i like being able to disable things as well as unlock so i took first lvl of rogue then rest ranger. what im looking for is a good 32pt build no tomes that can kill up-close as well as distance with the AA arrows and unlock and disable. in this build I'm also hoping for it to not me gear or button dependent. thanks in advance for build advice.

A burst-DPS AA build specializing in ranged weapons but still does good melee DPS. You can swap out the 2 Monk for 2 Rogue easily. If you don't have Helf, go Elf with 16 Str, 18 Dex, 14 Con, rest in either Wis or Int. Since you're going Rogue and wanting to disable traps, I'd put the points into Int because Fighter isn't a very skilled class.

what is am really look for is something that can unlock, disable, not gear dependent, not mana dependent, not clicky dependent, and a good dps. i would like to be able to solo and do great at low levels as well as higher levels. i understand that doesnt help much but that is what i want. any help would be great. at this point im open to suggestion.

As previously mentioned, the Helves Angel and the Exploiter are most likely the best choices for what you are going for. I am pretty sure that the tomes and such are not needed to effectively play the build but simply are there to improve it. You could also try something like 12 fighter/6 ranger/2 rogue, which would get pretty good dps and could also get traps if geared well.

This is my own thread on something similar. Mine is going to be a 34 point TR, and I'll have gear and all, but the only tome I have planned for it is a +2 Dex tome, and that's not really needed for anything, just there to have. The path Krinn83 is using sounds like what you want and is 32 points [the 19th post]

My plan is regular elf. And I don't have any characters on Sarlona.

If you are only splashing 1 or 2 levels of Rogue, you will be gear dependent. You will need highest plus items available for all Rogue skills (Spot, Search, DD, OL) at level you are, otherwise may have trouble with traps. Need highest plus item for Wisdom (Spot) and Intelligence (Search, DD)as well.

@Deanarth sorry for asking if you were on sarlona just someone in the guild i am in has a name close to yours.
@at others dang i think im asking to much as one time. was just hoping someone had a good build for all the things i wanted.

at this point i dont really know what i want anymore. all i know is i want to have open lock, disable, dps, not to have a ton of different weapons, not need leet gear, not to rely in button smashing, and not to need tomes from the start.

The simplest option would be to take a rogue-splashed rgr 18-based build like my Tempest trapmonkey or the Exploiter, swap the Tempest pre-req feats for the AA ones, and rejigger the enhs accordingly.

If you're going elf (or HE), you have a lot more options, because you can take the racial AA enhs instead of the rgr ones. Have a look at my Triple A for one example of a mostly-rogue-based AA build.

You will always be gear-dependent for search and disable device. Fortunately even +15 devices are not that hard to get/buy. This is true regardless of the levels or rogue or artificer that you are going to have with the possibly exception of a high-int mechanic II dwarf maybe but that would possibly just be silly.

I would think that you might want to consider more levels of rog for extra sneak attack. Maybe 12/13 ranger and 8/7 rogue.
