Ive only seen this spell on the wiki as havent rolled an Artificer yet (to busy looking stuff up heh) and the description says " Your targets currently equipped weapons gain hit effect Vorpal. An item can have only one temporary item enchantment at a time. " Has anyone found a scroll yet to see what it actually says yet? I know vorpal is normally restricted to slashing weapons, but if its left this general on the scroll maybe its coded in a way that would allow it to imbue vorpal damage onto a repeater.?. If so this could really up the chance of me rolling a ranged Arti.

It would be nice to know since you can only add 1 effect at a time , was thinking dump DEX and using Insightful Strikes for to hit, but if Vorpal could be applied... then would need Dex and use this enchantment instead.

I know its highly unlikely this is the case but was just wondering if anyone could verify either way. Well thats all I got atm.

Eliz, from what I gathered, Insightful spells are declared as Personal Infusion: Insightful whatever, and you can have one of them in addition to other 1/weapon buff.

EDIT: How do I know this? Saw it on lamma in lvl 2 spell list. Chose something else, so didn't test it out.

Cool so can dump dex then. Anyone know if the vorpal enchantment will work on repeaters? Doubtful but it doesnt show a restriction to melee, or slashing on the wiki was wondering if anyone had found a scroll or advanced to a level high enough to cast it. Would be pretty cool if it did.

Deadly weapons is all sorts of messed up. I'm sort of surprised that the description got that messed up though.

Idk, but frankly, I'd say it doesn't matter much. In boss fights you'll probably want to use silver/cold iron/aligned enchantment, and for regular mobs you're more likely to use blade barrier or stack of 100 finger of death scrolls (probably combined with some enervation scrolls)

Ah thanks :D , so am I safe in guessing that means it will be held to the normal restrictions of slashing weapons only?

Anyone know how its currently working on Lamannia? Would be fun to play with even if its destined to change before going live :)

Lamma is currently on a 10x exp modifier, and you belong to guild with "Zerg" in its name (unless I have terribly mistaken you for someone else.) You could probably check it out for yourself.

EDIT: Also, devs said Deadly Weapons is "misbehaveing" currently, so you're probably setting yourself up for dissapoinment.

Well if using a repeater was thinking you could use silver bolts and the Planar Weapons spell to add good (at least for now it says "Weapon becomes good, evil, lawful or chaotic. " ) without a 1 enchantment at a time restriction. So could break most BOSS DR (silver, good) with a LitII heavy repeater with some of the other enhancements (the 6 seconds of repeater nuke from Endless Fusillade) would be pretty gnarly damage.

There were many words that were supposed to be in there. It's not, and never was "put vorpal on a weapon".

Doesn't lit2 break good all by itself? I'm pretty sure archers use litII + silver arrows in Shroud...

If I wasn't too lazy to do anything but conjure plain +1 bolts, I wouldn't be slowed down by all this fancy tech now, would I?

I recall reading through the wiki and seeing this description of the spell also, even discussing it with some of my guild on the live servers. About an hour later I was confused when I went back to the spell page and noticed the description had changed to:

Your targets currently equipped weapons deal +1(base weapon damage). (A weapon that deals 1d6 per hit will deal 2d6 instead, while a weapon that deals 2d4 damage per hit will deal 4d4 damage instead. This effects base dice associated with a weapon any time they are rolled.) An item can have only one temporary item enchantment at a time.

I'm still not certain if this is the actual spell effect/description but my guess is someone made a mistake or deliberately edited the wiki adding false information. An avid wiki user myself I correct things there frequently. I noticed the "Artificer Craft Mastery" link incorrectly listed the granted ability as "+1 UMD for every even level you possess" and corrected it to read +"1 Crafting Level for evey even level you possess".

Always be wary of any information you find on any wiki, anywhere. I've grinded my artificer to level 14 on Lama, it took me less than a day to get that far with the 10,000% xp boost in effect (I hear until Monday) Also the Devs have logged on from time to time and given out free xp and I hear items and such..

What is still confusing me about the spell, I don't see it in the PATCH NOTES. (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=206066) I guess I'll head back to lammania and see if it is an option to take the spell at level progression when I get there.

Just throwing something out there: the wiki can be edited by anyone. Back before Artificer was even announced there was a page on the wiki about speculating the Artificer spell list, and soon after Artificer was announced, Deadly Weapons was on there claiming that they could add the vorpal effect to a party members weapon.

Chances are someone heard it from a friend of a friend of a friend who knows the mother-in-law of the cousin of someone on the Mournlands server and... well, you know.

The current description should be accurate, but if you notice any inconsistencies with any of the pages on artificer, please let me know on this thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=336001

Ya in a sloooow group breaking everything and doing the optionals I went from L1 to 11 in under 2 and a half hours lolz it was actually annoying to keep leaving quests in the middle because the xp kept capping lol anyways I can think of alot worse problems to have :)
