Thought I'd try forming a group through the forums this time. I've been pugging this raid for the last few weeks - with variable success, some groups smash the raid, others will flail like a group of noobs trying to complete chronoscope at level. Either way, I don't have a specific setup in mind, the only important roles to fill are strong healers and a tank who knows what he's doing - everything else is meh on normal.
1. Firstaidkit
2. <tank>
3. <healer>
4. <caster>
5. <bard/artificer>
6. <dps> (light monk preferred)
7. <dps> (Arcane archer preferred)
8. <dps>
9. <dps>
10. <dps>
11. <dps>
12. <dps>
I won't be able to update this thread until around 4pm since I will be at work (with no internet access) but will update the list when I get home and we'll pug out the rest of the open spots - so check responses to see whos coming, it's first come first serve.
And yes, I am willing to take first-timers since were just doing normal. I'd prefer first-timers to at least have some experience completing tod/abbot raids so they have an idea of how to react while participating.

If I was able to correctly convert the time zone, I will be very glad to assits.
First timer here, I could go with my Barb or my Wiz/Rog.
I have also read every post I could find about the raid, so I got a remote idea of what is going on...
Do you find this guide to be accurate for your choosen tactics?

A quick suggestion from someone who regularly tanks the LoB.
If the Mabar event is still on during the time you're going for the run. It might be better to reschedule for another time.
Had a nasty run that could have gone very badly last night and the runs I'm in are usually a walk. The Lag was simply terrible.

appreciate the feedback J1NG, I ran one last night as well and we didn't have lag issues in the raid, there were some pretty nasty spikes before it while flagging one of my friends - could've been when the dragon was up, though.
I'm still going to give it a go and hope we don't get a lag spike, I'm trying to keep myself on timer so I can get those power cells faster. I've already collected enough binding shards to make several items, just need power cells now.
EDIT: I'm in game now and will start forming it, send tell to firstaidkit for an invite - otherwise lfm will be going up around 5pm (20 mins from this post)

Hey,
just a few notes to follow up with those who joined me:
While buffing, I skipped having someone pass out FOM. the reason I didn't bother was due to the caster volunteering to kite the dogs the entire time - hence skipping the "goo" attack they have since we dont kill them until the end. When a certain party member who couldn't understand english decided to kill a dog even with everyone yelling at him to stop, I should've told someone to pass fom - but being busy tanking the big guy it didn't cross my mind
while killing dogs, I also should've ordered the party healer to simply break enchantment the goos so we wouldnt have everyone flail in it without fom and end up dieing anyways. that was my mistake but you take away something every time :)
zarkor had a hard time holding dog aggro due to people continuously beating on the dogs while he was trying to kite. lack of coordination (possibly because I didn't stress it hard enough and it got lost between me calling out all the special attacks and what-not)
otherwise, healers did a great job healing my crappy barb. Any other feedback from those who participated would be welcomed too - doubt I saw all the errors I made :)
If the fvs who was in our run sees this, please send me a PM or in-game message so I can give you your pots back. apparently I typoed your name when I wrote it down and can't figure out the correct spelling, thanks.

Hey there Firstaid,
Thanks for the pots and the great raid lead. Healing your barb actually wasn't bad at all. You don't have the crazy HP that some other barbs have, but you've got some top notch healing amp for a 1st life toon, and for much of the raid I was able to alternate capstone clw + heal scroll to keep you up with the help of the bard. Obviously had to use mana for any large spikes in dmg or when I was afraid my cooldowns wouldn't be in time. I'm still relatively inexperienced in that raid so used more mana than I should have. BTW those 2 masses i threw were because I spent a heal on myself when I got in the LOB's path and those were all I had off cooldown. I'm sure with more practice I'd be able to get hit less often and spend less resources. When you went down at the very end I think LOB took the center buff, and at the very moment I was supposed to heal you I was drinking a pot lol. How does 5 compare to other healers you've run with?
With two healers, I don't think having the party healer throw break enchants to be a good idea. I've had that job before, and it's plenty to take care of by yourself already with so many people running around everywhere. IMO have the bard do it, or if you have a spare caster. I've run this raid on my bard a couple times, and spent most of my mana break enchanting. Keeping up arcane buffs for the party while tossing break enchants is manageable for a well played built/geared bard IMO if he's not wasting mana on the crappy cure spells they get. I managed to do it on a 16/4ftr WC.
My two cents from my rather limited experience with LOB.

A few comments and a little suggestion:
-What should the DPS do during the Quory final part? This was clearly the most chaotic part of the raid, and I was a bit confused. I remembered my readings and supposed that the right aproach was to range the pillars, so that was I did, but I'm not sure if that was the right thing to do. (btw, if ranging is the correct answer, what is the weapon I should carry? GCB?)
-Also, my two deaths came during this part, and it was a bit of a bummer surviving to the LoB himself and falling to various ghostly trashes. I had the felling that this was really the most difficult part of the raid.
-The LoB himself was not very hard, but I have the strong felling that this was due to your impresive tanking. I did not see you stunned anytime in all the raid, so I think I'm still missing one of his specials. The other three didn't seem to diificult to avoid (ok, LoB landed on my head one time, but no more).
-My only suggestion is to give the tactical info before buffing, because due to all that needs to be told and the answering of all the questions we lost almost half of the remaining buffs time.
Thank you very much for the great leadership and tanking, you meanie_man_that_do_threads_to_make_fun_of_puggers (obvious joke cause I'm not only a PUGer, but a first timer PUGer (Horror!)).

(btw, if ranging is the correct answer, what is the weapon I should carry? GCB?) IMO - They should be helping prep the pillars initially, then work on LoB. Casters/Clerics should be dealing with those trash that can be insta killed, and leave the red names to roam with a kiter.

The other three didn't seem to diificult to avoid (ok, LoB landed on my head one time, but no more). Whirlwind is the most dangerous, stuns can be avoided with a light monks antistun.
-My only suggestion is to give the tactical info before buffing, because due to all that needs to be told and the answering of all the questions we lost almost half of the remaining buffs time. As people get more used to the raid, explanation times will be reduced. I'm getting it down to a 2-3 minute explanation now, just hitting hot points and not explaining the specials all that much anymore.

That's the problem, they shouldn't be running all over the place, only time to really split up is during neo ;) The bards a good idea, I like it. I usually take the party heal with pups, and do the BE, leaving the bard his SP for CC later on in the fight.
