18b/2f still worthwhile?

You would still get the barb pastlife as a 18barb/2fighter, so it doesnt matter in that regard.

i should have posted that, i am a tr 12/2 currently and was wondering if i should lr at 20 i have barb past life

In terms of damage a pure barbarian will achieve higher dps than an 18/2 split. 2 fighter still provides 2 more feats though and haste boost I, so you when you're out of damage boosts you'll still have haste boosts which a pure barbarian wont have.

I'd advise going pure for most people but the 18/2 split is still viable.

If you can't fit in improved sunder on a pure build, and run mostly pugs (and can't expect anyone else to carry it), go 18/2.
