and that is just a few of the many many discussions on this topic.
Casters would very much appreciate a bag for their spell components and a case for their scrolls.
In the past, spell component bags, etc. were described as not possible due to the mechanics of a spell pulling components from inside a bag.
The new crafting system has demonstrated that this technology is now available - please use it to finally create this high demand item.

Casters and UMDer's across the multiverse would rejoice! Bard will sing your praises! And half-orc women would love you long time.
Make it so.

Yes, please. I have a level 15 WF wiz/rogue, and almost the entire first page of her inventory is taken up by spell components and thieves' tools. At least a spell components pouch would clear up some space...

With the recent changes to Crafting that draw ingrediants from the bags automatically I would assume that a Spell Component pouch will be coming soon.

Careful what you wish for, I give it a 60% chance that the first iteration of a spell component bag will make the entire stack of spell components disappear upon and arcane spell failure...

Will melee classes get bags of holding for their weapons, too? Because I use a lot more than 9-12 inventory slots on my weapon sets... :P

Your weapons are already in bags of holding. ;) It's not like you could put 20 sets of armors in a regular bag. :)
As for spell component bags very sincerely

With the new crafting tech of being able to get the materials, there should be almost no problem making a Spell Component pouch.
Scroll Case may be a little more tricky, seeing as how you need to link them to the hotbar from inside the case. But if they can make it work, would also be nice to see the tech for Quivers as well so you can hot swap different metal type arrows.
Would also be nice for Rogues to get a "Tool Box", a special ingredients bag that can hold different "tools" as well as Trap Components.

The fact they can make the crafting system take components from bags now, seems the issue with spells not being able to find them a little bit off.
But the sad part is, that once they do release these bags, they'll be DDO Store only products :(

I would assume they would stay in scroll case and you would pull out a stack if you actually wanted to use them. I know my rogue would love having a container to keep the scrolls in, but wouldn't really need to cast from the scroll case.

and dont think the melees are the only ones carrying different weapons sets. i may be an extreme case but my wizard has filled 2 bag slots with gear being used at least occasionally, 1 bag slot with scrolls and weapons (at least 12 different weapons) and a fourth one with noting but spell components and potions. the fifth bag contains misc stuff and about 8 free slots:(

(I would even be more than willing to see trap parts be taken out of ingredients bags permanently and be thrown into the rogue bag of tricks)
Scroll Bags: Both ways on this one. I can see the coding being a pain to access an item from a bag, but in the same breath, I did have a toon that was fully loaded with arcane scrolls and wands, divine scrolls and wands, weapon sets, and potions with little to no room for loot.
Either way, Turbine please take a look at this thread. :)

/signed for Spell components & Thief Tools (or let tools stack to 1000)
/Not signed for scrolls/pots. Melees have to deal with weapons sets etc, having the majority of a casters key items in 2-3 slots would be unfair.
I doubt it will happen as it will make 'eschew materials' an even more redundant feat.

Dagoward's Apothecary could give out free Tiny Bag
What do you think the different size ones should contain?
I think they could be different sizes, but the smallest one should still fit at least 9 items. To have components for all the basic spells.
There could be a medium that has room for the 9 components + specific spell components (stoneskin, death pact, etc.) + some extra. So about 16-25 items.
The biggest one could be a store only huge bag which can contain all the components for all classes (i think less then 50). Then if you're planning on TR'ing or just want to pass on components to another toon to save money you could just keep them all in one bag without any worries.

Dagoward's is in the harbour so for me Tiny would be spell lvls 1-3 components only.
Medium Bag - Bought from Erstwhile Emporium in House P - Spell lvls 1-8 or 1-6 with Stoneskin/Create Undead mats.
Large Bag - Store Bought only - 16 different types - Lvl 1-9 +7 extras
Storehouse's Secret Free Scroll Case - 5 slots x 5 scrolls / slot
Medium Scroll Case - 10 x 10 - Bought from Arcane Scroll Vendor in the Marketplace/Guild Vendor in House K
Large Scroll Case 15 x 15 - Bought from Portable Hole only
Huge Scroll Case 30 x 30 - Store Bought only

Pot -Scroll case /Not Signed,
You need spell components to cast a spell, but u don't need pots to complete a quest. - another matter if we all use em and consider em a must have -
Thieves Tools / Signed or even if they stack to more than 50!

Component bags - /signed however many times you like +10
Scroll cases /signed (even if you can't cast from the cases, at least let me store vendor trash scrolls)
Thieve's tools bag - I'd much prefer that they stack above 50 - I don't need lots of different tools, I just need lots and lots of +5s
Pots bag - <sigh> /signed - okay, I think that a pots bag would be going a bit far, but I'd definitely buy one, from the Turbine store if need be. I'm weak, okay?
Oh, and better ammo handling, allowing for easy swapping of bolts and arrows? /SIGNED

With the crafting being able to pull stuff out of bags, I think they fixed a road block.
As I understand it, they were not able to get the game to recognize stuff in the bag before.
They will probably be adding in the component bag.
I'd also like to see the cookie jar allow us to use directly from the jar instead of having to pull the cookies out first.

The best idea I've heard for scrolls would be a folder similar to the Hireling folder. The scrolls would be able to be stacked but you won't be able to use the scrolls while they are in the folder. You have to pull them out of the folder to make them usable, preferably in stacks like arrows not individually like the hireling contracts). This seems only fair since they must be equipped to use them.

Agreed with the other bags, with exception to spell components. Thought Eladrin has a quote somewhere saying that crafting code has brought them closer to it though.
Get rid of spell components they serve no purpose other than to clutter up inventory, or just have a generic spell component.
"A material component is one or more physical substances or objects that are annihilated by the spell energies in the casting process. Unless a cost is given for a material component, the cost is negligible. Don’t bother to keep track of material components with negligible cost. Assume you have all you need as long as you have your spell component pouch." -taken from SRD
