does shield mastery (and by extension, improved shield mastery) stack with radiant forcefield?

I'll do some testing on lamma myself if no one knows...

Good question! It should, theoretically. I recommend field testing. :)

Unless the bonus on the spell is typed as shield, it totally should. Whether it does of course is another matter entirely:)

base damage with sun flask (always the same for the person using it, as it rolls a d1+strength modifier for damage)

Damage with shield (note i have SD III, so dr 6/- on top. 10-6=4. 4-(4*.15)=3.4=3

Damage with shield + Radiant force field. 2 damage, however, it will require much higher damage than that from a low level barb (28 strength buffed) to tell how it stacks (if it stacks additionally or multiplied in).

Combat log tells you how much damage is blocked and by what source.

Can you test that in Epic Von1 or something and see what the combat log says?

I know the native DR6/- from SD3 holding a shield does not stack with blocking DR or stoneskin.
Stonesking stacks with blocking DR.

I wonder if stoneskin stacks with the forcefield?

Combat log tells you how much damage is blocked and by what source.

Actually, unless there's been a very recent change that I haven't been paying attention too, the most recent changes to % Reduction before # Reduction were not included.

eg. 100 damage -20% gave 80 before Reduction. But this was never stated in the combat logs. It was only worked out.

If this form of % reduction works the same, then it won't show up on the combat log either. You'll need a high damage (preferably high Strength) attack to be certain on reduction stacking and mechanism.

not quite.

# dr is taken off first, then % dr. Makes it not nearly as useful as the way you described it.

Anyways, if anyone wants to help on Saturday, I should be on trying to find someone with high strength (80+ would be nice...) around 4:00 EST. Also need an arty who can cast the spell, though that won't be too hard to find ;).
