If I was to try a multi-class Rogue..any suggestions?..race..which other class to take first.
Just considering it to save from haveing to get hirelings all the time \

You want something that has a lot of base skill points or has a high Int, such as a ranger, bard, wizard, or possibly a monk or barbarian.

Always take the first rogue level at level 1, because the x4 skill points allow you to get a good base for your skills. Beyond that, it all depends on what you want the build to do besides traps.

When making a multiclass character, it's best to know at the beginning what you want do do with it. Then we can suggest a spread of classes that will fulfill that best.

Just saying a multiclass rogue doesn't tell us much, however. Do you just want a rogue splash to be able to do traps? Or do you want a character that will mostly be a rogue with some advantages from other classes?

And what's your highest level character? There are some great multi-class rogue builds that involve some specific and expensive gear. It would be easier to make a suggestion knowing your situation. :)
