So, I was recently looking over the lvl 16 version of the Robe of Shadow, and the Epic version of the Robe of Shadow. As well as the Pale Master ToD set and I think that there could be a slight change for the robe of shadow to make it a viable alternative to the ToD set.
Currently there are the lvl 4, 8, 12, 16, and Epic versions of the Robe of Shadow, I'll just focus on the lvl 16 and the epic versions though.
Robe of Shadow (Level 16 Version):
Night Shield Caster level 14, 3 uses per rest
Superior Nullification VI(6)- +50% damage to negative energy spells of level 6 and lower
Major Void Lore-Negative Energy spells have a 9% chance to critically hit, +.5 to critical multiplier for negative energy spells
Greater False Life- +30 more hitpoints
Necromancy Focus- +1 to caster level for all spells in the Necromancy spell school
Epic Robe of Shadow(Epic version, obviously):
Night Shield Caster Level 14, 5 uses per rest
Superior Nullification IX(9)- +50% damage to negative energy spells of level 9 and lower
Superior Void Lore- +12% chance to critically hit with negative energy spells. +.5 to critical multiplier for negative energy spells
Superior False Life- +40 more hitpoints
Greater Necromancy Focus- +2 to caster level for all spells in the Necromancy spell school
Boon of Undeath- an Inflict Light Wounds spell will be cast on the wearer when they are successfully struck in combat
Now, my suggestion is that you add a level 18 version of the robe, and change the Epic version slightly, for example:
Robe of Shadow(Level 18 version):
Night Shield caster level 14, 5 Uses per rest
Superior Nullification IX(9)- +50% damage to negative energy spells of level 9 and lower
Superior Void lore- +12% chance to critically hit with negative energy spells +.5 to critical multiplier for negative energy spells
Greater False Life- +30 more hitpoints
Greater Necromancy Focus- +2 to caster level for all spells in the Necromancy Spell School
Boon of Undeath- an Inflict Light Wounds spell will be cast on the wearer when they are successfully struck in combat
Epic Robe of Shadow(Epic version, revised):
Night Shield caster level 20 5 uses per rest
Epic Nullification IX- +60% damage to negative energy spells of level 9 and lower
Epic Void Lore- +15% chance to critically hit with negative energy spells +.5 to critical multiplier for negative energy spells.
Superior False Life- +40 more hitpoints
Epic Necromancy Focus- +3 to caster level for all spells in the Necromancy Spell School
Greater Boon of Undeath- an Inflict Serious Wounds spell will be cast on the wearer when they are successfully struck in combat

Thoughts, comments, and any suggestions to help make this more viable is appreciated. This was just something that I thought might help make the Robe of Shadow a little more worth while to get compared to the ToD set for Pale Masters without completely unbalancing the game. I may look over some of the other Mabar items and post ideas for some ideas for changes to them as well, but this is all I have at this point in time. Sorry for the wall of text as well. >.>
Note: For the Greater Boon of Undeath, I wasn't sure if an Inflict Serious Wounds spell would be too much, so Inflict Moderate Wounds might work as well.
