Cleave vs. THF

What will provide more AoE DPS? Consider that the THF will be accompanied by WF Great Weapon Aptitude 1.

Further, does Cleave inflict special attacks? I believe it does, but have not tested.

And you still get some glancing blows without any THF, correct?

I'd rather have cleave than the first thf feat for aoe damage but what build are you running that can't fit in both?

The greater weapon aptitude enhancements are really a waste of points too; the damage they add is incredible small.

WF Soul Survivor, looking for a last feat that will increase DPS a bit. Cleave would help grab initial aggro too I suppose coupled with some brute fighting.

Cleave is a terrible feat on it's own.

The reason it can become good, is that it does glancing blows. Without THF, your glancing blow dmg will be so weak that it will be pointless.

If you have the attack bonus it would be better to twitch against 0% fort targets, rendering thf useless in these situations. THF would be better against targets with fortification, so that's most bosses now on the harder difficulties.

Cleave is still a nice feat to have imo. The ability to do full damage to several targets is also a nice reason to have it :D but stronger glancing blows definitely increase its usefulness.
