Am I the only barbarian that feels our past life is below average especially the passive which only gives us 10 hit points. The active is better with a thoughness, + to intimidate and special rage though I would recommend if any developers are reading to recuce the past life rage feat from +4 STR and CON to +2 STR and +4 CON (or even fi you want to +2 STR and +2 CON) and add a much longer duration and more uses per rest since 30 seconds once per rest does not provide much benefit particularly when compared to the fighter who has more uses. It would also close the gap between monks who obtain higher damage permanently with their past life. This change would balance barbarians more compared to other TRs even though it requres an extra feat. I would recommend adding an additional 10 hit points to the passive past life feat if the active feat is changed to +2 STR and +2 CON since most people I know dont even want to TR barbarians because the pay off is too small.

On a side note, I would also recommend revisiting the Epic Greatclub of the Scrag to add durability and a red augment to make it comparable to other similar epic weapons.

Overall I cannot complain DDO has been getting update after update of good changes and content this is just the part I feel would help for my perspective since I play a lot barbarian.

All the passive lives are relatively weak on their own.

As a general past life Barbarian benefits any class as +10hp is usefull to every class. 20 would be better.
But as melee past lives go i put it around 3rd best with Ranger/Rogue as the weakest and bard last as it sucks.

1. Fighter- +1 to attack rolls and +1 to the DC's of your tactical feats.
2. Monk- +1 to damage rolls.
3. Barbarian- 10 additional hit points.
4. Paladin- 5% more health when affected by positive energy.
5. Artificer- you have a 5% chance not to expend a charge. +1 bonus to the UMD. (usefull to cross class UMDers)
6. Rogue- +2 to saves vs. traps and deal +1 damage when sneak attacking. (meh)
7. ranger- +2 damage with ranged weapons and +2 to elemental resistances. (ok for AA/artificer)

Casters..
1. Wizard- +2 to spell penetration checks* and the DC's of wands you use.
2. Favored Soul - +1 to spell penetration checks and gain 20 additional spell points.
3. Sorcerer- +1 to the DC's of your Evocation spells and gain 20 additional spell points.
4. Cleric- +1 DC Conjuration, +1 Turn Undead , +2 levels Turn Undead.(most Conjuration are not DC required)
..
10. Bard- +2 to saves vs. enchantments and illusions. You gain 1 bard song usage. barely usefull even to bard

Now 3x Cleric PL's would be useful to a Cleric or Paladin... but the Barb passive PL is fine. If it was 20 HP/feat, it would simply be OP.

I still find 10 hit points useless to a barbarian it makes a difference between maxing out at 902 versus 892 for me at the moment and even less once I get all my build done (between 980 to 1000). I feel the developers decided to designate barbarian as the TR class for anyone who wants a little more hit points versus the other main melee classes gaining more useful stats (damage and attack). 10 hit points is great at lvl 1 after it is downhill.

In any case, my main concern is the active past life rage which is pretty much useless at one use for 30 seconds per rest. The +4 is very strong but 30 seconds lets face it is not gonna help me survive or out dps anyone in epics. It is more for show allowing me to add an extra 40 hit points for a little while. It is so bad I have played with a lot of barbarians who have the feat but dont bother to use it. They simply have it for the thoughness and intimidate from it.

Let me know if you agree or have better suggestion on the active. Thanks for the feedback so far.

Almost all the past life feats which are not granted for free kinda suck. They need to have a look at them again IMO.

The passive ones, on the other hand, are small bonuses which you get for free. They don't help a ton, but they do add that little bit extra. The barbarian one may not be useful to barbarians, but it's really nice on most any other class.

I was thinking yesterday if it would not be more cool to have a list to choose from so a list which I would divide in melee, caster and specialist. I find the monk is OP with their feats.
