I just met someone who was level 35, because he multiclassed several classes past 12.

Is it advisable to do this? I am a halforc barb, so what would be good to multiclass with? A rogue? Also, is it possible to multi-class at level 20 or do you stop gaining exp then?

He was not level 35. There is a bug where the levels of characters on other servers with your same name can be displayed after your own.

If you can advance to level 21, then go ahead and do it.

Back to realism: that's the wrong question to ask. Never skip to "What multiclass choice?" without first going through "Should I even multiclass at all?"

The short answer that's right most of the time: "Don't do it"

The level cap is 20.

There is a bug with the friends list that show multiclass your friends didn't made.
Another bug with the friend list appear when the character is a TR, it shows the levels of all previous character life.

If you're new to the game I advise you to not multiclass.

Usually multiclass require some planning.

Said before, but there is indeed a bug for TR's to display a higher level than is possible if they had multiclassed.

It is not advisable to create a toon, then decide to multiclass it, it is a quick fire way to mess up your Toon. If you want to try out the multiclass system it would be a good idea to check out some builds on the Forums and see what works and what doesnt work. DDO Wiki (http://ddowiki.com/page/Classes) is also a great place to check out at what level you get what for all of the classes, giving you a good idea on what might work for your playstyle.
