remember that this has still to be confirmed.

I found several things interesting about this.
A few years back an Indian student said that the General Theory of Relativity was flawed and there were particles that moved faster than light. Now this.
Also, neutrino transmissions were how Star Trek (or someone else) communicated at faster than light speeds.
In the future!

Yup, and Tesla may be right about those neutrinos.

Doctor Emmett Brown - Killed by Libyans in Back To The Future 1.
Colonel Gadaffi - Ousted recently from his position of power in Libya.
Sub atomic particles that move faster than light, linked throughout science fiction with time travel, recently discovered.
Time to buy a DeLorean DMC-12, and find enough road to get up to 88 mph.

remember that this has still to be confirmed.
To be fair here, the lab itself has confirmed it with statistical significance and cannot find any errors in their work in spite of the fact that they "know" that the results have to be wrong.
All of the work they released was accompanied with a note that specifically asked other scientists to rerun the experiment and prove them wrong. They are actively *seeking* confirmation or disproval, unlike the vast majority of scientific "breakthroughs" we've heard about lately... (like every single "breakthrough" in cold fusion).
I applaud those scientists because the core principle of scientific thought is that *any* theory or law can be disproven with enough soldi, reproducible data and that it is the responsibility of scientists to constantly question anything they know to be "true." At the same time, very little ego is being shown.
Yup, read about this and just thought wow what if that is confirmed. Opens up alot of possibilities.
