Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.
Hosea 8:7

I've just capped my first toon a 19C/1F healing/battle cleric and I am looking to start an alt. I am a casual player who will not grind out a lot of great gear, will almost always PUG or solo (although my main has just joined a great guild so this MAY change) so I wanted a melee that was pretty self sufficient but could also contribute to a group without that uber gear.

So below is my build. Good AC, evasion, 300%+ healing amp, self healing, awesome saves, +250% threat generation. My main concerns are how will the DPS stack up and is my AC "good enough". I will not be doing TOD on elite on a regular basis but would like to be able to solo quests like sins of attrition which is pretty easy on my cleric.

Feats really have to be taken in the order they are in to meet requirements - ideally I would like to swap them about but I can't get it to work. Also monk at level 1 is out due to not being able to take the feats I want.

If I want evasion I need to wear a dress - so monk is pretty much compulsory. I will wear Jidz Teka bracers in fire stance for +25% healing amp but that means I have to stay centred, as I want to use greensteel for more healing amp and +4AC that basically means longsword is my best DPS choice. Strength will be 36 in stance. Calcs below for all the number geeks:

Armor Class:
10 Base
6 Dragon Touched Robes
8 Dex
7 Wis
4 Shield wand
3 DOS bonus
4 DOS stance
1 Alchemical
5 CE
6 Aura
4 Greensteel insight
3 Bark potions
3 Airship
5 Protection
1 Haste
1 Centred
1 dodge feat

72 total +2 band of siberys, +1/+2/+3/+4 equipment dodge bonus if I ever grind them out.

Have a look at the latest Solar Phoenix (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=309261).

3.07 amp instead of 2.45 amp is not worth the loss of a feat and the loss of khopeshes.
If you also dropped dodge, you can pick up quicken and maximize, which combined with high amp, makes you a beast of a soloer.

You may want to look at my 18/2, the scion, both for an idea of what is capable on the 18/2 base and some extra numbers for your buffed breakdowns.

If you are looking to just take 2 monk it's probably in your best interest to forget the monk braciers go khopesh and forget about being centered and boost your dps by a large amount and save feats.

25% heal amp isn't going to break the build with that much ac but in my experience there is a threshold where defense and defensive abilities stop being as effective as adding offense, you meet that with trying to stay centered with 2 monk and the feats for longswords centered.
