So I'd heard that Crystal Cove breaks streaks when it briefly went up about a week ago. And I like my streak- I'm a multiple TR- but I figure I can pick out five low xp quests to run after it and then I'll be good to pick it up again. No biggie, right?
And then I'm grouping and find out that Crystal Cove doesn't just break your streak once, like running a quest on normal usually would. It breaks your streak every single time you run it, forever. Which means participating in Crystal Cove doesn't just mean I have to derail my leveling train, it means I have to avoid quests entirely for the duration of the event unless I want to continue missing out on Bravery'd xp from everything at my current level- potentially tens of thousands of experience (especially since I'm waiting on a good group to run an Elite VON3).
I don't think this is fixable, and I dont think it would be worth it for Turbine to take the event down again to fix it if it was. But it is frustrating to find out that it wont be feasible for me to participate in this event after hearing so much about "how great the loot is" and "how fun it is". That's great, guys. Have a blast! I'll just go collect doubloons in Smuggler's Rest, pointlessly... forever alone.
So, other multiple TRs that are leveling back up: will you be participating in Crystal Cove? Are you bothered by breaking your streak, or is it only a minor inconvenience to you? And is it possible to make anything remotely useful by staying in the slayer area?

First off and a full disclosure ... I am not a multiple TR or even a single one, so it is possible that I don't understand. My philosophy in playing this game is to have fun. That is why I play DDO ... it is fun for me.
So what I would say is ... play the crystal cove if it is fun for you. If maintaining your bravery streak is what is fun for you then do that.
For me, I love the cove and find it very fun and amusing. So, I am going to do that.

a) we leveled up before the bravery streak bonus existed, ya know. even without the streak bonus you still get 80% + 20% for the first time, still way more than we were getting two weeks ago before the update.
b) The cove itself gives you exp - and the exp does not deteriorate (as far as I know, unless they changed it) and last I heard it was a moderate amount of exp, people were gaining several levels from what I understand milking the cove for their items. base exp may have been adjusted too since last time, though.
Just my thoughts on it. The birthday items are limited edition, exp from questing is not.

1.) CC provides a ton of XP. Im pumped at its timing as my TR is 17
2.) You run other quests when CC is open!? Hit it while you can, before it breaks or comes down!

To be honest I haven't even worried about the streak.

Darn, I thought this was going to be a guide for kiting mobs through crowd control.

...broke my streak at lunch today with a quicky :) in CC with my lvl 7 Arti.
But...I had planned on it!
I have 8th banked, with 2.5ish ranks toward 9th
I have almost every level 5 and under quest done and a handful of lvl 6 and 7s
Still lots of XP out there for me, 2 lvl 5 3BC quests to start the streak off again and ill do w/e lvl 6 house P, J and K quests to get the streak rolling again. I am stilled flagged for Bloody Crypt too and can run it to add to the streak.
So no problem :)
Soloed lvl 7 CC and got 121 crystals and about 3k xp!
Big fun everywhere!
Keeping my streak going has dramatically changed the low to mid level process. Once you hit 18+ it becomes less important just because there are not as many quests to run with it.

That's another thing I've heard, that it provides a lot of xp. What kind of xp? Specifically, how much? Is it worth not playing the rest of the game until the event ends? Because if so, I suppose I can shelve the other quests and use Threnal to retrain my streak. I dont like it, and it WONT be fun- I'll be thinking about my streak the whole time- but I can do it if the xp comes to a net gain.

I wont do the cove for xp... 8k @ lvl25 (scales down for every level below 25) for 20 min's... bleh ...

I think I remember getting 10k per completion, with no decay for repeating. Since I would be running CC 10+ times for the gear anyways, the extra 100k XP is nothing to sneeze at. (same reason I flag for Shroud 'early', gonna farm it 20 times, so might as well get xp at it.

Actually Cove XP isn't that good it should be 8k in 20 minutes so way below anything considered profitable for 'farming'.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't run it, it can be fun, rewarding, it can offer a change of pace but if you are looking for fast levelling the crappy xp/min coupled with the streak-break makes it a no-no

I run the Cove for the fun and to get a few nice items - XP gained while doing that is bonus.

The object is to make neat stuff not grind out xp. For that matter technically each quest alone is like getting brave bonus even without. Either that their's a hundred and a half quests out there that are usually skipped over. 5 and boom back.
I'll state one thing. I don't care *** that place does, don't fix anything. Don't touch anything. You just leave the cove be the cove and to hell with anything else.
