With the current Mod, how would you rank the classes in terms of most to least favorite (most fun to play)? My answer has changed relative to previous mods.

Mine:

Sorc > Wiz > Rogue > Cleric > FVS > Bard > Fighter > Ranger > Barbarian > Monk > Paladin

Hmm.. A caster would be the most fun for me, I think it's a draw between Wizard and FvS.

Then after that (In Order):

Bard, Sorc, Ranger, Rog, Pally, --Haven't played the others over level 12 :)

Wizard, Monk, Ranger

Fighter, Cleric, Bard

Rogue

Barbarian (least favorite)

Monk > Melee Bard > Other melees > Casters/healers

I've left so many games because every class played the exact same. The game would be amazing and detailed, but playing it was a bore and a half.

Ddo wins out for having the best differences in playing. Although casters/healers still feel like I'm playing another mmo, just in the feel and lashing hotbar/shortcut buttons.

Bard.

One of the reasons I had alt itis for as long as I did is because it sucks to play the same role for months on end on any one toon, regardless of what that role is, as it just gets boring.

Then I rolled a bard, and now I rarely play the same role twice in one day in different groups.

Bard.
It has been my favorite class for 20+ years pnp D&D.
Although with ddo the Bard does not have the same feel.
ddo is so overpowered everything compared to pnp.
Classes just do not play the same. So not sure yet what I prefer in ddo.

To play, it's a tie between Wiz/Sorc/Monk/Any TWF DPS build. Big tie, I know. Monks are incredibly fun to play but the only thing that keeps it from being on top is memorizing all the different finishers and stuff. As for casters, Sorcs and Wizzes are pretty equal for me. And I freaking love TWF builds. Like, I've never made a THF toon yet beyond favor farming. TWF just appeals more to me...

For classes in the group, I'd definitely have to say Bard. Amazing class to group with, but I don't enjoy playing them much. It's sad that so few people make them.

(Wizard>Fighter>Sorcerer)>(Favored Soul=Cleric>Rogue=Ranger)>(Monk>Paladin>Bard>Barbarian)

Or something close to it. Fighter is my favorite melee class, and I like the arcanes.

I like DPS classes that don't depend on Rage, Finishing Moves, and Smites.

My opinions will definitely change over time, since the only classes I've ever put any time into are wizard, fighter, and ranger. The toon I'm looking forward to playing next? Evoker/back-up healer FvS in a static group that already has a cleric in it. I like the idea of Clerics and Favored Souls, but HATE all the aggro healers get from other players. I think that once I've capped a caster or two, I'll be more open to playing a monk (there are some BEAST monks in my guild) or paladin (I like the idea of them too, but playing them doesn't float my boat).

most people dont like pallys, but IMO thats because they try to do too much with them.

Build a Pally to do 1 thing, and do it welll, and all the extra stuff that comes along with it is icing on the cake.

for example: i built my Pally for DPS, that is is job. the LOH, self buffs, and high saves are just gravy.

Ranger. Have had one as my "main" since the game came out, in various race/multiclass combinations.

FvS is next, although still working on getting mine leveled.

Bard. When I toyed around with a melee arcane, I decided to make a bard instead since they get haste and displacement as well. Then I found how awesome bard songs are.

Wizard. I used to like sorc better because of faster cast speed, but introduction of PrEs that pigeon-holed wiz to DC casting and Sorc to nuking kinda killed sorc for me. Not that a sorc can't, just a wiz will be better at it.

Everything else, mainly because I don't really play the other classes all too much.

Wizard, once you get to level 7-9, it's just pure luxury. Has to be PM fleshy of WF'ed AM tho, if not that then definitely FvS comes in second, love them to but they got their wings clipped so......

I allways had a fascination with drow bards.
My first character in pnp was one.
Sadly ddo does not give me the same satisfaction in bard playing but its still a favorite.
It was annoying to have to do purgatory wf wizard life to be a better bard...but i did it anyway.

I've recently TRd into bard again so im looking foward to playing all those low lvl quests like TBC (nobody seem to like them but i like preeetty *o.o* )

So yea squishy fleshie drow bard spellsinger is the most enjoyable class for me :)

I also play elf paladin with amazingly high hp (600 unbuffed) - feel free to make fun of me but i worked hard to make my KOTC elf pally playable and with respectable amount of hp.

I'm a girl so naturaly i have a lvl20 human barbarian frenzied beserker for my pms rage fits - shes also blond :P

Fighter is just too boring for me to play (since is one of the most common for a lot of people i know)

I tried wizard but the class just unerves me, for some reason i prefer sorcerer.

Never tried ranger and never wanna try monk.

Rogue just feels time consuming and artie i will try for the sake of having a pet.

My boyfriend usually plays healer type both cleric and fvs so i never got to playing that one :)

Rogue hands down.
The most important thing about rogues is the fact that the more you learn about the DDO,the better your rogue will get.
I mean leaps better.

I'm talking about the day that you find out about UMD and scrolls better,or the day you find out about GFL and a con item better.

For a relatively new player it might be a bit much on the first go,but once you get start getting the grasp of things Rogue is just as good as it gets in my book.

To my mind most other games try to emulate DnD rogues to a degree while here we get the real deal.

I have always played fighters, tried the other classes my first couple years, get to around level 12, and poof, delete reroll when I felt I was unable to solo anymore to learn the content to be comfortable in groups.

However now that I started playing on this F2P account, I rolled a different class on every server as a server main for the first time bonuses, and I have to say I am liking the ranger, the rogue (I never have liked the rogue class in any MMO before) and the Paladin.

So, my list would be something like: Fighter, Wiz (PM), ranger, paladin, rogue, bard, cleric, barb, sorc.

Anything I left out I have not played either at all, or enough to make an opinion on.

deahamlet
11-25-2011, 05:20 AM
1. Sorcerer (I like to kill, in order to kill I need loads of SP)
2. Wizard - only because of Pale Master. whenever I play an evil character, ends up a wizard pale master type (blood mage, Red Wizard/Eldridge Knight).
3. Artificer. So flexible, it's amazing. Only at 3 because in the end... I love arcanes.
4. Favoured Soul.

I'm not going to touch with a ten foot pool: (for more than 1 level or 2 that is)
- Fighter/Barbarian/monk - I am not melee oriented. I'll bare it on a FvS until BB, but that's it.
- bard - I'm not very good being in a support role. I love to kill a lot. always had bards in party makeup in RPGs... but not as my main)
- rogue - tried 1 level and I wanted to reroll before it was over.

Right now it is the Artificer have a level 20 and a level 13. I still like my level 20 dwarf fighter Smigit, having almost 800 hp is a nice thing and he can solo most quests.
I am pretty good with clerics just find them to be not much fun looking at health bars and not really fighting they can be stressful.
My goal is to get one of each class to 20.
So far have done Fighter, Wizard, Cleric, Artificer, and Rogue.
Working on my level 13 Artificer a level 10 bard and a level 16 tempest ranger.
I have Tr'd 3 so far my wizard is on his 2nd life and back to level 16, one cleric back to cleric and he 12.
One I went from human Cleric to half orc fighter and 3rd life a dwarf Paladin level 14.
I have maxed out my character slots (40) and have way to much free time.
Now one thing I loved about one of my clerics at level 4 was able to solo water works on elite wand whipping a fighter type hireling. The cleric had less than 20 kills the entire chain. Command spell for the win.

Splatterfart
11-25-2011, 10:38 AM
I play three characters primarily. They each have a purpose and a role in my heart.

1.) Wiz/Rog - My soloing specialist. When I'm ready to rip my hair out for whatever reason I can ignore everyone and log my pale. I no longer have to worry about finding a healer or disabling a trap. Instead of standing around waiting I can simply go and do where others cannot.

2.) FvS - When all else fails I pull out the evoker fvs. Most groups are dying for healers currently, and if they don't need heals I can nuke with the best of them while debuffing everything with my aura. This will soon be TR'd into a Sorc, however, and will become my guilty pleasure toon.

3.) Pure Spellsinger - Because everybody loves a bard :) I have this set up for pure party and specifically raid support. 500+hps, 1800+sp (could get a little better, but I'm happy enough with that figure), 75 or higher perform, and DC40 or 41 on my enchants. It's an incredibly flexible toon that fits well into any group. Lately we have been using this character as our 2nd raid healer in guild runs and filling that extra slot with another dps. Extra DPS toon + bard buffs = fast, easy raids :)

Obviously I am a "blue bar guy." I simply can't play a melee class, but I thank those of you that do swing axes. Without you I'd be dead, and with me you're supreme :)

****, I really want that sword and shield!

Id say my favorite class was a sorcerer. I just like blowing **** up. They could nerf mages to hell and back. and I'd still rework em so I could stroll through that dungeon lighting mobs up like Christmas trees.

After sorc id say ranger. Ya his dmg isn't the best, and his hp is a lil lower then my barb, but he has one thing that I highly value and enjoy. The ability to not have to stand next to that huge thing with a bigass axe to dmg and kill it. I can climb a tower and unleash hell into 30 things below, switching up weapons in an instant if something teleports and cut it down. Very fun and very versatile with very good healing capability thanks to half elf race.

After that everything's pretty much the same to me except clerics. Never been able to get one to 15 let alone 20. It felt like turbine was punishing me for rolling the class. Never played a favored soul so maybe that's better.
