View Full Version : Epics Should = More Monsters

Dear Turbine:

First off let me say that I love the upgrade to the Weapons Shipment quest. It was awesome! Our party was a little overwhelmed the first time through. I had never seen anything like this in DDO and it definitely caught me by surprise. As my ghost was standing on the battlefield I started to count enemies. There were 27 archers firing away ~ Brilliant!

In the past I had always though an increased number of enemies would be great for a quest, but since I did not see it in the game I had always thought that there must be some software restraint to keep this from happening. But now that I see it is possible I would like to suggest that you bring us more of it.

The first place to implement this would be in Epics. Please overwhelm us with monsters. As many have already stated standing still and beating on Epic Monsters with extreme amounts of hitpoints is BORING. Just yesterday someone mentioned that they often turn on auto-attack and go get a drink during these fights. That does not really sound epic at all.

So my suggestion would be to ramp down the hitpoints of Epic monsters but bring us more of them. Make it seem like the monsters are launching an all out attack against the adventures who dared to enter their lair.

Also at boss fights, don't make the bosses tougher but add more minions to hassle us while we try to fight the boss. Make it insanely crazy, so we need to think and act quickly. This would be EPIC.

No. That would make AOE like Cleave or Firewall slightly less useless on epics. That must not be allowed to happen.

Edit: Oops. forgot that cleave doesn't interrupt attack chain now. GJ turbine.

If they made quests classes, like assaults, then they could functionally design server allocation to help deal with any loads they need for it.

I hope Weapon Shipment leads to Kobold Assault getting retooled so they all rush at once too.

/Signed. Yes.

Reclamation: Loads of archers with acid, firing from many different points and usually hiding when loads of melees beat down/trip the adventurers. It is fun.

Dreams of insanity: boss room the archers at least 9 everywhere firing bows or throwing daggers(?) at you.

Updating these numbers of guys around and having less of a 15 min boss beat down is more fun for me.

Didn't you know that is there plan for EKA? Keep it down.
