Fellow Thelanissians,

Please be aware /rant on

Today I soloed elite Sins, and as is often the case in these situations I think 'well thats some favour/loot/xp going to waste, may as well clear the way+set up lfm for boss kill'.
I got angry to start with when one guy delayed us by asking for ship invites, then taking a decade to buff while the rest of us wait around (despite my protestations over voice chat/type). Ship buffs? For Gula??!

So once all are in we crush gula in no time and hit the chests. I wait around for a minute or two. 1 thankyou. Out of 5. The rest just argued over rolling for Calitomes sash.

As people say around here- Facepalm...

I guess I'm on here because...

-It's cathartic to have a good whinge
-Maybe I need someone to say "there there"
-Or to say "man up, no big deal"
-Or to say "Chin up tiger, ya just got a bad bunch"

People don't just give away 18 yugo favour like cookies. Well, not that I see.

Sorry for rant. Those who know me know I am an advocate of pugging and a defender of the foolish at times, but this? Grrr...

You are drawing from the pool of players who want to pike their way through Sins of Attrition. Polite people usually have a sense of pride and want to actually beat the quest by themselves to earn their favor :D

There, there. Man up. Chin up, tiger!

And take comfort in the knowledge that as far as whinge's go, that was pretty weak.

I PUG often, so I usually stick up when folks talk of PUGs as a general cesspool.

But I gotta say I don't usually join favour/loot runs because I don't think it's right that I profit of others. I play this game to experience the quests, not just for phat lootz or favour.

I have also run into this problem on a different quest. I will solo Coal Chamber and then open the LFM for completions and ingredients. I cannot tell you how many times people get mad at me for them getting lost. Either on the way to the quest or in the quest. What kind of player will take a free handout and then complain about it? I feel your pain.

I believe I was the one in this run who thanked you (if it's the same one from a few minutes ago).

Don't sweat it. I do the same thing for Weapon Shipment all the time. Some people say thanks, some people demand I give them my boot mats. Just think of it as any PuG run, hope for the best and expect the worst.

As for the other comments, no, just because I like an easy completion and loot doesn't mean I can't complete it on my own. It just means I'm smart. Completing elite Amrath feels like a badge of honor to you because you haven't done it 1000 times. New players feel the same way when they complete elite Butcher's Path.

Well, now you know why some of us "elitists" get so bent out of shape when puggers give us the whole sense of entitlement attitude. I usually solo epic claw and put up lfm's for a free chest pull. Half the time when someone joins they do this:

"hey, ship buffs then brt"
steps into the quest and pulls the first lever. *ding* *starts cursing over his mic about how I am a noob and didnt pull the lever for him*
continues to run towards the end. 10 seconds later, red DA pops up followed by *ding*

This is usually followed by me /facepalming and trying to explain that A) the quest is *done* and it is pointless to grab ship buffs just to walk to the chest, and B) when you step in, do not touch anything and wait for an invis/invis yourself to the end.

Not saying everyone does that. The other half of the time I get this:

"Hey thanks! I'll be right there"
"I don't have an invis clicky, can anyone hit me with one?"
"I don't know the way to the end, can someone show me the way"

followed by people looting, thanking me a SECOND time then dropping group. those are typically the kinda people I don't hesitate to accept again.

When you start doing the higher end stuff, like elite amrath or epics, you will run into peeps with the whole "I deserve to be carried" mentality who don't think they are responsible for being prepared for the content. Those are the kind of people most of us vets don't want to be bothered with, while those who *do* want to learn and contribute are generally welcomed.

Just my thoughts on it.

Thanks for the replies all- Biggin- yeah you were a true gent.

These things happen, I guess I just got a bit ratty because this isn't like any other giveaways I've done (normal sins/old weapon ship/sane asylum/low level fvr quests)

Getting the 21 Favour from this is huge chunk of Yugo pot grind done.

Mountain from molehill? Probably. Glad to see it's not just me that it happens to. See you all in game.
