Hello,

A few days ago, I found a Pale Lavender Ion Stone (The Captives - elite - final chest).

I am not exactly a new player... I've been playing since January 2011. Initially, to learn the game (and unlock favour), I created roughly one class in each server.

So, I ended up with a level 18 Drow Ranger/rogue/fighter in Sarlona, a level 20 Drow Pale Master and a level 13 Dwarf Barbarian (my first and only 32 point build) in Cannith and a bunch of failed bards, palladins and rogues that I probably will not play anymore in other servers.

About two weeks ago, I decided to learn the divine path and made a 28 pt human cleric in Thelanis, currently at level 6. She is the one that found the Pale Lavender.

Two questions:

What kind of spells the Pale Lavender absorbs? Enchantment? Elemental? Necro? Can I stand 20 Velah's fireballs in the face while wearing it? Is it that powerful?

I noticed that people are willing to trade a Pale Lavender for large ingredients or a huge (for me) amounts of cash, etc.

The cleric in Thelanis will not need ingredients or cash in the foreseeable future, but the ranger in Sarlona and the Pale Master in Cannith wouldn't mind some greensteel.

Are there people with high level chars in different servers? Is it possible (and ethical) to trade a Pale Lavender Ion Stone in Thelanis for stuff in Sarlona or Cannith?

I've never done epics and almost no raids (done VoN once with the barbarian dwarf)... ie. I don't really know how much work some large ingredients would save. As i've never done the Shroud, I don't know how long it will get boring to farm ingredients.

I'd like to make at least some HP googles to the Pale Master and a pair of decent weapons for the ranger.

BTW, what should a Level 20 Pale Master with no raid gear or greensteel do first? Demon Queen, Dragonscale Armour? Greensteel? ToD? Eardwellwer?

Firstly, congratulations - thats a very rare, enormously sought-after piece of kit!

As far as i know, it'll absorb literally any spell cast at you, charges spent according to the spell level - however you'll need to upgrade it by grinding ingredients & then using the crafting mechanism in the dreaming dark area (the top level stuff just off the harbour by the fountain) which is a p2p area. The item is itself usually not used so much for general questing but kept for specific circumstances like facing down beholders etc.

As for which you should do first, go for that area & you'll be able to search for the eardweller as you're doing it as well as maybe find some other nice gear from the mindsunder quest - if you have amrath, i'd suggest working on weapon shipment for the mysterious bauble too, a free major mana pot per rest is quite handy.

Every magical effect. I believe it will absorb her fireballs, but her breath will run it out very quickly.
Among other things, it also prevents healing curse.
Note that if you evade an evadable spell, it does not drain charges.

Most people only play one server. You'd need to find someone with main toons on both your servers. I suppose it'd be unusual, but I can't see anything that'd particularly affect anyone else.

Boring? All your toons, every three days - you'll be doing it whether it's boring or not.

Spellpoint greensteel. Hitpoint greensteel. Greater necromancy focus. Greater enchantment focus. Torc. Greater arcane lore. Yugoloth potions. Savant belts. 3 exceptional int. 3 exceptional con.

Congrats on the loot.
I could buy one for my healer (playing on Cannith) for 3 reds + 3 large scale and that was a good price imo. The base item is pretty useless and once depleted it vanishes so it only worth anything if you go for the unsuppressed version.
That way it will absorb 50 levels of spells (that is not equal to 50 spells). Very nice and 50 charges seem to be very much but actually isn't thus the item is very situational.
I use it is difficult raids / epics / epic raids, mostly at end-boss fights.
Some tips of usefulness:

Vod: protect from the curses

ToD: protects from banishment (should you not have your boots yet) and stun (very useful when no light monk around)

Abbot: The Abbot throws you so many spells that the 50 charges will disappear in half min, but still totally worth it. Absorbs even the inferno !

epic Velah: Could survive the dragon breath with this: No. It does NOT protect from the fire breath damage, but protects from the curse / debuff that the breath also causes (-40 reflex save / dispell and such)

epic Chrono: the end boss casts about as many spells as the Abbot himself but again - those charges are not going in vein. Curse, debuff/dispell are a few example

And of course it's also good for general questing not to mention after TR, since the upgarded version is still only ML 5.

I've bought the IQ and Dreaming Dark for the eardweller and the greater necro sickle (that now I know can be crafted or bought).... I was trying to find those things when my Pale Master made to level 20.

Almost at the same time she also reached 1750 favour... So I made my first 32 pt build, a Dwarf Barbarian.

The barbarian dependency on external heals made me curious about the cleric gameplay. As I didn't have a free char slot I made one at a different server.

I am enjoying being a healbot much more than I expected... For my surprise, "Command" gives me more pleasure than FoD or Wail. It is nice to watch a giant falling down and being slashed by your party members.

The problem is that she is only at level 6... it will be a long time till she can go to the Inspired Quarter/Dreaming Dark... and I don't know if I will start the "end game" with Pale Master, level up the barbarian or...

I've got Amarath and Reaver's Reach at the last 20% sale and I've already had most of the Epics (desert, red fens, carnival, von, etc) but didn't play then ye
The thing is... I feel that I need to learn more... I've soloed the Pale Master till level 20. My grouping experience is very limited beyond level 10 (another reason for my interest in the cleric).

Thanks for the precious info... I've tried to search how people actually used the Pale Lavender and couldn't find anything... 50 spells sounded to God mode to me...

Spells levels = level of the spell? ie it absorves 50 niacs cold rays or 8 FoD?

I was wondering if the ion stones are really that rare or most of them are destroyed/used unsupressed by players that don't know their value, as it drops in low level quests and it is really useful at the endgame?

Thx for the info,
