I thought I would give CC a try again this time around. With the changes that were made with the mobs (spawn rate/hps) , kobalds not following the path, and lack of purple crystals, I find myself not interested in wasting my time on this event.

I can't wait for the Mabar Event to go live and see how they messed with that event!

is it really that bad now? I was wondering allready when I read about the monsters supposedly being buffed. If yes, I have no idea why Turbine keeps touching stuff that really wasn´t an issue at all. Cove was a fun event. Yes, it was rather easy, but a nice diversion from the usual grind. I cannot understand the necessity of messing around with content most people enjoy while there are a million things that need to be fixed or changed for years.

I agree. An event which runs for 1 week isn't worth the time being spent on considering other issues. Fine, they patched it up now. But, Mabar 'outdoors' is the same thing as Smuggler's rest outdoors. If there are some bugs in one, it would appear in the other.

Honestly what bothers me most is crippling strike/hamstring hitting you constantly. It bothers my caster much less then my melee, just another reason NOT to play the melee.

Been having some issues with it myself. Most noticeably are the kobolds running in circles and/or not following the path. I haven't noticed much change in the mobs.

Last time I was able to take my level 17 ranger in there, short-manned on cr25 and come out with max crystals nearly every time.
Now my guild and I can't even get max crystals on cr20, with our level 20s. The problem doesn't seem to be the mobs as much as it is the kobolds.

I'm not saying it should be super easy, but things are definitely different compared to last time.

I love CC, but it's certainly not a level playing field for casters and melee. =/ Last time I ran a barbarian, it was so painful. I gave up on fighting pirates because even with the drink I spent TP on to regen HP faster, it was nowhere near enough to keep up with the damage from going toe to toe. This time I'm on a level 18 air savant, heh. =D Let's just say, fighting pirates is very fun and I can stay out fighting for very long periods without needing to go the the tavern as a caster.

That sounds like it wasn't right before and it's a lot closer now, don'tcha think? I like it to be challenging. It's the shortest 20 minutes in the game.

After some practice runs on 20 and 23, my guildmates and I were able to get max crystals with 8m-10m30s left on the timer on 25 every single time, and we're all new to CC since all of us were either away or not playing when CC was last on. Kobold pathfinding is a bit iffy, but they get the job done. The zombies and hobgoblins will cripple you with near every single hit it seems, and can hit for up to 70 damage on 25 with a six-man group, not counting fire damage, which can go up to 24 - fire resists a must, so blur and displacement and other damage mitigation really help.

Had 2 melees in my group. Keep displacement and haste up on them when there's incoming and it should be fine.
