View Full Version : anyone else having graphic based errors since the update?

Before the update I could run any quest at a med-high graphics setting, with frills and ultra draw distance... No lag from disco, no lag from environmental effects, not a problem.
After the update, did a Evon 6, and everytime fire was called, my screen froze up, went black, like it was switching graphic settings, and then switched back after firebreath was over (and I was dead, being unable to get away.) After Evon6 (well, actually during) I changed my graphics setting to ultra-low... and was still having this happen in places such as vale, and once in E-Snitch.
Yes, this could be something on my end, but awfully coincidental that the timing was exactly yo the update...

Not so much graphics issues per say.. except getting all those shaowy background scenes.
But I just ran Big Top and seems its gone back to the dark old days of program crashing when your moving around the quest, attacking etc etc... not a zone in crash like we all love to hate, this is the crash to windows, reboot and cross your fingers thing that used to happen alot when it first came out.. memory leakage again maybe??
Eitherway something has triggered it... any light Devs, what ya been touching that didnt need touching....
Also bank lag, crafting hall lag, instance lag... yep a typical update week ahead.... maybe some unexpcted maintenance or maybe just let us go cull the packs of overwirght metal chiwawa's that are running around :eek:
Not anything I noticed as in graphical failures, BUT I am stuck running DX9 when yesterday I was running DX11 and my cards are running around 15 degrees C higher then they were yesterday with the same graphic settings (exlcuding DX11 options to DX9).
Got to think something is considerably wrong with U11 graphics wise.

Amrath floor was missing for me. Comes and goes. Battlefield was fine.

Always been running the game with low to medium graphics and ultra-high draw distance. Usually don't have any issues with it on my system (Athlon X2 4000+, 4GB RAM, GT 240 1GB).
Since the update hit, though, I've had the screen go completely black like OP described and then come back, except I was on our airship when it happened. Really, guys?
Also, my Quest objective panel seems to keep phasing in and out of our time-space continuum when moving around in quests. Glad I'm not epileptic.
And, of course, the lag since it hit.... dear god. It's almost crippling at times. Is this going to be how it is after EVERY major update?
U9 -> Lag -> Fix Lag -> U11 -> Lag -> Fix lag?
Someone definitely messed around with the wrong code.

I've been seeing stuff like this, too, especially in the new explorer area in House C. ESPECIALLY with the elevators. Sometimes they drop us too low, or they appear to be down already, but the floor we can stand on is still up on the next level. Lots of graphical annoyances popping up here. Maybe if you revert the party UI back to how it was it would all fix itself? :D

Don't wanna rehash what people already said, but just to add myself to the affected group. Quest objectives phasing, and even dialog boxes too. And something's different about combat, people already reported having different collision checks. The 'feel' is completely different too. Like there's something wrong under the hood but just can't put your finger to it.
The most annoying bug is having slayer quest objectives in wilderness constantly phasing in and out on every new kill.
