Nope, you may be an outsider, but that isn't your home plane so you can still be banished from it.

A level 20 Monk is not immune to Banish in ToD.

Outsider means not from the Prime Material. As there are a number of planes, it does not necessarily mean you suddenly are a native of Shavarath.

I may be wrong, but I think Outsider technically means "not of THIS plane" whichever plane you are on. That's why banishing works against toons in ToD.

No you are not of shavarath you can be banished.
No devils are of Shavarath they can not be banished from their home plane. to us of our Plane they are outsiders we bring the magical weapons to their plane that cause them pain they work. If we attempted to banish them they would just remain as they are on their home plane so Banish has no effect, Yet our weapons do as they are not changed by location.

Well, that question's been answered.

Though this makes me think....how painful will the demon area be (whenever it's released) for monks...and pallies.....so much chaotic damage... D:

there appears to be some confusion here between outsider and extraplanar.

*extraplanar* means you're not of the plane you're currently on. while on the prime material, a monk is *still* an outsider, but (provided you were born/live on the prime material by default) not extraplanar.

outsider is a type. it's like elementals: it doesn't matter whether the elemental is on the elemental planes or on the prime material or even on shavarath, they're still an elemental.

when your raid group goes to shavarath, you all become extraplanar. this is the case whether you're a humanoid (elf) or an outsider or a living construct or an undead or even if you somehow manage to become an ooze or something like that. you're *still* extraplanar.
