In the last 2 days being in party with someone who's vip or legend doesn't seem to let other people open quests on elite, even if the elite opener got the quest and has already done it. I don't think this is WAI cause 3-4 days ago i was in party with my brother to let him go in necro 2 quests on elite and it was letting him going, now it doesn't work anymore.

To clarify: the opener is a lvl 20 legend, so he doesn't need to go in the quest on elite, it's just needed to let others enter on elite, but it's not working anymore :/

Any ideas of the reasons? :)

The "opener" must have access to the quest. From the sound of it, the opener needs to complete whatever pre-req quests or be on the right quest of a chain to allow party members access to said quest.

Aye, i know that. But consider quests like desert caravan or any of the necro 2 tombs except shadow crypt: they do not need any "flag" and it still doesn't work..it was working 3-4 days ago though..

Did he complete the quest perhaps in the meantime? Make sure he re-takes the quest if so.

Tried every possible combination, but it doesn't work anymore :/

Hmmm... It might be something specific with the legendary status.

1) The legendary can open any quest on elite
2) Party members of said legendary can only enter the quest on elite should said legendary have completed quest on elite.
3) The legendary can still open non-completed quests on elite but party members are unable to do so.

Is this what is going on?

Yes, but tried with a vip friend and it doesn't let us go in on elite anyway, unless ofc the vip (or the legendary :D) go in the quest first..it's pretty annoying..

Is it all quests or specific? I know there are a few that this occurs with, specifically the ones with non-conventional quest entrances (ie teleporter type quests such as Gwylan's Stand and Frame Work)

*EDIT* Nevermind - I believe everything described is WAI.

This is the way it's always been for me if the VIP hasn't completed the quest in question. Have you had other experiences?

I tested this with my VIP account and a friends F2P Account (We made a F2P account just to test this)

The way it seems to work now, is that the Elite Opener needs to go IN the quest for anyone else to go in on elite. The Elite open option was still locked for the F2P player, and even after the VIP account went in, the Elite Option remained Locked (IE: they could not see the difficulty)

This may be new, but I personally feel that this a great change to the game design that the "Opener" needs to actually go in the quest.

Well, as i said, 3 days ago it was working fine for my legends, but now it doesn't work anymore :/ Today i tried to open desert caravan on elite with my monk (legend) for my brother but it didn't work (and yes, my monk has already completed the quest on elite) :(

I'll do more testing later..thx guys :)

Actually, this has been the case with me if the non-vip hasn't completed the quest in question of a sufficient difficulty.

Recalling my non-TRs, they can open whatever difficulty avail (norm if never done, hard if only norm, all if finished on hard or elite) unless the VIP or TR character enetered the quest on the otherwise locked difficulty.

If I understand you right, it's the same I have experienced always. I should have specified that the VIP should (of course) have completed the quest on a sufficient difficulty in order to make opening available without the VIP entering first.

It worked for you before because at least one person in the party has done the quest you requested on hard or elite already. Therefore, it'll be available to everyone in the party.

The one exception to this is a quest that you have to talk through an NPC to open, such as Into the Deep, or Caverns of Korommar.

A VIP will have the option THEMSELVES to open on any difficulty, same thing with a double TR, but other players in the party will not if nobody in the party has done the specified quest on hard or elite yet.

Mmm, this should explain why i got problem on desert caravan even if my monk had already done it on elite.

Well, thx all for the information guys ;)
