as the title says.

char in question is a drow kotc (though that will probably change in u11) and extend is nice, but doesnt seem neccessary

my feats are this

Toughness
Two-Weapon Fighting
Extend Spell
Improved Two-Weapon Fighting
Improved critical: Piercing weapons
Greater Two-Weapon Fighting
Power Attack

if i get rid of it what do i take?

...in all seriousness, I really like having Maximise or Empower Healing on a character that can heal themselves. It does burn through SP faster, but it also gets you out of whatever emergency you're in and back into the fight a lot faster.

I havn't experimented with maximize yet, but even without it, healing amp can make my paladin's self heals quite nice/save me when out of LoH.

Extend is nice, but it does little in terms of saving mana and mostly is just for convenience, so I wouldnt fret too much if there is a feat you'd rather take. Perhaps shield mastery or combat expertise if you plan on switching to DoS.

You could argue extend adds to dps, because you dont need to recast, but how many fights go past 2 minutes where there isnt a moment you can recast in.

Green: matches my opinion. I don't have it on my paladin. (But he's also a 14/6 ranger/paladin who is as old as before the TWF changes/ doublestrike thing came around, he still works decently and I'm going to TR him.)

Red: the dps loss is the time NOT SWINGING from recasting it, not the mistake of not rebuffing. It is minor in my opinion though.

Sad when there's already good advice in threads and all I have to do is reinforce it and be nitpicky about what's been said. Oh well, can't expect that all the time.

The benefit of having Extend, on my paladin, is that it allows me to use Madstone boots and still easily maintain my buffs. Madstone rage is a buff worth maintaining, and having extend is the only reasonable way to do it on a Paladin.
