View Full Version : What affects potion duration/potency?

Just some simple questions I can't find answers to online, but that I'm sure others know. :)

Is the duration of potions fixed? If not, what affects it? Caster level? If so, only if you have a level in the appropriate class (such as Cleric for a cure potion)?

Does the Extend feat do anything?

Also, does Empower Healing Spell work on potions?

Thanks. :)

Duration is fixed.

No they cannot be empowered by metas.

Metas only effect cast spells not contained spells.

The only class that a Meta would have an affect on contained spells would possibly be Artificier which is coming Thoon.

Potions can not be affected by metamagics or your character level/class composition. The effect of your healing potions will be affected by your healing amp.

However, there are potions with the same effect (say, resist energy 20), but different durations.

Bummer. But thanks.

I assume the same is true of wands as well?

Yes, the spell cast using a wand has the effect as cast by someone with the caster level indicated on that wand description. The spell cast will not be affected by any metas.
