hi

How long does it take to charge a Tier 2 Rune Arm?

I ran all of the Misery Peak quest and never fired the rune arm and my run speed never returned.

Am i doing something wrong or does it really take forever to fully charge?

Thanks.

As long as it's holding any charge, you get the run speed debuff. You need to fire the Rune Arm to discharge it. Also, Rune Arms have a max charge tier -- the Misery Peak one *never* goes above tier 2.

So, only charge when you're about to use it, and discharge it after combat is over if you ran out of people to shoot at.

The rune arm only charges up to higher tiers when you stand still. There is a "stable level" for your rune arm which your arm will dissipate to when you move. It starts at one and can be increased by taking the relevant enhancement (Improved rune arm use, or something similar to that).

So if your run arm is at level 0, and your stable tier is two then when you move yoru rune arm can charge to a maximum level of two. If you stand still (and your run arm is capable of it) then your rune arm will charge to 3/4/5

With all RA AP's taken its ~5 sec to fully charge and ~2 sec of cooldown, and and you can run with stable 3rd charge.
At lower levels don't bother with shooting your RA - your x-bow will kill things much faster. The fun begin with RAs that can be charged to 5th tier (lvl 15 and above).

I disagree. The Shan-To-Kor arm with its AE lightning can do some pretty impressive damage on top of your repeater up through level 6 or so. Beyond that you'd want an upgrade to it, but since it's free extra damage (no mana cost, no spell point cost, no consumable cost) it seems silly not to use it.

That is a very good one, the tangleroot is just as good, has a nice fireball that is also an excellent barrel buster(and locked/bustable door opener). When soloing i almost always have the rune arm charging.

Well, maybe that depends of the play style - when I was capping my arti I was using elite streak bonus and most quests at low levels I ran solo + I was using Chimera breath RA (2d4 to xbow ML 5 instead of 1d4 from Khyber on same level), and my main spell at these levels was Lighting sphere. When you addicted to haste pots and want to cap ASAP you not gonna bother with lose of mobility that come from using RA (-25% to movement speed if you want to maintain charge + standing still to fully charge), especially that dmg that comes from low lvl RAs it's not that good on elite mobs when compared to Lighting Sphere (+ Blast rod later) that maximized can one shot group of mobs when they are gathered.

So yeah, all depends of your playstyle/build/gear etc. When I was lvling my arti I shoot from low level RA maybe few times - just to test it.
