have a blanket case where you cannot dodge a ranged attack when within a certain range. Might be a performance increase to cut out intersection checks if distance < threshold for ranged attacks.

I think fixing that would resolve a lot of frustration in the user base (especially with the addition of another possibly range focused class (twink twink twink))

Pretty much anybody at 20 is going to want these, even if they're not on the top of their list.

Also, confirmation on whether the Arcane Archer PrE is done or not (plus related ToD set update) would be nice as it seems to either have 1 or 5 tiers depending on how you look at it.

Maj

From Lamannia? I would like some tools to help test the content. Like store items to boost exp more (1000% is awesome), boost loot drops more (maybe something that pulls special items so those can be play tested), at least those can be taken out when the focus of the test isn't said areas. Maybe longer periods of preview? I think Lam should always be up with whatever is planned to go live next.

A fix... Most of the bugs get hammered on or figured out quickly. I would venture people want their UI skins though. Oh, hotkeys for charging. Can they be mapped anywhere now?

To add to the game. All the planned PrE's would be nice. Make that u13 plz. LOL

You guys did a ton this year. I am very happy about the game.

Here are two things at a macro level that I would like to see introduced into DDO that I think would add a lot of value all round:

1. Improved Custom Guild Ships
-------------------------------------
Guild Ships are boring! They all look the same. Allow players to totally customize their guild ship and use it as a central point for their gaming. Just a few ideas:
- Guild ship naming
- Assign lock points to where you want them (in a manner that actually makes sense)
- Have a guild notice board and forum
- Icons that link to webpages
- Selectable furniture
- Mirror
- Decor options
- Upload photos as pictures/paintings in the ship
- Guild ship talk channel
- and much much more

2. Open Up Trade
--------------------
Trade and retail within DDO is very restrictive, open it up and allow players more retail and merchant facilities. A lot of people enjoy this aspect of gaming.

There are three things I want to be implemented:

1 (and foremost). Finish the Pre's - I would really like to see what tier 3 Favored Soul has to offer, as well as the other two tiers of Battle Engineer (main-hand weapons augmented by a stackable die-step?) are.

2. Turbine to upgrade their servers so that every time you run an event of some kind on the Live servers, everyone else is not so negatively impacted by lag that the game is rendered unplayable.*

This way, if/when more events (hopefully such as the Fernian Summer Carnival in my sig below *wink wink*) are implemented, the entire server is not lagging. :)

* This is based on my own experience during the last run of the mabar event where, for the first half of the event, I literally could not do *ANYTHING* on Orien because the lag was so crippling. Maybe the lag problems could be addressed by making the event instances private/pseudo-private. Just my 10 cents on the matter

3. I would like to see Turbine implement a community tool that would enable players to make their own dungeons. Let's face it, you guys are going to have some pretty stiff competition from Cryptic/Perfect Worlds once Neverwinter Online goes live (if their vaunted Forge tool really is as great as they're hyping it up to be). Specifically because of the dungeon creator tool that every player (even the f2p ones) will have access to.

Would like, at the very least, each class to have 2 distinct PrEs all the way up to tier III by, say, May, with plans to roll out a third full PrE for everyone by the end of 2012/mid-2013.

Along with that, it would be good if the existing but lacking PrEs could get some love:

Virtuoso needs...something to put it in competition with Spellsinger and Warchanter
Knight of the Chalice needs something to make it relevant now that the endgame has shifted away from the previous ubiquity of evil outsiders. Perhaps adding some Righteousness-type bonuses (ie DPS stuff that applies to any evil creature, or something that improves smiting)
Hunter of the Dead could use a little boost here and there I think.
Defender of Siberys could use a tiny boost to make up for the fact that paladins, and especially defender-paladins are incredibly feat-starved.
Tempest needs some improvements, especially at tier III.

Oh, and would ideally like 1 racial PrE for each race by mid-year, 2013.

Tempest needs some improvements, especially at tier III.

Some improvements is an understatement. It is really stupid to take a Tempest III right now. And so it's stupid to take a ranger much past 12 (and definitely past 15) unless you're going for an Arcane Archer. The shield bonus is replaceable by a shield wand? Really? And Tempest III should up damage more than it does. Either by increasing the double-strike chance significantly, or granting more STR to offhand attacks.

My understatement was intentional, as while I know that Tempest needs work, I'm not all that familiar with the issues, as I don't have a Tempest, and have no real desire to play one, which actually says more about how much work it needs.

I always saw the shield bonus as being appropriate--Rangers by themselves aren't getting enough UMD normally to be using Shield wands, as they generally don't want any Cha at all and have to cross-class the skill. They can, with lots of skill points, but it's not something most non-rogue-splashed rangers will be sporting. And it's not like ranger/monks need even more AC than they already have, and are already getting, or that pure Tempests are in competition for a spot in the top tiers of AC with or without a small AC boost.

Ultimately, though, I think it's Ranger itself, that needs work before Tempest gets addressed.

Thanks for the work Maj,

However I would like to add a caveat to this.
New PrE and completed PrEs need to be useful in the game. Having three undead killing PrEs is pointless if there are no undead in the endgame, same goes for AC (Defender) if no amount of AC is going to stop you from getting hit, and that Warpriest, if you are now comparable to a Pug Fighter on the Weekends…
Thanks again.

So let me ask you guys some questions..

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.No comment, since I'm not on Lama.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(Power creep.

Cut back on the power level of greensteel, cove items, epic items, set bonuses. Less stacking bonuses all around. Lower %-based enhancements. Get back within d20 range. Scale back enemies accordingly.

That macro enough for you? :)

But hey, here's a more reasonable alternative: feat starvation for melee builds. Atm, all melees need 6 feats: toughness, 3xTWF/THF, improved crit in their chosen weapon, and PA. That leaves barbs, rogues and pallies with 1 spare feat. Not a lot of room for customization, making all melee builds the same.

Here's my plan:
- Remove racial/class toughness enhancements, or at least don't make the Toughness feat a prereq (Mental Toughness isn't a prereq for the +SP enhancements on casters, what gives?).
- Remove the THF feats altogether and base glancing blow progression on BAB instead (make it so that Thief Acrobats are considered to have full BAB when using a staff for the purposes of determining glancing blow power, and everyone will be happy).
- Give the TWF style a constant attack speed and offhand proc rate, but alter the attack chain to +0/+0/+0/+0, and have ITWF and GTWF improve that to +0/+0/+5/+5 and +0/+0/+5/+10, respectively.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?
PrE's.

I guess that's more than one thing, so to be absolutely minimalistic: spears.

I know a lot of people who are here because they love Dungeons and Dragons. I don't know anyone who is here because they love the d20 system. Embrace the distinction. Some d20 concepts (such as armor class being de-coupled from damage resistance) are antiquated. Many MMOs out there have proven this. Identify more of the issues and do something about them.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

A mentor system. This is a critical element of any MMO and DDO does not implement it. I can't group with most of the people in my own guild because it will stop their progress. Please, please try to get something working.

So just finished and put a nice big happy list together.

So do you guys want finished PrEs? i can't tell.

PrEs are definitly a very important topic, anyway its somehow bitter to say, but that we meanwhile waited that long to see for some classes even two complete PrEs implemented that it nearly doesn't matter if we have to wait another year. Also it only affects us in the case we TR or start a new character as most of us probably worked arround this.

But I totally agree with sephiroth1084 that it would be awesome to finally have some audio options that enable us to actually make the voice chat worthwhile. Right now all my audio settings are at 1% except of the audio level of the voice chat that is at 100% or either the others wouldn't understand me nor I them. Well, except of the rare case that suddenly someone found a driver option to enable a +10/20/30 db boost for their mic, which then blow my speakers.

Regarding Lamannia: I guess the two most popular issues are the character copy that fail more then once and the fact that if you then have to copy a low level character it takes too long to actually level this character to test certain areas that would be of interest. Sure you maybe want to have characters test all the aspects and level of the game while players may be only interested in a certain range, but I guess a lot more players would jump on the boat to Lamannia if they wouldn't need to grind there as well, just to test.

I love this idea, and would like to add 1 thing to it.

"Rediscover/reinitialize devices". My USB headset doesn't get added to the lists of devices if I dont plug it in befre starting the client. I generally use my speakers, but occasionally if it gets later or I join a group that wants voice, I want to switch to my headset without restarting the game.

Music choice. The default theme music is incredibly depressing. Probably the worst among all MMO's I've played.

I usually turn it off and play my own, but that's really not an ideal solution.

Fix monster AC at the epic level. For every class that isn't a fighter or a barbarian getting enough + to hit to actually land hits is stupidly difficult.

Finish and add new PRE's.

I changed my mind. Fix shroud so that the blades don't team up with lag to instakill entire raiding parties. On a related note, please allow the shroud end reward list to show Large ingredients instead of mostly smalls.

EDIT: I changed my mind again. Give infraction points to people who give out neg-rep like candy.

So just finished and put a nice big happy list together.

So do you guys want finished PrEs? i can't tell.

Oh I dunno, I kinda like my AA being viable only till about level 15 and getting the reputation of being gimp past that only 'cause she's being compared to 15+'s of a different class who have more than one tier of their pre's.

That REALLY gets the stars to accept the LFM join request from the AA for higher level content.

Just saying...

And I know this was probably not the choice of the Dev's (you can tell, it had "the two Bob's" written all over it), but please not the same poll format as the last one.

that last poll, for those who missed it was essentially something like this:

Please pick the _best_ answer from the given options:
Q: Would you rather slide down a razor blade butt naked into a vat of alcohol OR have a minor tweak noone asked for added to the user interface?
Q: Do you ever use autoattack feature whilest lifting a piano and calculating the airspeed of an unladen european swallow?
Q: Do you find you use the character view reticle a) never b)hardly ever c) alot, but you can get rid of it entirely

obviously, I am exaggerating... a little

Arcane Archer has 5 tiers, more than any other prestige specialty (except kinda Archmage).

Compared to most prestige specialties, Arcane Archer is almost overpowered. The problems with your character are based not on your specialty enhancement, but on the ranged combat mechanics in general. Fixing those mechanics will make your character decent for those purposes... and might even lead to AA needing to be nerfed!

Actually, they don't - Rangers have 5 Prestige Enhancements, true; AA's have 1 - Arcane Archer I. Now if I could stack those... :D

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

Does it matter? I would like to see issues found on Lam fixed before going live. Seems like a simple enough request. Most software companies have a testing phase before they release code.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

There are way too many to pick one. If I had to pick one it would be LAG. Since that isn't specific how about Threnal. How hard would it be to adjust the quest turn in process? It's the biggest P.O.S. flagging system in the game. It is BROKEN. How old is Threnal? When you finish west, Repeat pops up over the rewards. If you hit repeat you screwed yourself. Same with East. IF you managed to complete the chain, go back and do east and west, THEN ask is there more to do here you only option is to RESET THE WHOLE CHAIN. I mean it's minor because it's a pack I run 1 time per toon for favor and a mantle and then never come back. Then I get a new toon and think "Hey, I should do Threnal." Then end up ****ed off. You changed VON for the better. Do the Same with Threnal or change the pack to be free. No one should spend money on it in it's current state.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Finish bard PrEs but not have them suck. It might sound mean but that is what I want more than anything. I want them to be worthwile. I want them done right the 1st time. I would be happy to offer feedback if I thought it made a difference.

-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.

I think Lamannia should be a sandbox for players to really TEST the system. If you are adding new items or new areas, you should make those areas and items easily available to players so that any potential issues could be found quickly and fixed. If you are adding or changing game mechanics, I think you need to clearly explain what the mechanic WAS and how it DID function - and what you are changing it to and how you want it to function. That way players have a known "This is what they are trying to make it do, this is what it's actually doing." The more information you put in players hands, the better they can help you make content that is solid. Every update you put out, the "Known Issues" just gets longer and longer. With some very OLD "known issues" still hanging around. If Lamm was more of a "test" instead of a "preview", you might be able to stop this from happening.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(

On a macro level, I think the concept of "armor class" and "damage reduction" needs a serious looking at, with things like "evasion", "improved evasion", "dodge (the feat)" playing a role in a players ability to dodge normal attacks as well as spells. We've reached a point, especially in end-game content, where the workload on the healers has reached a near breaking point, this is especially true for pug groups where you don't know what caliber of player has joined you. We need more ways for melee players to mitigate incoming physical damage, whether this be through gear, game mechanics, spells or all of the above. I don't particularly like the idea of adding an additional "check" to determine if hits cause damage, but I feel like something along those lines needs to be done to give melee's a more active way of mitigating damage.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

Balance between classes, plain and simple, and I know it's impossible to find, but right now, conc-opp/torc on PM/FvS is just over the top. I created an epic group for a House D epic - very simple, very easy - but the PM zerg'd all the way to boss without even needing the other 5 of us, he could have easily solo'd the quest including the boss I'm sure, none of the rest of us could have done that. I know (and agree) that casters in general should be more powerful than melee's when it comes to end-game, but it's reached a point where the balance gap is just huge.

Thanks Maj - it's great that you are paying attention to us little people.

-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps

Given I just TR'd my main melee into a monk I don't think I need to say it but I would love to see some attention to the memory leaks in the client. I suspect that much of the client side issues with Lag can be traced here. While I am sure it's not something that would be an easy fix, it's a worthy target in my book.

-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?

It's hard to narrow it to just one thing but for me I would love to see some better Social tools in this game. Don't get me wrong, I do want to see more PrE's, Fixes for the weird flagging, and even getting familars (I mean Artificers get control of their pets so why not apply them to Summons? Let folks have a hireling control bar for their Fire Elemental or Bearded Devils to give some directions... but I digress). To me the biggest part of this game and one of the key factors are the relationships you make and have with other players to enjoying DDO fully. I like the environment, toon building, crafting, quests and a great combat system in this MMO. The new challenges from update 12 are fun and in my limited experience with them a great direction for a new type of content that I can see casually playing for a very long time. Yet all of that is secondary to the people I play with in the game.

Some examples of what could be improved as far as the Social tools might take the following forms:

Guilds/Friends lists - Let us group the Memberlist not just by toon but by account. This would be hugely helpful for Leaders/Officers in managing account alts for folks who keep their bankers, lowbie test toons etc in the guild to keep up with Guild chat etc. Grouping people by their account after you manually added individual toons would be handy too keeping that short one line we get of notes going a longer way. Requiring you to add each one individually too would keep people from discovering an alt you don't want to share with them too. It would be nice to see a larger friend list too since I often can't add everyone.

Custom Channels - It would be great to be able to get a passive list of who is signed into a chat channel and to let yourself update who is around after you've been logged in for awhile without disturbing the whole room too.

Those are just a few of the ideas that I haven't really seem mentioned elsewhere. Other obvious examples are with fixing MyDDO etc and there are other ways the social experience could probably be improved too but the above could be a handy start.

I hope this was more along the lines of what you were looking for...

So do you guys want finished PrEs? i can't tell.

After a bit of thought which went like, "if i get the epic levels i asked for then all raiding partys would have level 25s in them and kill my xp for my completionist raiding at level 17", I decided that yes I too would really most like the PrEs class finished too.

What would I like to see fixed:
Game updates: Plz make it so that you can reset the launcher without the downloads starting from scratch again. It really is a pain and I'm sure you folks have better things to do with your bandwidth.

What would I like to see added:
Levels 21 to 25, just for starters, I would like to see it go to epic all the way. Or being able to go to level 20 for the second and the third class, effectively giving us levels 21 to 60 without making it to epic.

~~~~Another change of mind~~~
Please make the shroud the way it was before you created the blades of death.
Now with your fix of the exploit, suddenly my halfing cleric with the Shield Masterly feat seem to be taking more damage than normal instead of less from the blades of death. (yes I did a bug report)
Random blades when harry comes down wipes out parties who are doing their best to manage blades by killing the green devils slowly. (yes I understand the new shroud, was in a hard completion hours after the update)
Really folks, the Vale is the most popular adventure pack and now I who have been running shroud raids several times a week feel like it is not fun anymore. (When you are not having fun gaming, ask yourself why and do something about it.)
PLEASE fix the shroud!
Or perhaps I should say fix your fix of the shroud, or maybe I should say unfix the shroud, or maybe it is untweak the shroud, or is it fix the exploit fix that unfixed my feat defense against the fixed shroud that needs unfixing?
Thinking back, really I am happy with that has gone in the last six months, except the changes to the shroud.
I like what the Developers have done.
Level 20 characters should not have a rough time doing a level 17 raid on normal.
The singular thing I would like fixed? Empower the GMs to help players that encounter bugs through no fault of their own. Whether they need tools added to their toolbelts or just policies changed to allow them to use them, please do it. Replacement of items lost or degraded due to programming errors is a standard thing that the GMs of every other first class MMO can and will do. In a game where many of the best items require hours of mind-numbing grinding and/or can only be acquired during special events, it's particularly frustrating to be told "too bad, go earn it all back".
The new thing I would like to see? Implement crafting of consumable magic items such as potions, scrolls, and wands. Done properly, this could help reduce and/or provide another path to financing the high costs of being a raiding caster, foster a richer in-game economy, and provide a limited source of consumable magic items that otherwise can be found only in drops or not at all. Plus, I just really like crafting. :-)
Personally, I'd like to see at least a timeline for those PREs that were announced ages ago. More variety can never be a bad thing.
Wild mage for example could potentially be awesome (I distantly remember something about turning people into barrels through wild surges), so what became of it?
Silverleafeon
Rather minor point, but I would like to see the guild airship small hookpoints:
mailbox, banker, traven keeper, and auction house ~~ the last 3 look like people anyway which is confusing.
be reclassified as crew hookpoints.
You see with a medium sized airship (which most guild can obtain eventually), the small hookpoints eventually become:
6 ability scores +2
Resist fire 30, Resist acid 30, Resist lighting 30, Resist cold 30, Tavern Keeper
Crew hookpoints are much less important than small hookpoints because of the current classification.
Swapping all but the mailbox over would help a lot with guild politics in many guilds.
What new race or clas???
The only one I would vote for is the one that has the greater server aptitude feat... And is willing to wade into the back end of the DDO realm and get the FRIGAN server side MESS worked out... Game is running like a 80 year old without it's Geritol.... :cool:
"Hey Joe, there's this cool MMO, it's called Dungeons and Dragons online!
"Oh ya Mike I tried that, it seemed really cool, but the lag was so bad I only played for 4 hours and gave up"
I bet that conversation goes on over and over.....
There' s no way I want to see another class or race till they clean up that mess as well as do some major work on EXISTING unifinished/bugged/broken systems... Arti$ already casued a big enough drag on the game... :cool:
-What would *you* like from Lamannia? I have my own ideas, but I'd like to hear what you guys think it could be.
I would like to see Lamannia to be taken more seriously. I would rather a new update be delayed for a few more months and get fixed when players report major bugs on the Lamannia forums, than to push it out due to a deadline and fix it later. Just think, this is what happened to Microsoft. If they had just taken more time to finish what they had started on Windows 7, then Vista would have never seen the light of day.
-What is the one singular thing you would like fix. Please, think on the macro level not the micro. Don't say hand wraps :(
I am not trying to be sarcastic here, but I would like the game to be recoded from scratch. Spend less time developing new content, and put those people on not fixing current content but rewriting the code to create what would essentially be DDO v2.0. I am a programmer myself, and one of the best things I've learned is that sometimes the best thing you can do is start over from scratch. This would in essence fix everything that people are asking to have fixed. Well documented, intelligently commented code so that when new coders are added, or old ones are replaced, the new guys don't accidentally break anything.
Also, no "work-arounds" in the code to try to force things to work. Loosen the time requirements on pushing out new content, so that care can be made to ensure new content is bug free.
-What one thing would you like to see added to the game?
I would like to see no new content added to the game, until current issues are addressed, and fixed correctly.
I know how hard and time consuming it can be to hunt down a bug, and fix that bug without destroying something else. This is why I have suggested a recode. I believe that the community in general would not mind waiting a year for new content, if that meant that all current issues were worked out, and future content was held to a higher coding standard. During this time, smaller updates could happen like Greensteel deconstruction and other changes that the devs have been wanting to make, but have been forced to put off due to deadlines for new content.
It's pretty simple: Finish the prestige enhancements. Fix the ones that are obviously broken. When I say fix, I'm including fixes to creating loot specific, upwards balancing of some of the weaker ones. Seriously, named repeaters, q-staffs, d-axes...This is basic.
I would love to see an elemental planes pack.
All you need to do is take the coding from baldur's gate: dark alliance II, alter the health, ac, etc of mobs, and work your dev magic! :D
Seriously, though. Great storyline, brilliant mechanics, really fun bosses. Totally worth any price tag you slap on it.
