Any news on CC BTA/BTC issue?

So Turbine created a stir, not in a good way, by saying they'd make upgraded items BTC instead of BTA in this rendition of CC. Then when they put in the hotfix, they said they were keeping it BTA for now.. but I never saw any final decision on this.

I've saved quite a few dragonshards and wanted to wait until the end before using them (since I've changed my mind about what I want several times already). But I don't want to wake up one morning and find that suddenly they decided to make everything BTC.

Has anyone heard anything official on this? Thanks.

Cordovan said last week that they will remain bta for this iteration of the cove. You probably can find it via dev tracker.

I personally think that some of that was why the crashes and laaaaaaaag was there when it first popped. They tried to change too much and screwed something up. So they just put it in as a way to save face before we really revolted and mabar opened.

This is what i did to aviod the entire thing.

1st - House K Favor - Go mash it, its quick, get a bank slot.

2nd - Do a few runs where you focus on being "The trash clearing guy". This will give you tons of white and green gems, trade them in for dubloons.

3rd - Go buy the base tear1 item for all your charicters if there is any chance of it being relevent to your toon. They cost some dubloons and only 35 white or green gems, if you are farming this at lvl 20+ you sould have heaps of these INGS.

4th - Spread them as needed.

5th - Profit.



All the INGS themselves are BTA and i imagine will remain so, so as long as the base item is on the charicter you want you sould be safe. Obviously making the ings BTC would ruin this plan, but at very least you will have the base epic item.

Many of the tear1's would be considered pretty bad epic items but they are still better then any trash loot items for the same slots. I basically put all the items on 4 differnt toons and it didnt cost me a thing besides stuff i already had farming shards.

Yeah I did that too, brought some epic tier 1 'blanks' and put them around various toons just in case they retro actively make them BtC.

Side note, does putting a epic gem in them make them BtC permanently?

They said (take it fwiw as it's turbine) that they will only make items BTC after an upgrade. So as they didn't put that in for this run I suggest upgrading the items as far as you wantto including epic not just the basic item. It is not the base item that matters because each time you upgrade it removes item A and gives you item B not just upgrades item A.

If it changes the way they described then it won't matter if you have the base item cause any further upgrades will make it BTC.

If you put a item in for upgrade the text says it will be BtC..

Your getting all worked up over nothing........"for now":D

Seriously though they aren't gonna just suddenly decide to change something in the middle of the event especially considering the trouble they had getting it going in the first place. Now, the " next time" we see cove I'll bet money they are btc items hence the "for now".
