sorry about that. the text says

you tell A "are you still doing bloody crypt?" "oh i didnt read it earlier, nvm"
A tells you "gonna do the whole chain"
you tell A "dont know why you need 2clerics and 2pallies thou
A tells you "you seem to be confusing need and what... i want 2 clerics cause its undead... and pallys do extra damage vs undead... shouldnt be that hard to figure out"
you tell A "ahh, but its written 'need' on your lfm'"

What is there to explain?

He was doing a quest with a lot of undead and wanted Clerics and Paladin's. His group, his choice. It would seem to me you are just objecting to his use of the word 'need' over 'want'. Not everybody speaks English as a first language in this game. In fact even the American's - some of whom believe they created the English language - get the pronounciation of words and the context of words completely wrong a lot of the time, and for most of them English IS their first language.

two too and to
rein rain and reign
weigh way
sleigh slay
four for (and i forgot FORE!)
then than (i know they're not the same, but some people seem to use 'em interchangeably)

and then there's all the words we've adopted (read: abducted and mangled into submission) that are part of "English"

re-read the text that phark posted dude -

-he asked why the guy why he posted his lfm saying 'need 2 clerics and 2 paladins'

-the lfm poster responded "you seem to be confusing need and what... i want 2 clerics cause its undead... and pallys do extra damage vs undead... shouldnt be that hard to figure out

-phark then pointed out the guy who was giving him the grammar lesson had posted his lfm was "need" anyways. hence all the facepalms.

I've seen a couple odd LFMs lately... They read "Quest X, IP, BYOH, Difficultly determined by the group."

If the quest is in progress, how does the group determine difficulty?

Seen a couple of these on Cannith lately...

Reminds me of a documentary I watched. They were interviewing convicts in either Belgium or Luxembourg and their English was regrettably much better than many Americans I meet daily.

Hehehe, actually there are too many funny comments in the thread to post them all unfortunately.

Yes - I know what the 'firewall' spell is, I have several casters on second lives, It makes no difference if I think that firewall is the greatest thing since sliced bread for undead quests - even after it was nerfed. This is not about the issue of 'what toons the most optimized party would consist of' though. All that matters is that the person who posted the lfm wanted clerics and paladins only. Phark - as an arcane caster, had no right to complain about not getting in to the group. To come onto the forum to complain about the guys use of the English language is just bad manners - especially when he has incorrectly spelt the title of this thread! I know Phark from having run in groups with him, two quests were enough for me to add him to my friends list.

Protokon - Yes, I do get it that the person wrote 'NEED' in the lfm and then corrected Phark for using the word 'NEED' in his tell, that part is a little ironic. But, I don't think that this is the point Phark was making; rather from wounded pride at not being able to get into the group, he has tried to create a little drama.

Yeah fair point, but I did say "some of whom" rather than "all of whom". There are obviously many very clever, and decent hardworking Americans. A large number of successful companies, inventions etc originate in America. But you have to admit that there are also a lot of less than 'model' citizens too. Not to mention the fact that - in hollywood at least - some Americans seem to like to take credit for things that other people have done; remaking classic movies for example and then ruining them, or changing the context of a story to make themselves look better and so forth. There are simply too many examples of that to list.
