I wanted to stop in and let new players know that my friend and I have created a video series that works as a tutorial series for the game. We started fresh characters and are going through starting at level 1 (no help from our higher characters). We are doing it without heavy editing so you can see the raw experience and learn as we go. The series should appeal to both new players and veterans alike. I am playing as a Warforged Artificer and my friend is playing as a Human Paladin.

Our channel is dedicated to showing MMOs that are really well made and sometimes get skipped by players. I feel this game deserves to be featured as it is one of my favorites.
Come by and see us, new player or veteran, all are welcome! :)

I am a big fan of the DDOCast! What an honor!
I upload at least 3 episodes a week for this series in full hd. Hope you will continue to like them. Let me know if you have any suggestions, I would love the insight :)
Thank you :)

been looking for something like this (even thought about doing it myself) for a long time
Edit: one suggestion though- try lowering the in-game volume in the videos. sometimes its a little hard to hear you over it

Thank you for the heads up on the in game volume levels. I went into the episode going up tomorrow and readjusted the mix. Should be better now :) The Dungeon Master was especially loud, quite booming.
Thank you for the subscription too, it helps us out a lot!

Nice Job there. You might try to speak a bit slower though, for those who dont have English as a native Language. :-)

Very cool videos, thanks for making these :)
Some suggestions in case you decide to make more -
Consider an alternate set with a completely free account, to give the newest players (who haven't decided to spend any money on the game yet) an accurate view of what to expect (available classes, races, what a pay-to-play questgiver looks like, etc.)
If you do decide to go with another version from the free-to-play perspective, maybe a cleric, to showcase a variety of low-level fighting styles (melee, spellcasting, healing, turning undead, etc.)
Some later videos might be a fun place to highlight some of the features that make DDO so different from other MMOs - perhaps some tumbing, shield-blocking, jump+feather falling, what happens when you fight slimes with your favorite longsword, what happens when you cast firewall on an iron golem, etc. :)
Looking forward to seeing more :)

I agree that showing another style of character (like the cleric you suggested) would be beneficial and we will probably do that down the line. I am hoping to show the f2p (non VIP) aspect in our current run-through because I am not subscribed (and neither is DarkRelic). I had just purchased a handful of things from the DDO store before deciding to do the series. We will still run into the quests that are locked and such as we play through.
I have never actually played a cleric type (played a Favored soul and a Monk before this) so it would be a learning experience for me too hehe. I will have to do some research before jumping into that one. Maybe I will bring some viewers with me for that series.
Thank you for watching and thank you even more for the feedback, it was great!

I am in need of some opinions on builds for the 2 characters we are playing in this series. We are getting to the point where we should really have our paths mapped out and fully ready to explain our choices.
I am wanting to go Ranged focused with my artificer. I am already a warforged and the stats I chose at the beginning were:
str 11 / dex 16 / con 13 / int 16 / wis 6 / cha 12
I took toughness as my first feat during character creation.
I am focusing on the repeating crossbow at this point and I like it (although I can focus on another ranged weapon if it makes a big difference).
DarkRelic (my "co host" in the series) is playing a human paladin.
I am not sure the stats he started with but if they are too off we can reroll him and catch him back up to me
He seems to like the 2 handed weapon style but he also said he wouldn't mind going dual wielding.
I believe he chose toughness as one of his starting feats but I am not sure what his other choice was (since humans get a bonus choice.
I am a 32 point build (the artificer) and he is a 28 point build (the paladin)
I really appreciate your ideas on these toons and am looking forward to all the builds :)
Thank you,
Hikaro of ThePCGamingVortex
