Shintao set undocumented bonus

I read on the wiki that Shintao set provides an undocumented threat gen of 15%. Is this confirmed? And if so, is it tied to having the shintao monk 3 enhancements or does it work with any class wearing the set?

Odds are it will apply to anyone just as the Ring of Lies will. But I cringe to find more motivation for non-Shintao monks to roll on the ring against those who it on the surface description seems to be intended for. While I don't have any end game Barbarians I also wince everytime I watch one miss out on their ring.

I'm just a closet sympathizer I guess.

But that's what my 40th completion's for! (In my case my 20th will always offer me what I do not want, Turbine's random generators hate me, hee hee).

I'm a firm believer of do with your loot as you will. I'd loot the ring on my barb (and have) if it falls under my name. If it was for roll and we had a monk in group who needed it, I'm unlikely to roll and cheat him off of it. That said, I find loot begging and whining at chests a lot more annoying than anything else.

I think that's a Shintao bonus, not a generic one...shows up in your buff bar if you get it.

I have the set and just have the one "+2/+2" bonus icon, but I'm staring at a Monk with a second Shintao icon that has the "+15% threat" message.

So I wouldn't give up your goal. :)

The actual effect is +2 to hit, bypass good DR if you have shintao III. Though I see people with the 15% threat boost on their character page.

Can anyone confirm that the ring of lies gives a bonus to hate generated? I want a reason to run reaver's again other than to try it out on elite once.

I did just run it though on elite. It was less boring. But now i wont be able to tell the party in most pugs to summon monsters just for the sake of making it go haywire.

also, someone told me that the summoned beholders lost their telekinesis. say this isn't so.

Maybe it was more like monsters became immune to telekinesis. Same result.
