Hi everyone. I've got a lev 20 barbarian that I want to TR into a monk in the fullness of time. I'm currently gearing him up for that transition, and I'm trying to work out what greensteel items to make. I've got a hit point helm (with +6 exceptional concentration) and was thinking of making a con-opp cloak. Would that be a good investment, or just a waste of time?
Thanks

Conc Opp gives you temporary hit points (it is not healing you) and spell points (it is recharging spell points).

If you are splashing a couple monk levels into a spell caster then this is good.

If you plan to be a melee monk then the returns are very poor and with the green steel HP helmet you already will be using I would rate this a very poor use of the ingredients.

There's nothing wrong with it, although it's not really at the top of most monk's list of items; we get WIS on plenty of stuff (ToD rings especially), and hopefully aren't getting hit enough for the proc to trigger much :)

IMHO, better things to get in any particular slot.

Completely forgot to address that portion of Conc Opps accessories, but for the reason he specified. There are plenty of other slots to pick up +6 wisdom that I overlooked mentioning it.

I still wear Teraza's Perfect Sight on Phut (for the TS and lack of anything before another Cove come back) despite having an Oremi's ring also giving +6 Wisdom. Odd's are you'll be completing one of the Monk sets from ToD and in the interim you could just toss on a +6 wisdom ring from random loot/AH as well. Eventually, you could also entertain slipping it in a Colorless slot on an Epic item.

Thanks for the quick response guys. I was thinking the healing might help with soloing and the easy +6 Wis might have been handy, but I'll certainly not waste all those LDSs on it now.

Cheers.

For my fighter who is about to TR into a monk I ended up making a 45hp Smoke2 Cloak. I may end up grinding for am Epic Envromed or Mabar cloak for that tune, that's in the future. For leveling purposes the blur/displacement of the Somke2 is a huge damage reduction and is even semi useful for endgame.

My stick build monk went for a simple 3xEarth, but a 3xAir wouldn't be bad either and being single shards you save lots of scales making those.

I did think about making some Resistance guard items but that's a lot of grinding for a modest return really. Just something to think about

Yeah, I've just got a SmokeII Cloak on mine with 45HP.

Displacement + Ninja Fade = Awesome
