No point with all of the nagging and pestering of devs. It is highly doubtful that anyone will not notice when the event comes back either. There will be forum postings, official announcements, a hundred lfms and in game global announcements.

Chill out and do something else till it gets here.

(Obligatory 2)

Debugging can be difficult to estimate.

that being said I find it hard to believe that they dont have a creditable ETA, especially for something of this size.

The time it takes will be considerably more of less then less of more.

the only way to know how long it will take to track down the bug, is if you already know exactly what the bug is and where in the code it's found.

the only way you can know for (mostly) sure that you've got that information, is if you've already fixed the bug.

generally speaking, by the time you know enough to know when the bug will for sure be fixed, the bug will be a very short amount of time away from being fixed.

Credibility is earned, you just need to believe the source. An ETA of "Probably next week" was announced, believe it or not.

Not. They did not say that

At this time we do not have an ETA on when the event will return. It appears unlikely that the event will be able to return this week, although we continue to work on it, and will let you know if the status on this changes. We appreciate your patience, and will let you know what the plan is when more information is available!

Which was 72 hours ago. As to those saying its hard to guess a time, you've never worked on a programming bug and had a boss say 'how long till this is fixed and running for the client'. I've never responded 'uh, i dont know.' I know the difficulties of projecting deadlines, but giving at least an approximation would be nice (unless I missed an update).

considering the "potential scope" I really don't find it hard to believe at all.
