A few days ago I was approached by a good friend of mine that I should play other toons and that I have been spending allot of time on my monk. And since I usually think about things my friends tell me I have decided to post how I feel and wonder how other feel about the amount "training" per-say that goes into the monk class. I feel that when I spend allot of time away from my monk then come back I often feel "rusty", and by "rusty", I mean I have to remember where wraps are 15+: different strikes effects pots potions etc. Especially in the advent of U11 my job as a debuff/dps has reached a level that I love. Where every bit counts.
My elemental debuffs are loved by al and keeping touch of despair helps melee by lowering fort, slowing passive boss healing(I think) and negative energy blaster's alike. Quick draw, and fast attack speed allows me to apply both destructions seamlessly throughout the fight. Overall every day, I feel like I get a little better, a little finer tuned maybe. My wisdom allows my finishers to stick now, so it is time to explore the debuffing curses once again I think. I love the role I play in the group now, a dps/debuffing off-tank when needed. I am eager to see what Ninja Spy III brings to the game and get my Alchemical Handwraps past the metal stage.
But back to the point, to the other monk's out there, with the amount of buttons we have to press/learn memorize and to be on point and "to be a well oiled machine"; do you feel like you have to only play your monk to stay on top of your game??? I sure do. And I also feel like other people see this, with the difficulty of the monk class when taken to the point I and other have in DDO. So don't judge us because we only play our monks. =) It just takes constant attention, gear choices, time and most of all practice.
