So have you just been standing around a mob and Suddenly you see the intimidate symbol, You're like "Hey good Job Fighter/Barb/Whoever". Then you realize, Hey, Why do I have all the aggro RIGHT after that?
I will tell you why. With my ****-tastic intim of 3 I happen to be able to Intimidate any creature, Include the Marut in VoN3 on Elite. No I did not hit the intim button. It just happens on it's own.
Anyone else experience this? I've already bug reported but Wanted to know if I was the only one seeing this.

Seems it has something to do with mobs being surrounded, or their path they are set to want/need to go gets blocked.. if that happens, they shift agro rather quickly; ergo, the Marut likes to swap agro when someone moves in its way.. sometimes, it just does it if its target cannot be reached.

It's an agro shifting bug from a few updates back resurfacing.
Basically, whenever agro shifts, sometimes the intim symbol pops up over the mob's head.

Once upon a time in shroud part 5 one player would get aggro of the surviving lieutenant, and hide around a corner while everyone else surrounded him, blocking his path. Kasquik, or whoever, would just keep trying to get at them while healers got their sp back, and not hit anything.
Then these guys got smart. If their path is blocked, their AI will now let them switch targets to whoever is in their way, or perhaps whoever happens to be next in line on their aggro list and standing next to them.
I still find it hard to believe that Sully will focus on the one guy backed into the corner with his sword and shield, completely ignoring the 5-10x damage being received from the characters beating on his back, at least if he has an AoE damage option. If he turned around occasionally for no aggro reason to throw out a cleave, that'd keep everyone on their toes. At least once in a while he teleports away and resets his aggro table...
Perhaps if the bosses and mobs played smarter they wouldn't need so many hit points, or so much fort, for these beat-downs to be a "challenge".

Yes, I find some weird aggro things going on as well with my rogue of all things. I've never pulled so much attention in all my lives; with four ranks of subtle backstabbing and turbulent epee, I'm still finding that mobs are turning to face me. Even in the new LoB, with my weak-against-constructs rogue found herself on the receiving end of almost every special attack Mr. Blades made, and I was standing there innocently scroll healing.

Seems the story of laggy bug-filled servers continues & the Dev team keeps trying to sort them out...
I'd say - develope a patch instilation that bandages the need for hot-fixes before releasing anymore updates - as the successful installing isn't spectacular & it really SHOULD be...
Considering the amount of popularity the game has and the constant show of support & love it gets - the Dev's really should get it under control.
just an opinion & profesional perspective...
As to Op's original topic - it's still on-going - healer cleric hires even draw intim signia - that's really funny....

I think the intimidate symbol comes up any time a monster switches aggro to anyone else, regardless.
Either that, or the Level 1 Cleric Hireling Dryad Willowisp has intimidate as a skill, now.

Based on the posts maybe it's A bug maybe it's Rogues. I just wish they'd stop switching aggro to me, I hate losing most of my DPS.

Must be us rogues....
i stopped sneaking arround since that seemed to give me guaranteed aggro, even if i did nothig but standing in the corner hideing.
Also 80% of mobs seeme to have true seeing and ALWAYS spot me regardless that im 2 level higher, have only 1 eye shown and are still far away from melee range...
And the "they switch aggro if they cant reach the culprit" thing also does not work on my rogue. If i stand unreachable and shoot stuff they do have that switch aggro symbol but still, even if i didnt shoot afterwards instantly return to trying to hit me again.

Whew, what a week! Just wanted to check in so you know we are reading, and responding to some of the issues. So, as of right now we are not hot fixing. There will be a patch in a few weeks.
*snip*
- When a monster switches aggro, the intimidate symbol sometimes pops over their head.
With a dog?? If so, yes the dog is scary.

Iam Lvling right now and the last 5 lvls without issues except the weapon delay/range issue. Sneak works, Assassinate works, aggro control is fine for me too.
*i will look out for this bug

I've noticed those symbols pop over monsters heads yeah, not paid much attention to them.
I've had major agro problems the last some months now, meaning I can't get rid of it. You know those annoying red named minotaurs from the Sentinels chain, I always wait back a few seconds before attacking them, and it's more often than not, that I get the agro after 1-5 hits and never lose it again for the rest of the fight, even when I stop hitting immediately as they turn on me. And similar things happen with countless other monsters, the minotaurs are just the most annoying one.
Veresh's post sounds like it's a similar problem.
Anyone else experiencing something like this?
If yeah, what sources of threat reduction do you have?
