ok. long story short... my first life on Katzklaw, my currently capped trapping FvS, i originally started out as an AA on top of all that. blood sweat and tears i clawed my way to 20th with 300HP, with no toughness feat (evasion helped alot. lol) i just *could not* fit all the feats i needed/wanted and all the feats required for AA. finally, i LRed, picked up toughness along the way, and gained 150 HP, but lost all my ranged feats. by this time i had already made myself a litII bow. i actually like being an AA. think its fun.

so what's this got to do with this post? simple. i wanna TR. my husband said he thought i'd find cleric fun, and i don't want my lovely litII to go to waste. i've toyed with several build ideas, most of which i still can't quite figure out how to get all the feats i need AND all the feats i want. so then my husband suggested something totally 'out of the box', and i rolled with it

i copied my FvS over to lamma and rolled this build up, and while i haven't had the chance to play with it TOO much, i will say that what little time i had... it was a LOAD of fun. HP and SP with my equipment i already own were just a hair shy of 400/ just a hair over 1350, and i had 11 turns to play with. i lose mass heal, and my other high level spells :eek: but my Heal spell still hit for around 390-440 (without and with greater devotion or potency, respectively). aura seemed kinda weak at 12-14 a tick, but maybe i can figure out a way to raise that, and burst hit for right around 100, give or take a few HP.

what say you? :D

I've always liked the idea of a 17/2/1 Cleric/Monk/Ranger Half-Elf for divine archery. Decent spell casting, and those monk levels give you toughness and zen archery, freeing up the other 7 for range focused feats (plus quicken+empower healing). Stats are pretty tight, but you're a TR, so that should help.

Yeah, Maximize + Empower really aren't going to fit in well. On the other hand, you'll have a higher CL on the damage spells with 17 cleric instead of 12.

true..... but then again, manyshot + slayer arrows + litII bow is pretty good damage too (yeah yeah, i know, for 20 seconds). i had way too much charisma and way too little wisdom to get workable DCs on the *good* spells on Katz's first run thru (even now after my LR, still not many damage spells. DP, BB, swing my scimitars at it... i'm a lousy soloer, but great support. NOTE: I WILL NOT BE SOLO. i always group with, at MINIMUM, my husband, and usually more, as a semi static group)... so maybe i won't be missing much the second time around? :p

update:

blade barrier hits for around 140ish, which, shamefully, is about how much it hit for me before unless something got into my angel of vengeance aura blah blah blah. >.<

This looks like it could be fun. As always, You will always be welcome by my side no matter what.

I honestly can't wait to see how you pull this off, I know you enjoy flavor builds, and doing the off the wall, and I think you will do a great job with this.

And call it "The Holy Hand Grenade" Build.

i suggest dropping dex for something else :D
evasion is not worth going for if its going to be less than 25. if you can get it higher, leave as is :3

otherwise it looks good!

I wrote this (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=285430) a while ago trying to condense my various thoughts on divine arcane archer builds.

Some points:
1 wizard is a great way to effectively get 2 free feats (1 bonus metamagic feat and you don't need mental toughness)
2 monk or fighter is great for 2 feats (monk gives AC and evasion, fighter gives better feats sooner, more HP and haste boost)
17 cleric is great to get mass heal so you can still call yourself a healer (you can arguably raid heal with 15 cleric levels and considerable epic gear).

If you take the above on a half-elf then you can get 10 feats.
PBS, RS, MS, WF:R, IC:R, Toughness, Maximise, Empower Healing, Quicken, Zen Archery

The first 8 are non-negotiable. Without them I wouldn't bother at all.
Quicken spell can maybe be skipped if you have significant concentration gear and lots of skill.
Zen Archery lets you dump all your dexterity gear and gives a decent AB bonus (though not a huge one as you need dex to qualify for MS). On a monk splash it gives really nice stance bonuses. On a fighter I'd consider dropping it for empower (for blade barrier and divine punishment mainly).

Stats are pretty spread out. Ideally I'd like 36 points to qualify for DMII or DMIII (14 base +4 tome). Spell Penetration suffers. Ranged DPS is fun while manyshot is active but useless the rest of the time. Lacking Improved Precise Shot is the most painful thing in groups.

In raids my strategy was to let people know that I wasn't healing for the first 20 seconds and let the other healer take the load until manyshot was on cooldown and then help heal, it was fun and effective in most groups though I didn't do much difficult content with her (Shroud mostly).

Not really sure what 12 levels of Cleric will get you, I think in general raising any kind of caster to mid levels is not advantageous, since they'll always be playing catch-up with the full casters. This sounds more like a flavor build to me. If you have something specific in mind then hopefully it works out, but generally speaking you may have some difficulty with higher-end content.

I been playing with a similar build, I am going to be using 6 pally just to see how that goes.
once i figure out how to copy my planed build onto the forum ill do so. i have just a vet build now as a tester i want to TR my monk into this build for sh!ts and giggles :D

Swap fighter to wizard and suddenly maximise fits nicely in there (as you can skip mental toughness and still get a bonus feat).

Not sure how you will play it but personally I would probably replace Heigthen with Empower (for better BB/DP) or Mental toughness (for more mana).

Empower to get more damage out of the mana bar and mental toughness to get more comfortable in raids.

Then again, I don't rate heighten on my divines so I might be alittle biased :)

Normally I'm opposed to dump-stating STR; but since your 2nd build doesn't have Bow STR (and I guess you don't have HEs?), you may want to so you can put more pts into CON and/or CHA (to get Divine Might to make up for no Bow STR). Alternatively, consider lowering your base WIS a pt or 2 so you can spread some more pts to your other stats.
