So me and my buddies were in a quest discussing random stuff and we came upon the topic of monstrous races available as player races and how cool it would be. I had done some thinking about it earlier and I figured out I really wanted to be able to be an ogre. My other friend wanted trolls and another kobolds. So I was curious what other people wanted if they could have their favorite monster race as a player race, and what changes would needed to be made to make them playable (kobolds) or less over powered.

Kobold seems to be a popular choice but if i could pick one...
Werewolf: Str +2, Dex +4, Con +4 and +4 natural armor, DR 10/silver in wolf/Hybrid form.
or...
Knoll: Str +4, Constitution +2, + natural armor bonuses.

I like the idea of a Giant, of course strength based. Slow and stupid.

I think giant might be annoying to play, you wouldn't be able to fit through half of the harbor sewer quests tunnels

Not sure how they would handle were wolf.... don't think I've ever even seen one in game. Maybe just a change form clicky?

Yeah..
As far as the Eberron story goes(in brief) The Werewolves fled to Lamannia, so we will need to bribe the Planescaller in the Twelve :)
The Devs need to upgrade the physics engine for Druids so I think it just might pave the way for Werewolves or Shifters....maybe../hope

Not sure, ogres are goblinoid while giants are large humanoids. You'd think there's a difference. Honestly though I would rather have an ogre then a mini giant.

Oh and they could have like a tutorial quest for were wolves like the normal one but this one is them getting from Lamannia to Ebberon. That'd be boss

Aasimar is the direct opposite of tiefling. They have more of a bloodline connection to divine beings, where tieflings have a connection to demonic beings. I think in Ebberon rules (or DDO) they would also hail from Shavarath.

A little better than a Shuriken build. I think they use a Chatkcha which is just a bit better, 1d6 i think, but put that together with multiweapon fighting and Pscionics.......oh man, how sweet would that be :D

Yeah, also both races get stat boost, same way drow does, as both races have a level adjustment of +1 and have some neat traits.

Half-Dragons, Half-Demons would be great, but H-Dr have +4 Lvl Adj. meaning it will be way too overpowered. For H-Demons i am not sure about their L.Adj..but still would be kind difficult to adjust to the game.
Still one can hope, right? :)

I have NO hope at all, but just for the fun of thinking about it:
"A typical adult troll stands 9 feet tall and weighs 500 pounds. Females are slightly larger than males. A troll’s rubbery hide is moss green, mottled green and gray, or putrid gray. The hair is usually greenish black or iron gray."
+12 Strength, +4 Dexterity, +12 Constitution, –4 Intelligence (minimum 3), –2 Wisdom, –4 Charisma.
Giant
Large size: –1 penalty to Armor Class, –1 penalty on attack rolls, –4 penalty on Hide checks, +4 bonus on grapple checks, lifting and carrying limits double those of Medium characters.
Space/Reach: 10 feet/10 feet.
A troll’s base land speed is 30 feet.
Darkvision out to 60 feet.
Low-Light Vision
Scent
Racial Hit Dice: A troll begins with six levels of giant, which provide 6d8 Hit Dice, a base attack bonus of +4, and base saving throw bonuses of Fort +5, Ref +2, and Will +2.
Racial Skills: A troll’s giant levels give it skill points equal to 9 × (2 + Int modifier, minimum 1). Its class skills are Listen and Spot.
Racial Feats: A troll’s giant levels give it three feats.
+5 natural armor bonus.
Natural Weapons: 2 claws (1d6) and bite (1d6).
Weapon Proficiency: A troll is automatically proficient with all simple and martial weapons.
Rend (Ex): If a troll hits with both claw attacks, it latches onto the opponent’s body and tears the flesh. This attack automatically deals an additional 2d6 + 1-1/2 Str bonus points of damage.
Regeneration (Ex): Fire and acid deal normal damage to a troll. If a troll loses a limb or body part, the lost portion regrows in 3d6 minutes. The creature can reattach the severed member instantly by holding it to the stump.
Automatic Language: Giant. Bonus Languages: Common, Orc.
Favored Class: Fighter.
Level Adjustment: +5.

True true but this thread is not only about what cool monster races could be player races but also how they would need to change them to make them less OP

Turbine would need to do something with that or else a whole party of trolls (no pun intended XD) would just be like "Man that was a tough encounter. Break for 5 minutes while our hit points regen"

Well, it can be done - but it's exorbitantly expensive... Gotta find the right rare mosses and shrooms to get a shade that will blend well on a Troll's mottled complexion....
Prolly not in the Ebbie Lore, but I want a Fremlin. Stands knee-high to a Pixie.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fremlin
Fremlins are a friendly, mostly harmless subspecies of gremlins featured in the Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition supplement, The Complete Book of Humanoids. Like other gremlins within the game, they are small, winged goblinoids, only growing to about a foot in height. However, Fremlins tend to be plump and slate colored. They have large, pointed ears, bat-like wings that give them the power of flight, and an innate immunity to non-magical weapons. Fremlins shun clothing and ornamentation, believing they should never hide the wonderful bodies they were born with. They refuse to use weapons, and are generally worthless in combat.
These magical creatures live to have fun. usually at the expense of others. They love to play practical jokes, though their humor tends to be less harmful than that of their gremlin cousins.
RP: Fremlins are friendly gremlins who tend to be quite harmless. These plump magical creatures are usually whining and lazy, complaining about the least thing and always seeking a way out of real work. Fremlin PCs are tolerable companions....
These magical creatures are cowards, fleeing at the first sign of trouble...
:D
Best character I ever had, even if he did die at like level 3 or 4...
