I'm planning out my next toon, who will be a DPS-focused Human Monk 12 (Ninja Spy), Ranger 6 (Tempest). I'm a Premium player and more concerned with leveling up than with end-game. I play mostly solo, but also play a fair amount with PUGs. My initial build points would be used as follows: Str: 16, Dex: 15, Con: 14, Int: 8, Wis: 12, Cha: 8. Points from leveling up will go into Strength.

Since the next 2 levels of both monk and ranger are pretty meh, I'm looking for the best 2-level splash. Fighter or Rogue seem like the best options.

Fighter would give me:

Haste boost 1
+1 Strength
2 Free feats
30 hit points

Rogue would give me:

Haste boost 1
Sneak attack: +1d6+3 damage, +1 attack bonus
Unlocks UMD
12 hit points

Right now I'm leaning toward Rogue. I really like UMD and it doesn't feel like the 2 free feats buy me that much. The biggest downside of Rogue is that I'll have to introduce myself by saying "I don't have trap skills." ;-)

Am I missing anything? Are there other pros and cons I should consider?

If I go with Fighter, what extra 2 feats should I pick? Before considering the 2 free Fighter feats, I'm planning (in no particular order):

Dodge
Mobility
Spring Attack
Toughness
Stunning Fist
Quick Draw
Skill Focus: Use Magic Device
Improved Critical: Bludgeoning Weapons
Power Attack
Greater Two Weapon Fighting
Weapon Focus: Bludgeoning Weapons

Solo=main aggro which means no sneak attack.
i'd go with fighter.

if you want to scroll heal, take rogue.
though, theres really not much soloing at higher levels.
